This is by far not only the biggest update we've done for CSD 3 up to this point, but maybe the biggest update I've ever done in my whole career makin' games! How crazy is that? Let's dig into all the new goodies that you'll be getting next week!
Welcome to Newer OrleansThe newest territory, Newer Orleans, is a wasteland in dire need of hope. Perhaps you can shine a light with your delicious food, Chef. Just watch out for the new Esteban's food truck- their new nasty hack attack can blind you to important UI elements, and makes prepping food even harder than usual.
While the general guidelines for this area recommend a full Level 20 or above hazmat suit for outside use, you'll find most citizens just want to continue living and dressing as they did before. Is it a desperate yearning for life before the bombs, or ignorance, or carelessness that they don't all suit up? All I know is that guy wants a King Cake, and he's gonna get one, by golly.
Enjoy over 30 levels with some of the hardest stops yet! Good luck Chef!
Steam Trading Cards & AchievementsAlong with new challenging achievements we will also be releasing Steam trading cards! Collect all eight and earn delicious Gelato badges, emoticons and backgrounds.
Additional Dialogue from Whisk and CleaverAll new end-day dialogue lines from
@negaoryx and
@havanarama have been added to the game! You can get a taste of it
here. These were all improv'd by Havana and negaoryx and it was a lot of fun to record at the end of a very long VO session, and I'm so happy we're getting them into the game. They will pop up sporadically during the course of the game and will not be included as a "repeat" line, so they'll be a bit more rare.
Customize your Food TruckFinally, the biggest update yet- the ability to customize your food truck! We have 40 trinkets available for this update, with dozens more to come in future updates. You'll be able to place statues and posters all over your truck, some earned, some you can buy, and a few that are challenges you must complete.

In CSD 2 the editor was, to put it mildly, not the best in terms of user interaction. We wanted to make sure we got it right this time, and I think you'll find it to be a much better overall experience. That said we're definitely looking for feedback on any improvements that you might like in the editor, so be sure to check it out!
...And More!There's still plenty more to the update, including new food descriptions, some balancing changes, and, well, more! I can't wait for y'all to dig in next week.
Thanks once again for all the positive support y'all gave when we announced the delay of this update from March, and I hope you feel that the wait was worth it! And thank you for all the positive reviews- we're so close to 500 reviews, a huge milestone, all thanks to y'all!
Thanks again, stay safe out there, and cya soon with the update!
