Update 1.2.2

Gameplay:
• Added Shooting Difficulty selection to the Gameplay Options.
• Shooting now uses an accuracy system. If you walk while shooting or shoot multiple shoots your accuracy will decrease indicated by the expanding crosshair.
• We changed the camera perspective while aiming and player movement is now allowed while aiming and shooting.
• We changed how enemies detect the player and enemy hits are calculated. This also includes group behavior of enemies to reduce the chance of being directly overwhelmed if there are multiple enemies.
• Your companion now tries to help you during shooting missions.
• Head shots are now punished. If you aim too much at the heads of enemies, the mission will fail.
• Improved colliders around areas where shooting missions take place to prevent some situations where the player could get stuck in furniture.
• Increased the number of possible spawn points for car chases triggered by radio calls.
• Changed the selection algorithm for missions triggered by the sandbox mission board to allow more variability in the spawned missions.
• Changed conditions for when a broken-down car is despawned. Now broken-down cars are longer available to trigger the mission and do not disappear directly after teleportation.
• Tweaked the damage taken during car chases to make it easier to stop fleeing vehicles while ramming them.
• Changed the selection algorithm for fake evidence during procedural accidents. Now there is a bit more variability in accidents.
• Changed how conclusions for an accident are made. Now there is a choice depending on your investigation results.
• Tweaked vehicle physics to improve vehicle controls while driving.
• Increased the time constructions zones stay active to improve the odds of encountering one.

Bugfixes:
• Fixed calculation for the number of available tech-tree items showing a wrong result.
• Fixed rank tasks are not properly updated sometimes after their conditions were fulfilled.
• Fixed various causes for possible soft locks in unique missions.
• Fixed black screens sometimes do not disappear after starting missions or skipping cutscenes.
• Fixed some possible soft locks if you try to change your vehicle during an already running mission.
• Fixed a possible soft lock if the vehicle damage is deactivated in options after the vehicle took damage.
• Fixed player and enemies can shoot and hit each other through solid walls.
• Fixed enemies become invulnerable if they were defeated using a take down and then restarting the mission.
• Fixed soft lock caused by reaching 100% vehicle damage while inside the trigger to enter a garage for repair.
• Fixed soft lock caused by unintentional interaction with other items while carrying something. This could for example happen with the broom.

Improvements:
• Camera handling and positions while entering, exiting, and driving vehicles are improved.
• Improved camera and gameplay transitions in and out of cutscenes.
• Improved camera positioning in dialogues and added a check to prevent the camera from moving into NPCs.
• Improved UI colors for placing pylons during evening and nighttime.
• Reworked various animations during shooting. For example, it is now more visible if an enemy is hit.

Update 1.2.0

With version 1.2.0 alongside various stability improvements we have a big content update for all the police officers out there. Here is a list of the most noticeable changes:

Changelog - Update 1.2.0

Gameplay:
  • The mission type “Hold Ups” is now available. They are available on the mission board in the police department if you have completed the mission “Hold-up!” on rank twenty. You will be aiding shop owners and gas station clerks that fall victim to gangsters in these all-new side quests.
  • We have made a whole lot of improvements to how the shooting gameplay works, making shootouts more challenging and less repetitive
  • Your cars can now be damaged if you crash too much into road furniture and other vehicles. If your vehicle is damaged too much, you will be automatically towed to the next repair garage, which you can find all over the world. If you want to fix your vehicle up, you can also visit one yourself. You can disable car damage in the options menu if you do not want to play with the added realism and challenge though.
  • Added construction zones on highways. They spawn randomly in various parts of the world, annoying everyone. There is nothing better than catching an annoyed speeder that puts construction workers in danger
  • You may have already noticed, but when you approach the higher ranks, you have a lot of vehicles in the parking lot! And the number may even grow in the future… To not run out of space in the parking lot, we are introducing the police garage! It is located on a part of the old parking lot. All your vehicles are automatically being stored in the garage now while not used, and to select a different vehicle you can either interact with the garage door or just drive into the garage with your current vehicle.
  • Ever wondered what the speed limit is on the road you are driving on? Just like in real-life, you may miss the one or other speed sign, so we added a speed limit detector! The speed limit of the road you are driving on is now always shown in the lower right corner of the vehicle HUD. It will go red when you are speeding – but luckily, you’re the police, so who should punish you but yourself? If you want to add to the realism, try to respect the speed limits – unless you have got emergency clearance of course!
  • Stefan is now even more aware of his surroundings; he will follow you around if he can and tries to help as much as possible.
  • We have changed the weighting of the kind of missions you receive via radio, so you get a more diverse range of calls now!
  • If you have unlocked the “Empathy” or “Authority” upgrades in the Tech-Tree, perpetrators in accidents you receive via radio calls are now more likely to confess.

Bugfixes:
  • Fixed a problem which allowed to start an additional mission while a mission was already running
  • Fixed various localization issues
  • Fixed various issues with timers not updating properly after canceling a mission
  • Fixed a bug in mission “The Last Race” which lead to the mission not being completable after a reset in the interrogation.
  • Fixed radio calls sometimes triggered during challenge missions.
  • Fixed an issue which caused bought donuts to not track correctly for statistics.
  • Fixed an issue which caused a wrong dialogue path being selected if you try to retake a declined Story Mission from the colleagues in the police department.
  • Fixed an issue with fades between the normal background music and action music. This could cause the sudden disappearance of the music.
  • Fixed option for inverting y-axis not being properly applied in shooting and photo mode.

Improvements:
  • NPC vehicles now have drivers.
  • Stability improvements.
  • Further improvements for cutscenes.

Patch 1.1.1

Patch 1.1.1 mainly fixed problems concerning the stability of the game and some minor gameplay tweaks. In the background we are already working on the next update with further performance and gameplay improvements. As soon as we have some more details, we will let you know through our usual channels. For now, here are the most noticeable changes for 1.1.1:

Gameplay:
  • In the mission “Hold-up!” it is no longer possible to take down enemies while sneaking to the gas pump
  • Leaving the track in driving school challenges now triggers a reset to the last passed checkpoint.
  • We began to rework the mission flow of shooting missions. This is an ongoing process and in the next updates we want to introduce some major updates for the shooting gameplay.

Bugfixes:
  • Fixed various game breaking issues within the “The Almighty” quest
  • Fixed an issue with resets in shooting missions which caused you to be placed incorrectly and sometimes out of bounds of the challenge area.
  • Fixed an issue with enemies disappearing after retrying the mission.
  • Fixed an issue in shooting missions where hit hostages were not registered correctly.
  • Fixed not being able to pull your gun after canceling a shooting mission while reloading the gun.
  • Fixed an endless loading screen in mission “Tick-tock”
  • Fixed challenge mission debriefings causing the game audio to break after retrying the mission.
  • Fixed unwanted radio calls to appear directly after restarting a challenge mission.
  • Fixed XP calculations related to the unlockable tech tree bonuses being incorrect.
  • Fixed a bunch of possible issues which could lead to broken loading screens.
  • Fixed the cause for long main menu transition times, causing a seemingly frozen loading screen

Improvements:
  • Improved some Cutscenes and removed some annoying visual problems like clipping wheels or continuity errors. We are working on more fixes related to cutscenes.
