Now Steam Deck Verified! + Trading Cards, Emoticons and Sticker!

Hi everyone,

I am pleased to announce the game is now officially Steam Deck Verified! I have had many users report that it runs very well, especially after the latest optimization update :)



I am also pleased to announce that there are now trading cards, emoticons, animated sticker, and background for the game. Please let me know what you think!



As always, please do not hesitate to share any ideas and suggestions for future content. I am currently working on a new Kaiju, but have plans to add more, so make your voice heard. I apologize if I don't have the time to respond to every suggestions individually, but rest assured I have read it and absorbed it. I really appreciate anyone who takes the time to leave me feedback and suggestions :)

NEW KAIJU IN DEVELOPMENT! + Bug fixes + Optimizations!

Hi everyone,

I am bringing the performance enhancing optimizations from the 'speedboost' beta branch into the main release, as well as fixing several bugs. Also, toggling the special options now disables leaderboard submissions until the game has been restarted.

After the console releases in December on Nintendo Switch, Xbox and Playstation, I will be looking to add new content to the game. Please let me know what you would like to see in the game!

The next Kaiju is going to be PAINGOLIN! It's special ability will allow it to transform into a 'wrecking ball' that can either move with a dash, or be kicked around / moved around by your fellow kaiju.



Paingolin is being developed with the help of community feedback, especially in Discord (https://discord.gg/ubEX4gxFN7), please do not hesitate to share your input with me! Also I am looking to do more kaiju and more content, possibly a new mode, so please let me know what you folks would like to see :)

Release notes
  • Integrated the optimizations from the 'speedboost' build. This means the current default build will have improved performance across all devices, including the Steam Deck.
  • Bug Fix: If a player game over'ed with a stage goal complete, or died while exiting, a game state failure could occur resulting in a soft-lock.
  • Bug Fix: The invincibility cheat now protects you from splash damage from rockets.
  • Bug Fix: Occasionally, especially during slowdowns, the butt slam won't register the powered-up impact because of slight physics object tunneling. A fallback has been implements to using a trailing averaged velocity should tunneling occur.
  • Toggling the unlockable special options now disables leaderboard submissions. This is to ensure the integrity of the submissions. Restarting the game will re-enabled leaderboard submissions.
  • Tweak: Slightly changed the way aiming kicks works when no aiming input is provided by the player, especially on the gamepad using thumbsticks. (Should prevent kicking cars in a trajectory that just makes them slide)

Hi Everyone,

I just want to thank everyone again for all the support you folks showed my game! I am very happy with how the launch of Terror of Hemasaurus went! I really want to thank everyone for taking a chance on my weird indie games :) I know they aren't going to be everyone's cup of tea, but I genuinely appreciate anybody who is willing to take a chance and give them a whirl.

Also, thank you to everyone who took the time to leave a review! It really helps me out by letting the algorithm know people are enjoying the game :)

v1.1 Update is now live on the main branch


Official Changelog:
  • Key rebindings on both Keyboard and Gamepad are now saved upon quitting.
  • Bug Fix: UFOs can no longer fly off screen.
  • Bug Fix: Fixed a crash related to kicking a Tank into a Blimp.
  • Reworked how the SFX and spark effects work with Wrecking Ball / Tank / Blimp interactions to improve performance and eliminate a crash.
  • Post game Financial Damage counter sped up to be independent of amount. On especially long sessions of Endless Mode this was taking too long to count up.
  • Corrected mismatched goal text on Outskirts NYC stage.
  • Bug Fix: Fixed a crash when checking leaderboards on Steam Deck
  • Increased flashing duration of Page Change controls to increase awareness of special options. Will cease upon page change.
  • Game now properly saves settings on 'Explosion Flash' and 'Speedrun Clock' settings.
  • Bug Fix: When a player got a game over in local multiplayer, the flag was not properly reset upon respawn. This caused issues with exiting the stage, stage transitions and other issues.
  • Other minor and miscellaneous tweaks, improvements and fixes.


* Please note, GOG and Epic v1.1 update will follow likely within the next 24 hours :)


Optional Optimized Build
If you are playing on Steam Deck / are experiencing performance issues (or just want better performance or to help me test things), then please check out the "Speed boost" Beta branch, by entering the beta password 'speedboostme' as shown below:


This branch contains an optimized binary and may or may not be stable, but it should produce a noticeable performance benefit :)

How to access:
1. Navigate to your Steam Library
2. Right click on Terror of Hemasaurus, and go to 'Properties'
3. Click the 'Betas' tab
4. Enter the password 'speedboostme' without the '' and click 'Check Code'
5. Then select the 'Speedboost - Optimization Testing' from the drop down menu
6. An update should trigger.

Please make note of any issues you might encounter. If you encounter a crash, please make a post in the game's discussion forum.

Future content

Right now I am considering what future content I might want to add to the game, whether that is more kaiju, more stages and story, another mode, etc. If you have any ideas for kaiju, stages, or modes please post them in the game's discussion forum!

Thank you to everyone for being so patient and for helping me test things with the demo / beta! A monstrously huge thanks to the Digerati team and Kittehface software and everybody else who contributed to the project. Console ports are on the way in December as well.
