Devblog #25 - Let The Music Guide You!

Sup Cleaners!

Embarking on a cleaning spree through the gritty underworld can undoubtedly take its toll on your sanity. That's why we've added a feature to make your cleaning escapades a bit more enjoyable – the power of music!
AUDIO CASSETTES
During your adventure, you will be able to find audio cassettes scattered around the locations. Once you find them, you can add them to your collection, which you can browse through in a special tab located on your tablet. Moreover, you will be able to play them at any time you want! Don't be worried, because they won't disturb you in key plot moments of the game. At the start, your library will contain only a few songs, but it will continue to expand with each cassette found.
PLAYLISTS
If you hear any music in the game, you can expect it to be findable and playable! Cassettes can be obtained by picking them up during missions, as information about all discovered and undiscovered soundtracks can be found on the tablet. It will also list the location where each specific soundtrack is hidden. By default, tracks are displayed and sorted by where they are found, but you can also sort them by title or music genre.

But that's not all, because you can create your own playlists! Select songs you want to hear the most, press the play button and enjoy your favorite songs one after another as long as you want. Now, go out there, clean up the mess, and let the music guide you.

Stay tuned for more updates, and once you get a hold on the game, don't forget to share your favorite cleaning beats with us! And what do you usually listen to while cleaning in real life? Let us know through discord or in the comments! Have a happy time cleaning to your favorite tunes and remember to keep your eyes wide open for news and dates, because we’re getting closer and closer to the release, which is just around the corner. Get ready because we’re progressing at full speed, cleaners!

And by the way, you can let us know in the comment what could have possibly happened on the picture above. We only accept wrong answers!

Devblog #24 - Washing Stains

Sup Cleaners!
We hope that you remember who your best friends are at the crime scene. Although people can be tricky, your cleaning tools are to be trusted, especially when it comes to fighting your biggest enemy – general mess and… lots of blood stains. In this kind of job, you have to become like a tactician on the battlefield. Recognize the problem and tackle it with the best weapon available.
STAIN TYPES
Now every stain is a different story. You will find some stains on the carpet, furniture, wooden floor or on glass and that makes your job even more interesting. Each type of surface poses a different challenge. Some stains are harder to get rid of and if you don’t want to spend all day cleaning just one stain, you will need to come up with an idea to take care of it in a smart way.
DIFFERENT STAIN, DIFFERENT TOOL
Let’s dive into details. For example, cleaning glasses now gets tricky – they are fragile and will break if you use a power washer on them. It forces you later to take out the trash can to clean up the mess you’ve just made. Even more work to do! Mop may not break glasses but will surely throw them all around the place. Sponge is a safe option here. The glasses will not only be clean, but also won’t budge by an inch. That’s it, precise cleaners! By implementing different types of stains, we expanded the usability of already existing tools.

Do you use a mop to clean your carpet in real life? Yeah… you probably don’t and we neither. The correct answer, again, is to use a sponge! For real, give this man some credit… You will be wasting your time if you just pull out a mop or a power washer, but most importantly… you don’t want to make your lovely sponge sad, do you? That’s the sponge’s time to shine! Use it to scrub the carpet at a much better speed.
REARRANGING FURNITURE
Did you know that items don’t really like to be cleaned with a mop? Well… your mop was born for different purposes, like cleaning floors and other flat surfaces. To properly wash stains on items and not to fall into the depths of despair from your cushions flying all around the place, again, you should pick a sponge. This will be crucial to your cleaning struggles because you won’t be able to arrange the furniture properly with its elements being dirty. First, you need to clean a cushion of all the blood before you try to put it back on the sofa. Only then will it count as completed.

And what do you guys think? Do tools now make more sense to you? And most importantly… how do you like the sponge's glow up, tempting beast isn’t it? (pls stop hating on sponge, it has feelings) Well, let us know what improvements to your cleaning struggles you would like to see in the future!

Devblog #23 - Safe Mode

Sup Cleaners!
It’s been some busy time, but trust us – we are not lowering the tempo. During their job, every cleaner is bound to see many gruesome images. After all, crimes can sound tempting and sweet, but there’s no denying that their main theme is a bloody red color. For some reasons, you may prefer to save yourself from those murderous views and, for those of you, we have a solution.
SAFE MODE
You heard us right! We’ve implemented a safe mode option. But how does it work exactly, huh? Although this option doesn’t fully erase crimes (well, that's a game about cleaning them after all lol), it turns them into family-friendly content.

All the places, usually running with blood, will now remind you more of a paintball battlefield. Safe mode turns blood into paint and cleans bodies from bloody wounds, so it seems as if the victims are just peacefully sleeping.

To turn on/off the safe mode, just go open the settings → general → blood settings. There you can adjust the blood settings to a full or safe mode. After you finish, remember to apply changes.

Why would we include such a feature in our game? Well, first of all, we want to give a helping hand to content creators, who prefer or need to censor their content for a bunch of reasons, such as website’s politics, young audience and so on. Safe mode is optional, so don’t worry if it will ruin your experience – it’s just a matter of preferences. If someone doesn’t really like the sight of blood and other cruelties, it’s also an option for those people.

Do you, perhaps, have in mind any other settings option that could be useful in our game, that is not already included in Crime Scene Cleaner? Will you use a safe mode or prefer it all to run with blood? Let us know in the comments or on our discord server!
