Tetris® Effect: Connected News

Tetris Effect: Connected hasn't been on Steam for long, but there are strong players already appearing in all kinds of ranked matches! That raises the question: who is the strongest?

A question like this asked over ten years ago started the Classic Tetris World Championship series - the tournament in a version immortalized by our Classic Score Attack mode.

That’s why we want to invite you to sign up and join in on our seasonal Tetris Effect: Connected Tournaments! This will be the first series involving players from ALL platforms!

What’s more, the tournament itself is open for everyone interested and run by our community! Players will be divided into tiers -- so there is little to no chance you will be facing someone way out of your league in the very first match!



There are five categories. Players can compete in as many categories as they want to:

• Zone Battle
  
• Score Attack
  
• Classic Score Attack
  
• Classic Score Attack PAL
  
• Triathlon (a special category in which each round is a match in other mode itself)
  

Signups are open until 12th September 2021, 24:00 UTC. Day after signups, the brackets, and deadlines for each phase will be published

Finals will take place in late October. Details will be provided soon!

• Fixed an issue where users could not cancel the initial tutorial pop-up screen if the video did not load correctly. (This fix should help users who could not get past the initial tutorial popup in the multiplayer menu.)
  
• Fixed an issue where ”Certified Platinum” achievement did not unlock correctly.
  
• Fixed a bug in CONNECTED and CONNECTED VS multiplayer modes which resulted in the Tetrimidion boss favoring Blitzes (such as POP IN) of bosses from previous areas with higher probability.
  

Other minor bug fixes and adjustments.

• MULTIPLAYERの初回チュートリアルで、動画の読み込みに失敗した場合にキャンセルが効かない問題を修正。
  
• コネクテッドモードのTetrimidionで、先のエリアの魔物に対応する攻撃（POP INなど）がより選ばれやすくなっていた不具合を修正。
  
• 実績「Certified Platinum」がアンロックしなかった問題を修正。
  

その他、軽微な不具合修正と調整。

Tetris Effect: Connected has a “Weekend Ritual” event that runs every weekend for 24 hours! We're going to take a moment to explain what these events are, how they work, what you can gain from them, and some information to find out about our new special clues!

[h3]Let’s learn how it works[/h3]

For 24 hours from noon UTC Saturday to noon UTC Sunday every weekend, the community works together to reach 100% of the Ritual Goal, which will unlock special in-game AVATARS! To participate, all you need to do is play the featured EFFECT MODE in-game!



The event cycles through CLASSIC, ADVENTUROUS, FOCUS and RELAX Effect Modes each week.

If the community reaches the goal by the end of the event, you'll get your in-game avatar during the following week, so make sure you log in after the event to see if the goal was met!



The avatars run on a cycle, and there's a lot of them! To celebrate the Steam launch, we're going to be adding an extra little incentive to shake things up. Starting this week, we're going to be providing clues as to what the avatar will be each week on our Twitter account, so make sure you follow us to look for the clues!

That’s right, the FULL Tetris Effect: Connected experience is also coming to Switch Oct. 8 (same day as the OLED Switch launches), and it includes all the goodies: single-player, all stages, all options, Effect Modes, co-op and competitive cross-platform online OR local multiplayer (remove the Joy-Con controllers and play on the same screen -- perfect for rooftop parties!)

Why did it get pushed back from late July?

After such a successful beta with lots of feedback, we realized we would need a little more time to get bugs squashed, and to ultimately deliver a higher quality game. Cross-platform multiplayer with VR is a huge technical challenge, and giving our players the best experience possible is very important to us. So while we know it may be a little annoying -- we think the wait is going to be worth it!

To celebrate the long-awaited Steam launch, we’re going to be offering a 25% off discount for the first two weeks. You’ll also get the “Digital Deluxe” version alongside the base game at no extra charge!
