Anniversary Dungeoneering with the devs!

As you probably know, on November 5th last year, Chicken Police: Paint it RED!, our first standalone game, was released with the help of HandyGames (huge thanks to them from here too!)

The reception of the game was cluckin' mind-blowing, we couldn't really get our head around it for a long time, but we didn't have much time to think either, because we started working on the fixes and updates right away to make the best experience possible with our first game as The Wild Gentlemen. (hope it worked!)

It was a super-fast year, so it came as a pretty big surprise when it was over and we had to think about how to celebrate the game's 1st anniversary. What do we do?! (especially at the start of a new wave of covid...)

Finally, we chose to be totally honest with ourselves, so we had a big (but also super-modest) nerd party with the team; we broke into a dungeon where every console and platform since the 60s was present. You can probably guess the next... (yeah, it involves an Unreal Tournament party, a Wizard of Wor match, and some Time Crisis too!!!)

There was a cake, of course, and then we summed up the year and discussed future projects (which are top-secret right now) to end the event with a chat until dawn. - Unfortunately, since the constant Covid waves, it is extremely difficult to bring the team together under one roof, so every occasion like this is like an anniversary anyway. (by the way, if you're ever in Budapest, be sure to stop by "JátechTér"! The pictures don't do justice to how many awesome things you can see and play there!)

Our final conclusion is that we are tremendously grateful to you, the players, who passionately love our team, our work, and of course Chicken Police that we have sacrificed so much and worked so hard to create. It's a cliché, yes, but we couldn't have done it without you, this "castle of awesomeness" we are building would have fallen down a long long time ago - or rather, it wouldn't have been built in the first place...

All in all, we don't want to make this too long, so thank you again for being so positive, supportive, and great, and being with us, spreading our story to the world.
Be good, be well, play more, love more, and always look after each other!
1st Anniversary & MacOS

This week marks the first anniversary of Chicken Police - Paint it RED! and with it, we're happy to say that the game now supports MacOS.

What a year it has been. We've been overwhelmed with positive feedback from all over the globe since we released Chicken Police last year. It's truly the best feeling when a project that so many people have put so much time and effort in finds a community of people who love it as much as we do. So more than anything: Thank you from The Wild Gentlemen and HandyGames!

Over the last year, the talented Wild Gentlemen from Hungary have worked tirelessly to fix bugs and update the game further and further. We believe that with the latest patches and the Director's Cluck Edition, Chicken Police has reached it's full potential and is the best version it can be.

Thanks to the great success of the game, we've been able to finalize the MacOS version, which means that if you've already bought Chicken Police and want to play it on a Mac, you can do so right now. And everyone who waited for a great game to play on their Mac. Now is your chance.

Thanks for playing and have a fantastic day!

THE 'DIRECTOR'S CLUCK EDITION' UPDATE IS HERE!
BIG FEATURES:
New notebook notification system: This is the most requested feature from you, guys, so we are delighted to implement this in the Director's Cluck update. You can now see how much new info you have in each category, and we highlight every specific one individually to find them easily.

New function = Detective eye: You have a new icon in the bottom left corner of the screen. If you press this icon, every interactive element will be highlighted on your screen!
SMALLER FEATURES / QUALITY OF LIFE CHANGES:
- If you press the "skip dialog" button the first time, you'll get a warning instead of instant skipping the dialogue instantly. (this occurs just once in a playthrough!)
- We have new and convenient popup tutorial messages if you look at your inventory or your notebook for the first time. (this also occurs just once in a playthrough!)
- You'll get a warning message every time you click or press a button while a cutscene is playing, preventing accidental cutscene skipping.
- You can now change categories in the notebook simply by turning pages.
- We have a new gradient-black background behind our platform-specific elements to improve readability while playing with a controller.
- We tweaked the left and right scrolling threshold heavily to prevent accidental scrolling while you want to press or click on a button in the corner of the screen.
BUGFIXES AND TWEAKS:
- You don't get Ibn's 7th personal info early anymore (which caused some spoilers and confusion).
- Fixed some Japanese typo issues and minor translation mistakes.
- We fixed plenty of English typos and mistakes.
- The jukebox now doesn't play songs that you haven’t discovered yet.
- Car chase minigame is way smoother (and somewhat easier) now.
- We updated the zipper animation and controls in the zipper minigame for a smoother zipping experience.
- We added some UI refinements regarding the options menu, controller mappings, clue-connector texts, and more.
- There were several routes to achieve 100% on some of the questionings. Now there is just one per suspect.
- The rope minigame was too hardcore because of the speed of the fire effect, we tweaked that for a better experience.
- There was a possible softlock issue on the clue connector. It's now gone.
- We fixed a camera-related bug that sometimes happened when you zoomed in and out which could cause some annoyance.
- We managed to add more than 50+ other minor bug fixes and tweaks!
'Behind the Art and Magic of Chicken Police'
The Artbook DLC is now available to download for free, giving you a glimpse into the making of the game, meeting the team, and seeing old concept art and other early iterations that we've never published anywhere before!
Farewell for now...
We're thrilled that so many of you are interested in our game, love it, and spread the word, so please don't stop and stay tuned because we'll be back with something astonishing soon.

Stay well, look after each other, drink lots of water, watch out for the animals and don't forget to play more!
