We know you’ve been waiting patiently for this update, so we’ll get right into the good stuff. Hotfix v1.5.54.175 is now live, bringing some much-needed fixes to bugs introduced by the recent Holiday Update.

• Adjusted content locks so that accessibility Modifiers are never progress-locked, even for new players.

Earlier in November, we celebrated Pistol Whip’s third anniversary and now, we’re excited to announce our plans for the rest of 2022 and early 2023:

• Pico®4 Launch. Pistol Whip will make its debut on Pico 4 headsets on December 15, 2022.
  
• Official Modding Tool. Titled Pistol Mix, the officially supported community modding tool for Pistol Whip on PC VR will roll out in 2023.
  
• New Scenes Coming Soon! Overdrive is a major content update on the horizon, with multiple brand-new Scenes for players to sink their teeth into. Arriving throughout Spring 2023.

Kick off the holidays with Pistol Whip’s latest quality-of-life update! Our team has completely overhauled the user experience, significantly improving the HUD, tutorials, score kickers, and more. Changes made possible thanks to valuable community feedback from players like you!



[h2]Improved User Experience[/h2]

First up in our list of upgrades, menus are more straightforward than ever, with a fresh redesign that clearly displays and briefly describes all of the game modes at your disposal! The HUD system has also been overhauled and now includes a settings toggle that can make it static. You can keep your HUD mounted to your headset, or you can enjoy the new static setting with the switch of a toggle in your in-game settings menu.

That’s not all! We’ve also introduced a new unlocking and pop-up system to ease new Action Heroes into the Pistolverse.

Brand new tutorials also debut in this update to help new agents dive into the action!

[h2]Quality of Life Improvements[/h2]

Last but certainly not least, score kickers have been modified to improve visibility and now display the total amount of points an Action Hero receives. Additionally, a revolving door has been implemented in-game to let players exit in style!

[h2]Pistol Whip “Holiday” Update Changelog[/h2]

• New User Flow improvements: modified how new users are introduced to the game
  
• Added 4 new advanced tutorials: Beat, Accuracy, Recovery, Dodging
  
• Revised the Menu System
  
• HUD System improvements: Full visual refresh on the HUD and added a static HUD option
  
• Score Kicker improvements: revamped how scores are displayed in-game
  
• Added a Dual Wield option when selecting a scene
  
• Added a revolving lobby door - now exit the game in style!
  
• General bug fixes and performance improvements
  

So what exactly does “regular content” mean anyway? Well, the first iteration of Pistol Whip hit stores on November 7 2019, and since then, there have been 12 major updates to add new Scenes and blood-pumping beats, new weapons and game modes, features and cosmetic changes, and two awesome campaigns.

For three years, Pistol Whip has been the vessel for players to become the star of their own action-movie, blasting through cyberpunk cities, alien attacks, robot revenge, the wild wild west, and so much more.

Just like the game we make, our team is unstoppable, so get ready to boot up those headsets soon. Over the course of the next year we’ll be throwing new stuff at you left and right.
