Dev Diary Biped 2: May

Hello adventurers!

Thank you so much for your feedback on the Biped 2 Demo! We're very happy that you liked the demo and today we'll tell you what we're working on.

Thanks to your feedback, a lot of things have already been improved - for example, the camera controls. Also, in response to your comments, we will introduce a difficulty level system and make the tutorial less intrusive! In the release version of Biped 2 there will be two difficulty levels: easy and hard, which will affect not only the complexity of puzzles, but also by the number of tutorials.

We want to make access to co-op mode as easy and convenient as possible for users, no matter what region they are in. We have taken several steps to improve co-op mode: the Steam version of the game will support P2P connections for more convenient two-player play. Also, the game will retain the previous local and online co-op modes. The region selection interface will be changed as well - now the player will be prompted to select a region immediately upon switching to online mode. We hope that this will make choosing servers more understandable and transparent for users.

In addition to making technical and quality-of-life improvements, we continue to work on the content of the release version of Biped 2. So, now the team is working on colorful new biomes; these novel natural zones will add more visual diversity and even more interesting puzzles to the game.

We are also actively adding new mechanics to the game! You will be able to use a special hook in new puzzles and new water areas.

This is the end of our diary, but we will surely come back with more details.

Until then, so long and see you again, bipeds!

Small update 1.9

Dear adventurers,

Some players have reported issues with the game's stability, and we have prepared a small patch that might fix these issues. If you have experienced issues with the game before (including the black screen at launch), please check if it is fixed for you now. If not, please send us your DxDiags to [email protected], and we will have a deeper look at it. All your system configurations are different so we try to fit them all.

All the best.

Biped 2 Demo: Dev Diary

Hello, adventurers!

You already know that Biped 2 Demo is available on Steam, and a lot of players have become familiar with it! Some of the players came after completing the first part of the game, and for some, this chapter of the adventure was their beginning. We listened to feedback from old and new friends, conducted a survey, and watched videos from streamers and content creators. We did all of this to make Biped 2 as good as possible!

So, let's take a look at what has been done so far and what we still have to do.

Beauty (and comfort) is in the eye of the beholder

The interface and camera are some of the most important elements of a game, especially for a cooperative puzzle game like Biped 2. Many people complained about the clunky camera movements, as well as the fact that the camera could freeze at an awkward angle in co-op mode. Of course, we immediately set out to fix this problem - we want you to solve puzzles, not suffer over in-game cameras!

The same goes for the interface - we made it more beautiful and user-friendly so that it becomes a worthy framing for the gameplay.

Complexity in simplicity

The balance - what an important word! Game developers of all genres care about it, and we are no exception. It's important to us that Biped 2 is a fun game while maintaining accessibility for both adults and young players.

Many of those who have already tried the demo have complained about the difficulty of the game and the fact that puzzles often cause frustration and unwillingness to progress further. We are working on a solution to this problem, and the final version of the game will feature two difficulty levels - easy and hard. They will differ both in puzzles and mechanics and will provide interesting and enjoyable gameplay for all kinds of players.

The path we'll walk together

Of course, the above changes won't be the only changes for Biped 2. New levels in the game will also include new mechanics (for example, the hook), secrets and various features that users will be able to discover on their own during the game. We also continue to work on many aspects of the game, such as accessibility, the convenience of co-op mode, and quality of life improvements. Feedback and suggestions are always welcome - feel free to express them on Steam, X, and Discord!

We'll be back with more Biped 2 Demo updates, but until then, enjoy the game, adventurers!
