Heyho, railroad workers!

As we already talked about in our recent Community Recap #1 you guys are crazy about proving yourself against your friends and/or rivals. Some more than others - for example, look at Astonkin, QuantillusVarus, Bulba and oilbucket (who got disconnected in between).

This enthusiastic group of our community members came together to create our first official Record: 2.748m Distance. It took them 4 hours and 15 minutes and a lot of nerves, but in the end they succeeded in becoming record holders.



We enjoy the passion you are putting into Unrailed! and even if we cant promise much at this point in time, you can be sure, that we are planning to support this enthusiasm as good as we can and keep on working out those aspects of the game, that our playerbase already is going crazy about - so keep your eyes wide open, so you won't miss our upcoming events.

  • Crash fix: Earthquake particles in shop could lead to a crash
  • Crash fix when player comes close to a bandit
  • Crash & Bug fix: Turkish region setting could lead to a crash when entering the online menu and to wrong letters in the menus
  • Crash fix when a once upgraded milkwagon is next to an active supercharger wagon
  • Crash fix when a sound file is missing
  • Crash fix randomly occuring during online sessions (releated to the data serialization)
  • Bug fix: Network code related synchronization issues
  • Bug fix: Shop buy sound sometimes played too often

Hey, railroad workers!

It has now been precisely one week since we dived deep into Early Access territory and presented our precious indie game Unrailed! to the public. And what a week it was – the sheer amount of feedback you guys have been delivering on Discord or Steam is mindblowing. And we are already on it.

Feedback

Since most of the things you are bringing to our ears need some tinkering in the code, it's only realistic that it takes a bit longer to fully implement gameplay feedback (When it comes to hotfixing issues, you can see here the urgent fixes we did right after Early Access Launch) – but that was not everything you were talking about in the last 7 days: Aligned to your feedback we reworked a lot of our Discord Server:

Content Ideas
Even though we already have some great plans of our own, we still appreciate and value the big Hive Mind – so keep those brilliant thoughts coming, who knows, maybe you will find your new idea in the game sooner or later.

Streams
Since Unrailed! is connected to Discord you can easily stream your gameplay via the Discord Feature – but if you are streaming on another plattform, feel free to leave us your link, so we can say hi!

Competitive
Unrailed! might be a co-op spectacle where you work together to achieve your goal – but seemingly that doesn't stop you, our community, from trying to test yourself against other players as well. This is why we created a brand new "competitive-section" on our Discord Server, where you are able to share your Distance Highscores or Speedrun Records!

If you already want to test your skills: We found a particularly tricky Seed, which some players of our community declared "unbeatable" – why dont you give it a try? It is Seed ZH86cCs

Experimental Branch
As some of you seem to be crazy scientists in your free time, we want to give you the possiblity to test our newest inventions (balancing and/or small reworks) – before they are "save". If you dont shy away from possible crashes or bugs, feel free to reach out to "Penta der Panther" or the Developers in our Discord Server.


PAX West 2019




Our trip to Seattle right before the Early Access Launch was a great way of seeing player reactions first hand - especially since some people might say, having your teammate right next to you opens up a whole new layer of "fun". Seeing you interact with each other – and seeing that the crowd got hyped up watching you wiggle through the maps – was the most wonderful thing we could have experienced.



This is it for today's Community Recap, but we have a lot of stuff in the pipelines to make this Early Access Phase an awesome experience for everyone involved – so stay on track, cause this train won't stop!

Hotfix 13th September

  • Crash fix when trying to create or join a game online (occured for clients with FIPS mode activated)
  • Crash fix when using ping tool in split keyboard controller
  • Crash fix with upgraded Compass Wagon (probably occuring during the shop)
  • Crash fix when master disconnects while the train goes quickly to the shop
  • When the game crashes due to not enough video memory, the graphic settings are being lowered
  • Fixed bug where the multiple overlapping interfaces are spawned concurrently after leaving a lobby
  • Fixed bug where players cannot leave the shop
  • Keyboard split controller fix & update:
    - Next to [STRG-R], also [ENTER] can be used to pick/place stuff for the right player
    - Emoji button now on [DEL] and [NumPad0] for the right player
  • Fixed chinese and tranditional chinese Versus status information
  • Fixed AZERTY & JCUKEN keyboard layout: some character pictures were missing, some bindings wrong
  • Added "Ultra 2" graphic settings with very 16xAA and 4k shadow maps (nice for streamers)
  • Added a more sophisticated crash dumper (it takes quite a bit longer when the game crashes until it closes since we write a bigger memory dump and zip it, so please don't kill the process ;)

  • Crash fix related to the GamePad controller
  • Crash fix on start up (due to some graphics cards / drivers setups)
  • Crash fix when entering invalid characters in the seed input
  • Free region choosing for chinese and non chinese players
  • Multiple crash fixes in the game-end lobby (when players connect and disconnect)
  • Crash fixed when installing the binary to locations with special characters
