It has now been 2 weeks since we launched SBT into open development. First, we thank all players who have participated and played our game so far. We received a bunch of great player feedback and all the pressure u guys have given us has motivated us to work harder and to speed up the development process.

Last weekend, we hosted the first ever SBT community tournament in China. It was a small tourney between 8 teams, randomly filled up by the top 24 players in the leaderboard. The matches were awesome, and some good players are emerging. we’ve uploaded some highlights on YouTube. So yeah check it out to see how the best Chinese players are doing (Link).

What is very evident in the tournament and the overall gameplay from the last 2 weeks is that it is very difficult to play defence for most people and especially Pai and Lang are a bit OP at the moment. Especially there is a Pai player in the tournament who can turn and sprint while still in the air, then bypass the defence and score, not just in 1v1 situation with goalie, but even when up against 2 defensive players.

Even with strong goalie players, the offence still seems much stronger than the defence which puts a lot of importance on who is better at controlling and keeping the ball throughout the game.

We are now about to put more balance into the game. Not by making the offensive players weaker, but to add better defence.

Right now, R47 is the main goalkeeper for most matches. He is excellent at ball control and is pretty agile despite being such a large robot. In order to play R47 well, it mainly comes down to player’s individual controls (jumping, punching & positioning etc.) and technical abilities. Overall, R47 is not completed positioned as a goalkeeper, he’s just more suited right now due to his bigger size.

For some time, we have been working on creating a character that is better fitted for Goalie
by nature. This character would have to be big like R47 to easily block the shots, as well as having more emphasize on abilities to further increase his goalkeeping techniques.

Obviously, the one with the shield won the vote and we started to make the concept into reality. Besides the whole batting thing is already used by R47.

When this guy comes out, a whole new variety of gameplay and fun will be added to SBT.

He will be part of the Main May Patch that is coming out sometime in May. More updates on the abilities and the actual date of his release is coming later. Stay tuned!

Game Optimization
- In quickplay, higher-ranked players within the team will be randomly placed as opposed to the GK position from the previous patch.

Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug where there is no countdown before the game starts in custom game mode.
- Fixed players could respawn in an incorrect position when the game restarts.





May Major Patch

Hi folks,
 
We've been pretty busy since our launch, mostly on fixing bugs and optimizing the gameplay.
We will keep working on this and appreciate feedback and bug reports from you guys.
But we now have a bit more time on our hands again to resume some of the work we have in our development calendar.
We're planning on making one major patch every month which will bring new exciting elements to SBT!
Here is a sneak peek into what we are currently working on for the next major patch in May:

- We are almost ready to bring you our new character Bubba!
This masked guy is big, slow, carry a car door as a shield and is a great character for playing goalie. This should give the goalie player another option apart from R47, which is currently the preferred choice for most games.
More details about his skills and stats will be updated before the May patch so stay tuned on our social media!

- Second Map 'The Dragon Stadium' is coming up as well!
We've been working on this stadium for about half a year and are now finally prepared to present it to players!

- New lobby soundtrack
If you didn't notice our last soundtrack, it was probably because we had a loud wind/motor sounding noise that drowned it out. Only recently did we disable it and you're now able to hear our current soundtrack in the game lobby.
But since it is a bit generic, we've been working closely with a great producer recently to make a new and better soundtrack.
 
So that's pretty much the overview of our next major patch, we can't say the exact date of this version yet, but it will be within the next month and we'll update you more details about the patch soon.

EU and US Servers is Being Combined

Hi everybody

We have been trying to grow our player base, but it is happening slowly.
We are aware that matchmaking is not the best at the moment, so we have decided to combine our US server and our EU server into one.
The new server will be based in Virginia on the East Coast.

We have tested the latency for the past two days and players in Europe is likely to have a ping around 80 which is good enough to play without any issues.
After we have built up our player base a bit, we will separate the two regions again.

If you experience major issues with this, please let us know and we will look into what we can do about it.

Patch Note 0.103

New features:

1. Training mode
- We've now added the training mode into the game, players can now click the 'train' button in the lobby to join the game against the AI with no time limit.
- Added a notice for players to join the training mode when they entered the game for the first time

2. Changed some of the server settings and address the issue of 'unable to find server'

3. Added a feature where players can fill out all AI by clicking 'F2' in the custom game


Bug fixes:


1. Fixed the bug where the effects of R47's right-click ability does not match it's actual range

2. Fixed the shaking camera issue when Lang double jump and then shoots the ball.

3. Optimize the ranking system, fix the issue where high-rank players lose more point when lost the game.

4. Players with higher ranks within the team will more likely be placed in the 3rd position (only in quick play)

5. Cancel the option where players can leave the game when picking characters

6. Fixed the issue where private room with a password will be available to join once players have entered the game

7. Fixed a bug in which players cannot enter the game when connecting

8. Fixed the issue where the chat bar can't be turned off by pressing 'Enter'

9. Fixed the weird car sound in the lobby
