Inspired by the Italian legend of the Montebello castle, explore an ancient mansion where the legend tells of Azzurrina, a little girl who disappeared in mysterious circumstances in the icehouse, leaving behind only a ball made of rags. Help Celeste by investigating, solving puzzles and restoring the little girl's memories as you challenge the ghost of the mother who is chasing you.

  • Added the ability to choose between QWERTY or AZERTY keyboard to control the character with WASD or ZQSD.
  • The quest icons on map are now animated and more easily identifiable.
  • Improved the map/minimap graphics, especially for offshore navigation.
  • Rewritten the boat control system, now fluid and responsive.
  • Added notification icons within the agenda of unspent points for skills and character upgrades.
  • The train now also acts as a portal by purchasing tickets, to travel to this new dream and the next ones we will add over time.

  • Fixed the bug that caused on-screen instructions to disappear during random events or bosses.
  • Fixed the glitch of disappearing legs by canceling the purchase of new pajamas.
  • Fixed the saving and loading of the color of the decals applied to the pajamas.

We are approaching the exit from Early Access for the game. The core mechanics, the quest system and the main story progression are now fully implemented. The game, which will be improved with each update starting from the performance up to the addition of new contents, has taken the final direction towards version 1.0

Update 0.9.15.4: Optimization

Dear Dreamers,
over the years the game has gone through many versions of Unity and this brings to the developers a series of advantages on the one hand and disadvantages on the other. One of the disadvantages is the loss of fluidity caused by the constant deprecations of many optimization tools used during the development that worked effectively with one version of the engine and much less in the next. Making a game always snappy, especially when it comes to open worlds, is never easy, no matter what graphic style the game adopts.

This update includes a number of refinements regarding internal graphics settings, increasing fluidity on different types of video cards by up to 30%. Without going into too much detail, we worked on a more marked differentiation in the levels of detail, on the shadows and on the calculation of off-screen animations.

We will continue to work on this aspect continuously, to make it more and more enjoyable on a wide range of hardware configurations.

You will need to double check your graphics settings. Those who had set the level of detail to Low or Medium could easily switch to High or Ultra.

Update 0.9.15.2: Quests and more!

Dear Dreamers,
There Was A Dream was founded on the principle of pure exploration: the world is full of activities to do and the player must discover them while wandering around the game world. This choice was not appreciated by everyone and many complain of an empty world, where feeling lost is all too easy.

In order not to distort the idea behind the game and to please all types of users, we have included a quest system. Once the tutorial is over, the direction to follow will be indicated on the map and Agent Carl at the DreamPol station will assign you various missions each with different gameplay and situations to face. Each mission is longer than the previous one and allows you to expand the knowledge of the places and activities present in the game world, solve environmental and non-environmental puzzles and even impersonate animals!

This first quest update will give you over 45 minutes of additional gameplay. Over time we will add more missions, linked to other characters and other places to discover, with always new and fun gameplay for each.

INSIDE THIS UPDATE

  • Quests: a series of introductory missions, with different gameplay and situations.

[h2]IMPROVEMENTS[/h2]
  • Improved frame rates in some areas.
  • Added a marker on the map / minimap showing the location of the quest and an arrow on the minimap indicating the direction to follow.

[h2]CHANGES[/h2]
  • Changed the E to F key to get on vehicles or on horseback. This avoids overlapping instructions when you are close to the vehicle and near an object to be picked up.

  • The graphic settings set from the main menu are saved when you start a new game, without the need to set them again.




COMING SOON

In October, in conjunction with the Halloween holiday, we will publish Chapter 1 of There Was A Dream. Not only will new quests be added that will carry on the main story, but you will travel through a new dream.

Update 0.9.14.1

Dear Dreamers,
thanks to your feedback we have worked on some things that did not work properly and others very annoying for some. Now you can open your tablet or map even when you are in a vehicle or riding a horse. Those with difficulty finishing the tutorial can now use a button to skip it completely and be teleported outside the training ground. Other fixes and improvements include language switching, additional sound adjustment options, localization improvements, etc.

We are 2 people in Keydare Project and we continue to put all our efforts to improve the game. Hoping for your trust and patience, here is a list of the features currently in the game and what we will improve and add over time.

[h2]What we are going to improve[/h2]
  • Optimization: not all areas of the game are perfectly optimized. Some areas may have frame rate drops.
  • Localization: the game supports 7 languages and we will add more over time. We have encountered problems with Russian and Chinese characters for the advice text in the upper right corner of the interface and for help. The text was left momentarily in English. For all languages: if you find errors or phrases that you think should be corrected, please report them in the appropriate thread [link steam].
  • Not all areas of the game have the same level of detail. We will improve the bare areas and add new ones to make the game world richer.
  • Crafting: at the moment we have only inserted objects useful for exchange missions in the game. As we add new missions we will add new objects to craft.
  • Nightmare: we will add more missions and activities within this dimension over time, so that it will be as rich as the Dream.
  • Combat: We are working to add new environmental puzzles to defeat the Entity and new allied enemies of the Cataloguer to make the fighting more engaging.
  • Additional missions: we will add more random events, more exchange missions and implement new fun mechanics to complete them.
  • We will give more importance to your kitten companion. Currently taking control of it is useful to find objects and seeds hidden underground, but given its size we would like to add places that can only be explored by him and more.


[h2]Next future contents[/h2]

While we are going to fix and improve the above is our intention to add more layers to the sandbox that we created and that is designed as a container. The dream and nightmare of the protagonist is the main area in which to move, explore and fight. Thanks to the great power given by the Entity, the player will find himself crossing the boundary of his dream and entering into that of other dreamers. In these worlds you will play exclusive new adventures with their own story to complete, levels, mechanics, duration and collectible items.
