My Time At Sandrock's multiplayer beta next week will be set in a simulation

Snazzy Stardew Valley-like town simulator My Time At Sandrock is running its first open beta for multiplayer next week, allowing owners of the game to hop into a separate multiplayer area set in a "semi-fictional" version of Sandrock's past that includes "compressed stories happening 50 years before single-player events". A pseudo prequel is an interesting form for a multiplayer mode to take, especially considering this is the pseudo sequel to My Time At Portia.

The beta will run from January 12th - January 20th, after which any progress you've made will be wiped.

Multiplayer Open Test Preview

Howdy all,
The open testing will begin on:
January 12th at 7 pm. | January 12, 10:00 PM ET | January 13, 04:00 CET.
Let's see what's new this time!

Updated story background
Players will now use special equipment invented by Qi to enter the Meta area world (Multiplayer) and experience a "semi-fictional" version of the history of Sandrock as compressed stories happening 50 years before single-player events. Due to this, some events and NPCs might differ from the single-player story.

Expand your commerce guild to unlock more features
The commerce guild has been upgraded to level 20 and equipped with new machines and sensors to match the new levels.

Advanced Town Management System
Now allows town owners to kick out inactive players. Transferring between towns has also become more flexible and agile, and town owners can manage builder access, set up private rooms, and invite specific players to join their team (Note that this correlates positively with player contribution and level. More payouts may be required to remove important players from the team)

More types of Multiplayer co-op commissions
A newly added co-op commission board in the shared workshop. These commissions will provide teams with more co-op missions (workshop/hunting/planting) and rewards for improving workshops and commerces. More importantly, you can count on your teammates as your quest progress is shared!

Planting system
The planting system and orders have been added to multiplayer mode, allowing you to farm your workshop with your friends/teammates.

Team adventures!
Hazardous ruins will be open for the multiplayer mode. You can explore the ruins with your friends and face challenges together.

In-game announcement
The in-game announcement system will keep you up-to-date on game updates and server maintenance.

During the open test, you will find several other additions, such as a new monster Scrooge Mcmole, a mounting system, attribute-affecting furnishings, chat optimizations, and more.

We will be gathering and collecting your valuable feedback and will announce a date for Multiplayer Early Access at a later time. Keep an eye out for updates from us!
