Hello there all Lumia Survivors! Aesop here to introduce you to a new system coming to Eternal Return

Beginning today, and over the next 2 weeks, we'll be introducing the new Augment system, set to release in Season 4!
(Think talent or rune system from... similar games.)

Before we get started, I'd like to note that everything is still in development and may change a bit!

Augments are divided into 3 categories. Each category has Core and Sub augments.
Core augments are more powerful and help make up for things that test subjects may lack - and sometimes reshape their playstyle entirely!
Sub augments will typically boost multiple stats and give buffs in special situations.

You'll be able to select a total of 5 augments in-game.
One category will be your Primary Augments, allowing you to select 1 Core augment and 2 Sub augments. You'll also be able to select a Secondary category, allowing you to grab 2 additional Sub augments.

Augments mostly consist of conditional abilities and have a cooldown time.
Mastering augments will enable to do some crazy stuff and tap into their full potential!



[h3]The 3 categories we've developing for Season 4 are Havoc, Fortification, and Support.[/h3]

Today we're going to start off with a dive into the Havoc category.


As you may have guessed from the names, Havoc will provide some nasty offensive boosts, strengthening aggression and... strength. That's right, they strengthen your strength.

First, let's take a peek at 2 Core augments and 1 Sub augment.

Frenzy: Using your weapon skill grants you attack power and attack speed based on your level, but also increases your damage taken. Glass cannon style.

This augment would be choice on characters that are more basic-attack focused, but you'd have to build some life steal items to avoid getting wrecked. (Or you could really trust yourself to evade every skillshot...)


The Havoc augment Vampiric Bloodline grants Omnisyphon when you damage an enemy with a skill.
You can max out at 4 stacks of Vampiric Bloodline. When you're at max stacks, you'll get some bonus Skill Amplification.
If you're on a roll and landing every skillshot, you can really use Vampiric Potential to increase your sustain and take some enemies by surprise if they don't have any healing reduction!


We'll end the initial augment reveal with Stopping Power.
Stopping power grants you Armor Penetration based on your current level.

Naturally, both Basic Attacks and Skills are reduced by Defense, so this'll help you shred your enemy if they went FULL TANK.

We'll have another SEVEN augment reveals until October 25th (KST).

Season 4 is shaping up to be the absolute BEST season of ER YET.

[h3]1. Daily NP Event[/h3]
Play 3 Normal/Ranked games every day during the event period to earn 100 NP each day (Total of 600 NP)!

Play some ER and get some NP to put towards your favorite skin!
*After completing the mission, click on the reward to receive it.

[h3]2. Anniversary Profile Icon[/h3]
A special anniversary profile icon will be awarded to players who have played 10 Normal/Ranked games. You'll get the icon after maintenance on October 27th.

[h3]3. Windblade Yuki[/h3]
Play 20 Normal/Ranked games during the Anniversary Event to receive Windblade Yuki! Play the games and you'll get the skin after maintenance on October 27th.



[h3]4. Spec Ops Leon[/h3]
During the event period, an Easter Egg can be found on Lumia Island in Normal/Ranked games! Find this easter egg and you'll receive Spec Ops Leon after maintenance on October 27th.



[h3]5. Hyunwoo's Street Fiend Jacket[/h3]
We'll be sending out 10 more jackets after the anniversary event! Anyone who plays 30+ Normal/Ranked games during the event are entered to win!

*The Anniversary Profile Icon, Windblade Yuki, and Spec Ops Leon will be sent to you after the maintenance on Oct 27th. Be sure to redeem them before the maintenance on Nov 24th!
*Winners for the Street Fiend Hyunwoo's Jacket will be announced at a later time.

As you might've heard from the Tokyo Game Show (TGS), Eternal Return is coming to the Microsoft Store on October 19th and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can redeem some really good Perks.

With the launch of Windows 11, Microsoft is also putting a lot of effort into expanding Xbox apps and Game Pass on PC. Microsoft even recently announced that they, as a company are going "all-in" on gaming. (Link) We've also started to work on various publicity and promotions with Microsoft! (The TGS announcement was also made by Microsoft.)

Eternal Return hasn't quite match the explosive growth of the game that we witnessed in Korea, so we're taking this opportunity to introduce players worldwide via Game Pass.

To launch of the Windows Store, Eternal Return had to go through a lengthy certification process of acceptance by Microsoft.

Because of this, we had to have a lot of people here at NN work on this - along with normal ER operation. The final steps of the certification usually lasts longer than a week and we must remain free and able to modify files during that period.

As a result, we will not be able to proceed with the scheduled 0.43 update on October 14th, which includes Chloe and additional features. These will be pushed to the next update(0.44). We're sorry to those who are excited for Chloe, but we'll get her soon!

Since it's the last update for Season 3, we'll still have updates for balance and other various hotfixes.

Our team has worked countless hours trying make the Eternal Return experience better by improving tutorials and network issues and releasing balance patches, new characters and skins. Through we haven't always been able to meet everyone's full expectations, we'll continue to work, improve, and add new features that every player will love.

Also, you might have the impression that Eternal Return's various communities and competitions have been focused on Korea for the first year. Although our team has made efforts by holding global events such as ERWI (Eternal Return World Invitational), ERCS (Eternal Return Competitive Series), and LABS (Lemon-Aid Benefit Series), sometimes they've fallen slightly short of our own expectations. We really want the best for the global community. We're working on some things to move forward together with global players with not only Xbox Game Pass and Xbox consoles, but by also holding more abundant competitions.

We're also listening to feedback that everyone has provided, and we have been really focused on making improvements. We honestly feel that we've grown and improved and achieved more than we expected. Of course we need to make even more improvements and we're really trying to satisfy everyone and make an even better game in the near future.

We are aware of the many problems in that still exist, such as a long matchmaking and higher ping. We promise to focus on these problems and try and come up with a good and robust solution to these problems.

We've got a lot of cool stuff coming for Season 4 that will shakeup the game quite a bit and we're excited to share more details over the coming weeks!

For now, though, Halloween is right around the corner... so get ready for some new skins (or since it's Halloween, I suppose you can call them costumes) very soon!

The cast range was changed to 8.5m to maintain the original range. To put it simply, her base range is noted longer but it is still a nerf)
