Blood Bowl 3 will have transforming pitches, gross burgers

During today's Nacon Connect livestream, Cyanide filled in some details about its forthcoming fantasy football parody Blood Bowl 3. A trailer showed the six sponsors its singleplayer campaign will be based around: Bugman's Beer, Corsair Cruises, Cabal Vision, Block & Dodgers, Orcidas, and a disgusting hamburger brand called Nurgle King. Blood Bowl 3's campaign has you fighting for a Nurgle King sponsorship

Like any professional sport worth its salt, Blood Bowl needs sponsors in order to keep upping the ante on the frantic on-field action. To keep crowds interested, you need spectacle, and for spectacle, you need money. That's why it's important to sell out to the biggest company with the deepest pockets, and Blood Bowl 3's campaign is all about competing for those valuable sponsorships.

A new trailer for the fantasy-flavoured football game premiered at Nacon Connect, and it shows off some of the potential sponsors you'll be vying for. Cabal Vision, the network that actually broadcasts the league, has its own sponsored team. So do Corsair Cruises, Block & Dodgers, and the reliably wet Bugman's Beer. The slate of potential sponsors is rounded out by Orcidas, which appears to be a chain of Orc gyms, and Nurgle King - a burger restaurant franchise that's putting the 'mystery' back in mystery meat.

For that sweet, sweet sponsor cash, you'll need to impress out there on the field, and that means beating the best teams in Blood Bowl. You'll be up against the dwarf Gourmets, the greenskin Outsiders, the Chaos renegades of The Gifted, the skaven Engineers, the dark elf Pirate Crew, and the eternally smug Elite Division.

Another day, another Patch!

We are making a few changes to improve the game experience.
The main goal of this patch is to fix an issue introduced by the previous patch, which prevent us from receiving crash data.

Our first Beta is up and running and it is now time to celebrate our first Patch Note!

We’ve made a few changes to improve BB3 Closed Beta playtime quality.

Blood Bowl 3 gives us new rules and new limbs to break

Blood Bowl is back, baby! Well, sort of. Blood Bowl 3 is actually out next year - February 22 to be exact - but the fine folks at Cyanide are letting dedicated fantasy sports fans enter the stadium before the previous teams have even been scraped off the astrogranite via early access this September. Can't wait that long? No worries. Closed Beta testing starts today, and you can sign up here. It's somewhat limited, so best get signed up sooner rather than later.

Meanwhile, my Black Orc team (Da Krumpmeisters) have spent the last few days headbutting Imperial Nobles and snapping the limbs from satisfyingly fragile Elves, and I'm here to tell you all about it.

As you may know, Blood Bowl 3 is an adaptation of Games Workshop's 2020 edition of the Blood Bowl tabletop game. As far as rules changes go, they range from the small ('Going For It' is now called 'Rushing'), to the potentially game changing (you can now blow all your team re-rolls in a single, glorious turn). Here's a useful overview. Altogether, Blood Bowl is cleaner, more characterful, and the passing game is fleshed with a brand new stat. Blood Bowl 3 aims to capture this as faithfully as 2 did the game's 2016 edition.
