Destiny 2 PC players - don't tab out before crucible matches

Destiny 2 players on PC have been urged not to tab out and change video settings when loading into or during PvP due to an in-game error that will kick them from matchmaking. This is a cause for concern for those playing competitive PvP game modes such as Trials of Osiris as being ejected from too many games within a short span of time can result in temporary bans from matches.

Bugs and errors do happen from time to time, but what makes this situation special is the errors seem to be a temporary fix implemented by Bungie themselves. Courtesy of Forbes, the error has been purposefully implemented to tackle an exploit that some players have been using to generate Orbs of Power that provide super energy when picked up. If used in PvP, this exploit allows players to generate a huge number of these orbs that provide a massive advantage. The exploit is easy to replicate, and makes use of windowed mode to generate the orbs.

According to Forbes, Bungie has been aware of this bug for some time, but the recent publishing of a video showcasing the bug has forced them to implement a temporary fix while they work on a way to eliminate the exploit. In a perfect world, the bug would have flown under the radar until they nipped it in the bud, but it seems like this workaround allows Bungie to stop the exploit.

This Week At Bungie – 10/21/2021

This week at Bungie, we look to Trials Freelance, fashion, and pumpkins.

Festival of the Lost is in full swing! If you haven’t donned a mask and earned some candy yet, get to it. Eva has goodie bags, Exotic cosmetics, and a refreshed collection of fun masks for you to earn over the course of the event. Word on the street is that Public Events are the go-to for Spectral Pages nowadays, so if you’re still on the hunt for a perfectly rolled Jurassic Green Pulse Rifle, join some friends to jam ‘em out!

If you’re looking for a challenge outside of the Festival, we have a few options for you. Grandmaster Nightfall features Exodus Crash this week, sending shivers down the spines of many Guardians who’ve been with us since Destiny 2 launched all those years ago. The Comedian Shotgun and Shadow Price Auto Rifle are dropping from Nightfalls this week. If you’d like a shiny Adept version, Grandmaster is the difficulty for you. Shattered Realm and Astral Alignment can also be played at Legend difficulty to round out a few Triumphs for the Seasonal “Realmwalker” Seal. Sure, you can try to take on the challenge with smaller fireteams or even solo, but we highly recommend forming a fireteam before taking the plunge.

This weekend will be host to a few things. We have our second Trials Labs offering at 10 AM Pacific tomorrow, and a few FotL-themed contests to kick off.

Игроки недовольны: Bungie будет взимать дополнительную плату за подземелья в Destiny 2: The Witch Queen

Bungie says next year's Destiny 2 dungeons won't be included in the season pass, and some players aren't happy

Bungie has confirmed that the two Destiny 2 dungeons planned for release in 2022 will not be included in their respective season passes, and will instead be sold separately. Traditionally, season passes have been the source of most new content released between expansions, usually in the form of new seasonal activities and exotic missions. Some players thought, as a result, that the new dungeons would follow this trend. It turns out that's not the case...

Destiny 2 will charge you extra for dungeons from Witch Queen expansion onwards – and fans aren't happy

It looks like you're going to have to pay extra to access the new dungeons coming to Destiny 2 with the Witch Queen expansion in Year 5 of the game.

That means, if you want to acces all the content that's going to arrive throughout the life of the expansion, you're going to have to commit $79.99 or £69.99 to the game for the deluxe edition of the DLC.

They will also be offered up as seperate purchases, though that's small comfort for some fans who are beginning to question the developer's monetization model (especially since it was only a few weeks ago that we learned Bungie would be removing the paid Forsaken expansion from the game, too).
