Update on Early Access release date!

Hi everyone!

A few weeks ago, we announced that Second Extinction will enter Early Access in September. However, we have to delay the launch by just a little longer and will now be entering Early Access in October.

We’re focused on keeping everyone on the team safe and healthy, and that’s why we need a little more breathing room as we get ever closer to launch.

We’re a small team working on Second Extinction. While we’re committed to delivering an exceptional dinosaur killing experience to you as quickly as we can, the reality is that we, like so many other developers out there, are constantly adapting to the challenges that 2020 is presenting to us. Making games is never the most straightforward endeavor, and it’s gotten slightly more difficult this year.

While Early Access allows for a great collaboration with you, our fantastic community, we also want to make the experience the best it can be in terms of general stability, bugs, network issues, and performance.

We will let you know the exact date in October very soon – we promise! We just need to work on a few fixes to guarantee stability when going live. We will keep you posted, and cannot wait for you to drop down and Reclaim Earth.

If you’re not already following us on Twitter and Instagram, or part of our Discord community, why are you still here? Go go go!

The terror of Second Extinction's acid-spitting reptile raid teams

Second Extinction throws a whole lot of familiar ingredients into a science fiction blender. It's got the repeatable cooperative action of Left 4 Dead, the comic book dinosaurs of Turok, and even the online world tendency shenanigans of Demon's Souls (really). You can look at any element of Second Extinction and see exactly where it's come from, but the shooter manages to build its own identity where intelligent tactical co-op shooting and gloriously dumb dinosaur gore meet.

It's the future. Earth has been overrun by evil mutant dinosaurs, and you're part of a small group of humans who have returned from space to take the planet back. In practical terms, that means you're dropping from space for brief bouts of mission-based dino murder. You drop into one of a handful of open-ended maps, follow big objective markers through hordes of violent dinosaurs, maybe complete a few side missions, and then extract to collect persistent rewards. Rinse the blood off and repeat.

Once you're on the ground, Second Extinction moves fast - and so do you. Dinosaurs can surround you in a hurry as you move toward your objectives, and your experience might go from 'lonesome stroll' to 'full-on dinosaur stampede' in the space of a few seconds.
