Patch 2021.2.2

Hi everyone,

A new update has been released as a follow up to the previous patch. This patch contains the actual fix for issues with terrain painting, as well as another terrain issue fix.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed terrain painting not working correctly (permanent solution).
  • Fixed grass details appearing when testing in the course creator, but not during normal play.

Patch 2021.2.1

Hi everyone,

I have just released a patch addressing some critical issues (and a couple of non-critical ones) that were introduced in the Arcade update (and no, this is not an April Fools thing, I just have bad timing). You can find the changes below.

Bug Fixes
  • Temporary change to fix terrain texture painting not working. You may notice the terrain textures not looking as good as they used to. This is only temporary while I try to solve the larger issue that was introduced in 2021.2.0.
  • Fixed the "Create Pipe Links" action menu item not working.
  • Fixed the undo/redo label for changing barrier styles being incorrect.
  • Fixed the selectable circle for objects with no collisions, such as bushes, having an inconsistent size.

Arcade Update

Hi everyone!

After almost a year, the Arcade course is finally here! Travel through the bright neon lights of the "Arcadia" course as you play through 18 holes inspired by classic arcade games.


In addition to the course, brand new Arcade-themed objects and music have been added to the Course Creator! You'll also find new letter and number objects that you may find useful:

The next course to be overhauled will be a return to a more "traditional" theme with an 18-hole Medieval course. There will very likely be some extra content to go with the course, too! Of course there will also be more new features, improvements, and fixes.

  • Removed "Arcade Interior" sky, this has been replaced with new "Interior Blue", "Interior Orange", and "Interior Gray" skies.

  • The action menu now follows the position it was opened at.
  • Lights now get turned off in the course creator when the hole they are a part of is inactive.
  • Holes now create their own "Reflection Probes" (in short, reflections and ambient lighting around holes look better)
  • Added logging to course creator actions to help with debugging.
  • Upgrade Unity version from 2018.2 to 2021.1 beta.

  • Fixed water hitbox not updating when changing the sea level.
  • Fixed power-up items not syncing correctly over the network when placed inside of groups.
  • Fixed erroneous selection and action menu opening when confirming/cancelling moving objects.
  • Fixed some issues with moving objects up and down.
  • Fixed Move To Position behavior sometimes resetting position in the editor.
  • Fixed some errors caused by event link lines.
  • Fixed issues with undo/redo for color picking.
  • Fixed events not duplicating correctly in some circumstances.
  • Fixed issues with some course creator editor visual effects.
  • Fixed selection being blocked by objects from inactive holes.

2021.1.4 Update

Hi everyone,

This version was originally meant to just be a hotfix, but I decided to include all of the things I have been working on so far.

I am still working on the Arcade course. Unfortunately my save file for the Arcade course went missing-in-action since the last time I worked on it, so I had to recreate all of the holes I had previously made. In any case, I am now back to where I was and am moving forward.

(Note that this changelog also includes changes made in version 2021.1.3, which I did not post an announcement for.)

Features
  • Players can now be managed from in-game (change name, ball color, and control scheme).
  • Duration on behaviors can now be set as a random value within a range.
  • Improved behavior of Move to Position. The object will now move relative to its parent Group (if it is in one), allowing for more intuitive complex behaviors.
  • Improved behavior of Move to Rotation. The object will now rotate relative to its parent Group (if it is in one), allowing for more intuitive complex behaviors.
  • Added some extra premade green pieces and a spawnable barrier-only object.
  • Updated some Arcade objects to be colorable. Also updated the default colors on all colorable objects to be a consistent blue color.
  • Updated the Group handle to indicate the Group's orientation (Blue = Forward/Back, Green = Up/Down, Red = Left/Right).
  • Event list items are now collapsible.
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed issue where opening the Steam overlay would sometimes cause controller inputs to become messed up.
  • Fixed duplicated Groups containing greens not being properly deleted when undoing the duplication.
  • Fixed cases where Group relationship lines were not being drawn correctly.
  • Fixed errors caused by adding a Group into a Group that is a child of that Group.
  • Fixed Move to Rotation UI not showing Rotation Mode options correctly.
  • Fixed being able to press the Continue button on tutorials after the tutorial has ended.
  • Fixed issue with green splitting that could cause a course save file to become corrupted.
