The Magic Grows

Hey friends! I want to keep it short, as we're finally right on the verge of a major update.
This update will happen roughly in mid November, and is going to make the experience so much more awesome for returning players, and especially new ones.

Lots of progress was made in October, and you'll find it in the update.
The Magic continues to grow! :)

September Dev News - Combat

Hey everyone! For those of you playing Serin Fate already, I hope it’s been a good experience. Any feedback you may have is very appreciated, so please leave a review on Steam -- It is the absolute best way to support the project.

Now, as the holiday season approaches, so comes the time for the next big content update, which is going to be AWESOME!! I really think this next one is going to round a lot of edges...
Let’s check out some of the additions in September.

As you’d expect, development continues in the Nymbus Isles.


Which brings lots of new Items you can find, craft and use.


And new environments to traverse, like this shallow water… Be careful! Being in the shallows will slowly regenerate some HP, but can be deadly in a lightning storm!


Now… Perhaps the coolest addition this month is the complete re-work of combat.
Combat is now much more engaging, and fun! You can finally wield and use Swords & Staffs to fight enemies (along with other semi-combative items).


Here is me wielding a Nature Staff. Staffs have the awesome ability to charge up by holding the attack button - Doing so will consume Mana but yield MUCH greater damage!


There are many other changes with the combat, and how it now functions with Chimera, but we’ll save that for another time.

Lastly, there are countless little changes and functionality improvements, like this new status display, tree wiggle shader, and placement-range indicator.

Trees may start to wobble in rain and storms, for a fun visual, and will scare off any flyers that were atop.


The ability to hide the display, is great for a screenshot, or just cleaning up the clutter.


And these indicators make designing your garden and Chimera pens much easier, and spatially efficient!

August Dev News - Nymbus Isles

Hey everyone! For those of you playing Serin Fate already, I hope it’s been a good experience. Any feedback you may have is very appreciated, so please leave a review on Steam -- It is the absolute best way to support the project.

Let's take a look at this month... We’re heading to the beach!


In August I set whales to the Storm Biome… Yes whales.


This is a Nymbus Whale named Kumo - You’ll have to convince him to give you a ride, if you want to reach Nymbus Beach. The stormy weather surrounding the Nymbus Isles is too destructive for normal sail ships!

The Storm Biome is just getting started, but will bring all sorts of new obstacles, flora, and fauna… Like these little Hermit Crabs!


There is Hermit racing… Ahem. That’s all I’ll say about that.


Most of the work has been done towards the Nymbus Isles this month, however as usual, there are many new additions like these:
The Autumn Forest may appear to be deeper and darker.


You may find shooting stars at night while dreaming, they can be caught!


And lastly for now, Serin Fate has got some shiny new cover art.

July Dev News - Aesthetics!

Hey everyone! For those of you playing Serin Fate already, I hope it’s been a good experience. Any feedback you may have is very appreciated, so please leave a review on Steam -- It will help the future of Serin Fate… Now, let’s take a look at what is coming!

The month of July has been focusing on aesthetics.
First off, all of the races are now playable - You can be a Human, Val, or a Serin.
Here is me, as a Serin:


Along with visual appearances, any awesome “source items” you may find, such as this Star Wand, will be visible and may have fun visuals while you go about your Witchy business!


Lasty, for aesthetics, I’m in the process of re-pixeling all of the trees. You can see two of the new ones here:


Moving on… To Items!
This month brought almost a whole inventory worth of new Items to discover, craft and loot.


A few of my favorite Items this time around are the Chimera Barn and Magnetic Chest!
The Chimera Barn is great for letting your Chimera “hibernate” and has other special uses I’ll let you discover on your own.


And for the neat and tidy, the Magnetic Chest is fantastic for keeping your place orderly and sorted.


Last but not least, there is a new enemy and a whole new DEX Stat Attribute.
Here is the Snap Dragon. You’d better stack up your Runic Unitys, if you plan on fighting these fiery flyers!


The DEX stat further adds to your build’s flexibility, and allows for all sorts of interesting stat and item combinations.

HUGE Summer Update!

Hey everyone! For those of you playing Serin Fate already, I hope it’s been a good experience. Any feedback you may have is very appreciated, so please leave a review on Steam -- It will help the future of Serin Fate… Now diving in!

It has been a long and productive 3 months since the first Early Access version was released, and Serin Fate has come a LONG way.
Let’s take a look at some of the main cool additions in this update!

First off, Serin Fate has an epic storyline planned out, and that has begun to take shape. You’ll delve into the inner workings of the World and begin to unravel the plot line! This includes an extensive tutorial for you new Witches!


Next up is World development. A new Biome has become playable, nearly doubling Serin Fate’s playable area size -- The Sun Biome. In the Sun Biome, you’ll need special “Heat Proof” gear to traverse it, otherwise you’ll suffer the fiery heat... Adventuring under the cover of night is also an option!


And next is maybe your favorite? Chimera! There are 20 new Chimera species that you can find, battle with, and care for at your house. There are 10 new Storm Chimera, and 10 Moon.
If you really like to care for them, you can now breed them… In the right conditions, any of the current 40 Chimera species may partner up and lay eggs… Who knows what powerful little Chim will hatch?


Now… Let’s talk a bit about Witchery. There are some new mechanics and ways to use your precious Mana. As a Witch, you can now establish a Mana Link! Creating a Link has many uses, such as growing plants more quickly, harvesting resources, activating Magic relics, and you can even speed up time!


On top of Mana Links, there is an arsenal of new spells at your disposal, including fishing spells, gathering spells, teleportation spells and more… This is Ignite (use with caution)!


Ok this is all pretty casual so far… Maybe you like a challenge? I do too! Hard mode is now activatable. Playing on Hard Mode is very dangerous; Monsters are much stronger and death is permanent, but there are XP and loot bonuses for the courageous Witch...


Hard Mode or not, enemies have lots of new combat dynamics, and you may find some new Monstrous lurkers at night!


With all this talk of enemies, you’ll need new items, and there’s a whole trove of them to aid you on your adventures. I recommend the Storm Staff if you want to make quick work of your foes!


Guys… I could go on and on, there are countless nuances and hidden depths, loads of rich new NPC dialogues, things to do, places to explore, balance changes, a whole new fancy UI, options menu, and patch note display… There is even a new somewhat secret mechanic, that I’ll let you discover on your own!

To give a general perspective, there are currently:
- Two whole Biomes
- 40 unique Chimera Species
- More than 20 Spells to learn
- More than 400 items to craft, gather, place and equip (that even surprised me)!
- And a whole lot of NPCs, Monsters, Key Items, Quests and adventure!
