"The Heartbreaker Trilogy" Now Available
Our biggest update ever
It's been a hot summer, let's chill-out and vibe? Jam-packed with new scenes, modifiers, gun models and wraps, achievements, improvements, and more, The Heartbreaker Trilogy is a chilled-out departure from the norm meant to act as an upbeat respite to rock out and relax before what’s in store. ːenteringsteamvrː
New scenes, new vibe
Following a five-part season of face-melting music forged for fighters, the Heartbreaker Trilogy is a mellow palette cleanser aimed at all the lovers. ːsteamhearteyesː The first-ever multi-scene pack includes three new scenes featuring artists from repeat label Kannibalen Records and a first-time appearance from label Seeking Blue. They represent an all-new chilled-out, colourful, and highly-musical take on classic heart-pumping Pistol Whip action.
 • Letting Go - EMBRZ: Dance and shoot your way through showers of stars and rain in this upbeat transitional journey above a dreamy pastel cityscape.

 • Embers - Dabin feat. Jill Harris: Angelic vocals help you groove and vibe your way through this warm, colourful, and abstract scene.

 • Another Day - Dabin x Inukshuk (feat. Nevve): Experience the explosive and joyous conclusion to The Heartbreaker Trilogy in a fantastical journey across the road less traveled.
New modifiers, existing modifier score changes, achievements, and more
• Calling all high score chasers: We’ve upped the bar on point potential with two new modifiers: Vengeance and Disorder. With Vengeance enabled, enemies are even more ruthless, shooting back every time you land a shot. Disorder, on the other hand, shuffles enemy armor types around, ensuring even seasoned veterans must improvise to survive. Vengeance will add 10% to your total score, Disorder 5%, and Dual Wield now has a 0% score modifier and will no longer negatively affect scores.
 • Achievements are here! Twenty-four brand-spankin’ new achievements make their debut for you to unlock.
 • New guns, new skins, and new effects. Say hello to the new Summer Soaker collection featuring three new models (Bubble Blaster, Mega Douser, & Dollar Drencher) along with a squirt-filled shooting visual effect, all making a splash in your gun case this update.
 • A new Heartbreaker-themed wrap joins the collection along with a sweet new synth gun sound effect that really shakes things up for the Heartbreaker scenes. Try it out!
 • Playspace rotation is here!
 • You spin me right round: Gun pitch customization has been increased to 360 degrees.

We're really excited for you to try The Heartbreaker Trilogy and to hear what you think about the new vibe. Be sure to tell us here on the forums, on our Discord, or on twitter @PistolWhipVR!

Hotfix 0.6.17.147 Now Live

As promised we’re back with a small update including improvements to obstacle collision, modifier saving, and the second iteration of our sparkly new enemy shaders. :enteringsteamvr:
Save Mods
A small yet highly requested feature has been added: Save Mods. When enabled, modifier selections will be saved and persist between sessions. This means if any modifiers are selected upon exiting Pistol Whip, those same modifiers will be selected and the modifiers pane will automatically open when Pistol Whip is next launched. Players with a preferred set of modifiers will no longer have to reselect them each time they start Pistol Whip. ːsteamhappyː
Improved Visibility and Obstacle Collision
After our last update, which introduced a new treatment for enemy shaders, we received some feedback regarding performance issues, enemy visibility in some levels, as well as difficulty differentiating between armored enemy types. Since then, we’ve been hard at work polishing up some changes with the help of feedback and are happy to present you with the second iteration of this change.

Huge thank you to everyone who provided suggestions or information about this. :steamdance:
What's next?
Don't let this small hotfix fool you, we've got tons planned for Pistol Whip this year. We went over a few of these plans in our most recent update, but some highlights include the Heartbreaker Trilogy slated for release this summer, as well as the first Action Pack, later this year. Check out our roadmap announcement for details on this, and more.

The End is Nigh... Will You Survive "Religion"?

Welcome to Religion, the epic finale to our five-part regular updates, launching today with 3 difficulties, a new John Wick-inspired pistol collection, and the first iteration of a new enemy shader designed to give more vibrancy and colour.

Religion is the pinnacle of our orchestral and cinematic action soundtrack, bringing you through a brutalist and sci-fi-inspired cityscape and into a tough-as-nails bullet hell. This is our most intense scene yet—equal parts “Death” and “High Priestess”—boasting a five-and-a-half-minute gauntlet of pure physicality that's sure to push even you most seasoned players to your limits. You may also recognize the brutal sounds of BTSM and Lektrique as they cap out our first season of updates with their instrumental masterpiece.

From High Priestess to Religion, we’ve delivered a five-track variety pack of free new scenes on top of our base launch soundtrack, showcasing a broad range of styles, environments, aesthetics, and themes. While John Wick was our beginning, the future of Pistol Whip aims beyond expectations.

Religion may be the final entry to our regular content updates, but this is not the end of the game. We've now transitioned into our long-term roadmap, leading to a game-changing update planned for later this year. You can check out the full roadmap in our announcement video below:

We hope you enjoy Religion, and we can't wait to bring you more kick-ass content in the months to come. In the meantime, come join us on social media @pistolwhipvr or pistolwhip.gg to tell us what you like and what you can't wait to see.

Survive Dirigible Danger in Free "Dark Skies" Update

Gear up for our newest content update packed with antique action in the 194X alternate history scene "Dark Skies". Set in a dieselpunk dirigible, Dark Skies draws action inspiration from the classic airship scene in Ninja Gaiden, as well pulp comic lineage from Rocketeer to The First Avenger. The Dark Skies Update also includes 3 new wartime pistols as part of the "Antiques Collection" and a new metal finish for all weapons.

Dark Skies is our first update to include polish and quality of life changes, with a focus on improved usability of UI and menus. We have a big overhaul planned for later this year, and these changes are just the beginning.

Dark Skies is the penultimate entry to our monthly Pistol Whip updates as we begin to move toward our long-term roadmap. We have a big vision for Pistol Whip including new scenes, new modifiers, and new ways to play, always empowering your unique styles.

We hope you enjoy the Dark Skies scene and pistol collection in this highly thematic update. Let us know what you think in the forums, on our discord, or on twitter @PistolWhipVR!
