Ace Pilot, Ace Friend

Hello Everyone,

Mission Control here! He’s remained in the background so far, but today it’s finally time to introduce you to another of Bullet’s friends: Ace pilot Nick!

------------------------------

Name: Nick Justice

Species: Leviathan

Age: Redacted

Best Friend: Nixie

Hobbies: Watching Anime, piloting vehicles, gardening

His allies rely on him, his enemies fear him: Nick Justice is known across the galaxy as one of the best Leviathan mecha pilots in existence. Everyone knows that when the going gets tough, you can rely on Nick to save the day!

He’s been putting his skills to good use, defending his home planet against the invading alien army. His best friend and greatest supporter in the fight against evil is none other than Nixie, the inventor of Nicks most effective weapons. With her fabulous advancements in technology on his side, Nick knows he can’t lose!

Of course, Nick is also familiar with Nixie’s other best friend, Bullet. Soft and cuddly, Nick has always had a soft spot for him. If only Bullet didn’t like digging up his carefully planted Daffodils so much…

However, his newest gardening project has been put on hold, since Nick’s attempt to rescue Nixie is cut short by his encounter with brain washing parasites. Don’t worry Nick! Bullet is on his way!

-------------------------------

Now that Nick’s mind is no longer his own, he has instead become a powerful weapon in the enemy’s arsenal. And Bullet might have to make a terrible decision.

Can you help him decide Nick’s fate?

Until next week,

ProtoCorgi Delayed

Hello Everyone,

This wasn’t an easy decision for us, which is why we have waited so long to make this announcement: ProtoCorgi’s release will be postponed.

Our goal has always been to deliver you all a day-one gaming experience that feels good and is fun to play, without bugs and bumps along the way. Over the last few weeks, we’ve come to the conclusion that ProtoCorgi, as it is now, isn’t quite yet the fully polished game we want to reveal to you. To fix that, we want to take a few more weeks to fine tune and smooth out a few rough edges.

We apologize to all of you who have been anticipating the release. We know a lot of you have been patiently waiting and following our journey to bring Bullet to your Computers and Switches’ for a long time now, and we are so very grateful for your continuous support.

And don’t worry! Work on ProtoCorgi IS proceeding smoothly. Once Bullet has caught those last few pesky bugs and Nixie has gotten the Switch version all ported and ready, we will be able to deliver the best possible, one-of-a-kind space Corgi experience! Until then, we will continue to keep you updated and give you your regular does of cute Corgi goodness here and on our social media channels.

Once again, thank you so much for your patience and support. It means the world to us.

Until then,

The Brains Of The Operation!

Hello Everyone,

It’s Mission Control! Today we want to introduce to you the brain behind the C³ class Corgi Bullet: The fantastic, one-of-a-kind scientist Nixie!

------------------------------

Name: Nixie

Age: Redacted

Favourite Food: Redacted

Hobbies: Dangerous experiments, building weapons, playing with Bullet

Best Friend: Bullet

-------------------------------

Nixie’s one passion in life is the advance of knowledge: dangerous experiments, undiscovered facts of life and pushing the boundaries of possibility. Science is her one true calling and her fierce intelligence and dedication have afforded her a comfortable position as a military weapons inventor and scientist of the highest rank. Nothing makes her happier than to pursue her goals and build more and greater weapons in the name of achieving intergalactic peace.

Her closest friends and allies on this life mission of hers are Nick, the best military mecha pilot the universe has seen in ages, and her beloved corgi puppy Bullet (excellent fighter, not so great at paperwork).

Bullet’s untimely death devasted Nixie. Unable to stand the thought that her best friend might be lost forever, she used the most advanced, untested military technology and her own untamed genius to give Bullet a second chance at life as an indestructible cybernetic combat corgi. The result? The greatest, most adorable weapon the world has ever seen.

And quite possibly her own salvation, now that Nixie has found herself being kidnapped right out of her own laboratory!

------------------------------

Before she fell into the hands of evil, Nixie was able to rouse Bullet from his unnatural slumber. As she waits for her friend to come and rescue her, what horrors will Nixie face? And why was she kidnapped in the first place?

It will be up to you and Bullet to discover the evil plot behind Nixie’s abduction and rescue her from the enemy’s clutches. To make sure you’re ready, why don’t you try to practice the ProtoCorgi demo a little more?

Like a Boss

Hello Everyone,

Mission Control here! Today we want to talk to you about the dangers that lurk in the depth of space. At the end of each stage in ProtoCorgi, Bullet’s danger sensors will go off and you will meet a terrible fate: A boss encounter!

Each boss comes with a unique set of attacks and movements. Those of you who have made it to the end of the demo will have already met one of them: The Guardian Eye!

(Hey Buddy, what are you looking at?!)

He shoots lasers out of his pupil and tries to crush Bullet like the oversized ping-pong ball he is. Don’t let him succeed! If you pay attention, you might be able to predict his path – make sure to take advantage of that! To defeat him, you will need good aim and the right timing. Of course, these are just his warmup attacks – just wait until you meet him in the full version, where he will have a few more tricks up his none-existing sleeves.

All the bosses you will encounter in ProtoCorgi have strengths and weaknesses like this. Some are more obvious than others. Of course, your chances of success also depend on which weapons you have equipped. If you are almost out of lives, it’s important to strategize: Do you prefer a large blast radius or do you want to be able to aim all your power where it really hurts? Make sure you’re prepared to face the enemy!

In any case, the opponents Bullet and you will encounter on your way to find Nixie aren’t push overs, but they also aren’t invincible. Don’t give up hope and keep trying!

Pup, Puppest, Corgi

Hello Everyone,

Mission Control here! Thank you all so much for watching our stream and playing the new ProtoCrogi demo during Steam Next Fest – we’ve been overjoyed by the amount of positive feedback we received from you!

Today we want to show off another feature of both the demo and the full version: difficulty settings!
One of our goals for ProtoCorgi was to make it accessible to a broad range of people. The shoot’em up games of the 80s were thrillingly difficult – since this is almost a genre staple, it wasn’t something we wanted to lose.

At the same time, it is that very characteristic that also made them very frustrating for a lot of people: those with little time on their hands to practice, those simply wishing to play for the joy of experiencing the levels, or even just those with little patience. We wanted to make sure that as many people as possible would be able to love Bullet, as well as enjoy shoot’em up games.

The result of our musings: Difficulty settings!

There are many different challenges for you to unlock: from Pup to Puppest to the elusive Ultra Nightmare! The full version of ProtoCorgi will include a whooping nine different difficulties!
Now, you might wonder what these difficulties will actually look like in-game:

The first difference is the amount of enemies you will encounter. At Ultra Nightmare, Bullet will have his paws full shooting everything in sight! The second difference are the types of enemies you encounter at different stages of the game, as well as their level of aggression. Watch out for vicious attacks from behind!

The same is true for the bosses: more health and a more aggressive attitude to beat! They might also use different strategies to strike you down: the higher the difficulty, the more it will keep you on your toes. Quick reactions are the name of the game!

Will you challenge yourself on Ultra Nightmare? Or go for a not-so-leisure stroll as a pup?

At the end of the day, remember: Playing ProtoCorgi on a lower difficulty doesn’t say anything about your skills. It simply means a different way of enjoying the game 😊
