Customization System update

Hi Coaches,

Since the game's release there’s been a lot of discussion around the Customization system. As something our players care about, we wanted to address this topic individually. Our aim has been to provide a transparent and rewarding system for players, but we must acknowledge that the delay of the planned reward features not only presented the system in an unintended way but also revealed its weaknesses, which is something we’d like to change.

Listening to your feedback is important to us, and one of the main criticisms the system has faced is the fact that buying an item unlocks only one copy instead of unlocking it for unlimited use. Add to that the issues we faced with the game’s launch, and it becomes understandable why players assumed monetization was one of our main goals with this game.

As a result of this we decided to make some drastic changes to the customization system and how cosmetic items work in the game.
COMMON RARE AND EPIC ITEMS
All the Common, Rare and Epic pieces of equipment bought will now unlock for unlimited use among your teams, on players that share the same position. You will not have to buy multiple copies of the same helmet or shoulder pad anymore.
We also want to clarify that this rule will apply both to items bought and items obtained as a reward.
LEGENDARY ITEMS
Unlocking a Legendary item through the shop or as a reward will be less frequent than other rarity, and we want those customizations to remain an exceptional way to make your key players stand out. This is why Legendary items will not be unlocked for unlimited use. We will still change one constraint that we believe should be removed: equipping an item on a player in one of your teams will not prevent you from equipping it in parallel on another one of your teams anymore.

We are currently evaluating ways to prevent the proliferation of Legendary items, to back-up this vision through the store and customization system.

We hope you understand that changing this system will require time including refunding the players who already spent their Warpstone on items that will be unlimited after the patch. We will come back with an exact date for these changes once we’ve got all the technical confirmations we need.
FIRST SEASON BLOOD PASS FOR ALL
It remains our plan to launch the Season 1 in May 2023. A new Faction will be released and seasonal features like the Official Ladder and the Blood Pass will be implemented.
We appreciate that the launch hasn’t gone as well as it could and with that in mind, we want to start the new season right.

The Season 1 Blood Pass, including the first new faction, will be free to unlock for everyone.

We believe these changes and announcements will contribute to make Blood Bowl 3 a more fair and enjoyable experience for all our players. We know that there is still a lot of work to implement features and fix elements of the game, and we remain committed to that as our main priority.

The Blood Bowl 3 team.

The Admin tools

Hi everyone,

Today we would like to address all the members of the different leagues, and through them, the entire Blood Bowl community.

We have heard your concern about the current absence of advanced admin tools in Blood Bowl 3.

We know how important these tools are to the community, to the players who can enjoy the different competitions and to all the leagues and their admins, passionate about Blood Bowl, who enjoy creating such competitions.

Jumping from Blood Bowl 2 to Blood Bowl 3 without mentioning it was a mistake we want to correct today.

Having the advanced admin tools ready is one of our short terms objective. We didn’t mentioned it on the roadmap to focus on element understandable by everyone, so we will take this opportunity to tell you now. We are aiming at having them ready during pre-season before the start of season 1.

Our current plan is to progressively add administration features to the Blood Bowl 3 webapp, starting during the next couple of weeks by:
 • Add additional admins/commissioners onto league boards.
 • Add and remove teams to ongoing competitions.
 • Seed knockout competitions.

Followed by
 • Advance each round manually.
 • Aeset a match so it can be replayed if a crash occurs.
 • Admin specific match results, including spp and gold.
 • Ticket teams for competitions without them needing to be on an admin’s friends list.

A dedicated part of the team is currently working on those features, and we will update you as soon as there are more information to share.

As for concerns regarding readability and reconnexion to ongoing matches, we would like to reiterate that their presence at certain steps of the roadmap doesn’t mean that we’re waiting in the meantime. These issues are very high on our priority list, and the team is hard at work to fix them as much as other critical ones. We dearly hope to be able to implement them sooner that what is stated on the current roadmap. We will continue to deploy fixes and features as they get ready, at the earliest convenience.

We wish to continue offering the community the right environment to create even more content than in the previous game, and for the many years to come.

Thank you,
The Blood Bowl Team.

Blood Bowl 3 devs address complaints, hand out free stuff

fter multiple delays and an early unlock period that was marred by game-breaking bugs, Blood Bowl 3 launched on February 23. In spite of fixes for the most egregious issues, like the servers straight-up not working, it's currently sitting at a user rating of Mostly Negative on Steam. Only 27% of user reviews are positive...
