Xbox Game Pass is losing a charming indie game later this month

Xbox Game Pass always sees games come and go, and this month it sees titles like MLB The Show 21 and indie game Pathway leaving the service.

Sorry baseball fans, your chance to knock one out of the park in specifically the year 2021 is running out soon, as from April 16 MLB The Show 21 will no longer be available to play on Game Pass. Which includes both the Xbox One and the Xbox Series X|S versions of the game. This probably has something to do with the fact that MLB The Show 22 is out tomorrow, April 5, and will be available day one on Game Pass. So we're not that sorry, as you can still get all your wooden bat needs soon enough anyway.

What we are sorry about is that the beautiful Pathway is also being removed from Game Pass PC, also April 16. A couple of years ago, Pathway was available as a free download on the Epic Games Store, in line with an update at the time. It's a turn-based tactics game set in 1936 in which you try to prevent Nazis from hidden treasure in Northern African temples, which is in general a good thing to do.

This Week At Bungie – 3/31/2022

This week at Bungie, it’s Mechs vs Monsters... evolved!

It’s officially been over a month since The Witch Queen launched. Savathûn has been defeated. Rhulk dished out some literal kicks to the face in Vow of the Disciple. Worms have been launched, weapons have been crafted, and Guardians have dug deep into the Seasonal story. We had an accolades trailer released this week with some fun quotes about the experience of playing the expansion. We’re proud of where The Witch Queen landed, and we’re ever-thankful to all who jumped in to play.

Don’t get us wrong, the train doesn’t stop with some nice quotes about the game! The future is bright, and we have work to do as we reach further into the stars. Season of [REDACTED] is just a couple of months out, and the team is hard at work tying down work items and jamming through test passes. Once we get a little deeper into the Season, we’ll start talking about what’s to come in sandbox updates, general quality-of-life passes, and more. We have a few beats on our calendar to hit before then, spread between Grandmasters, Gambit Labs, Trials Labs, and Guardian Games. Next week is a bit packed, so we’re spending some time this week breaking it down. First up, we have a fun community vote to discuss...

Destiny 2 cosmetic event pits mechs against monsters this April

It’s that time once again - the Destiny 2 annual skin clash is back and this time has a new and improved selection of monsters vs mechs, with the winner securing a spot in the Destiny 2 cosmetic store in the near future. Every Destiny 2 player willing to sign up for emails from bungie will be able to vote for their team of choice, with the winner being added into the game later this year.

Polls for the community vote open April 7, and run almost a full week until April 13. At that point, the votes will be tallied and everyone who participated will be rewarded with an exclusive Broken Barriers Emblem for free. As such, even if you don’t think your team of choice will clutch out a win this year round, it’s worth making your voice heard.

Let's take a closer look at these designs, starting with the monsters. To the left we have a cyclops / monkey hybrid mostly covered in sleek metallic armour except from your da’s hairy legs dominating the bottom half. Next up we have a cool fish set taking centre stage, packing an illuminated visor and elbow pads for lighting up deep dark places. FInally, and this is by far the best skin, we have a super unsubtle godzilla set on the right - paired with giant tail cape. This is rad, and frankly carries the Monster team on its lonesome.

Bungie files lawsuit over "fraudulent" DMCA takedowns of Destiny videos

Earlier this month, several Destiny 2 videos created by fans were removed from YouTube due to the filing of DMCA takedown notices. Bungie tweeted that they weren't responsible, but that they were "aware of a series of copyright takedowns" and were actively investigating. Some of their own videos had also been taken offline.

Now Bungie have filed a lawsuit in Washington against ten John Does, hoping to make an example of those who filed the "fraudulent" takedown notices.

Bungie slams YouTube for DMCA 'security loophole' and lousy customer service

Bungie has launched a lawsuit against the perpetrators of last week's "fraudulent" Destiny 2 video takedowns, saying that the removal of community-created videos caused the studio "significant reputational and economic damage." The suit is also highly critical of YouTube's "easily gamed reporting system," which it cites as the primary reason that the attack on Destiny 2 content creators was successful in the first place...
