Garden of the Sea (VR) News

We’re thrilled to welcome you back to Garden of the Sea, for the first time playable outside of VR. In the real world!

Garden of the Sea (as we suspect most of you know) was originally released across various VR platforms but through our desire to bring it to even more players it brought the creation of our first ever non-VR title.

Translating the game from VR to a more traditional format has been full of challenges and enjoyment both! We won’t go into deep detail on that today (though I’m sure we will in the future!). For now we just hope you will all enjoy the fruits of our creation in Garden of the Sea!

For our seasoned players, we hope this will allow you to introduce the world of Garden of the Sea to your friends and family that might have yet to be able to experience it!

For those of you who already own Garden of the Sea for VR but want to give the game a go playing with gamepad or mouse and keyboard we've set up a bundle that should allow you to get the non-VR version at a permanent discount.

Hello friends!

We're so excited to let you know Garden of the Sea is arriving on Steam and the Nintendo Switch for non-VR users on October 3rd! As the real world may be hard and cold but in this version of Garden of the Sea we hope to invite more players to a soft and warm place.

In case you didn’t know, this is going to be the Steam version of our cozy first-person VR farming sim. We’ve modified it to be playable on PC and are really happy with the results, so we’re hyped to get it in your hands!

We invite you to:

• Grow your garden
  
• Nurture and pet your local creatures
  
• Upgrade and furnish your home to your liking
  
• Adventure across the open seas and explore the lush islands of this world

This world is your own!

Garden of the Sea will be our first ever non-VR title and while our hearts rest firmly in VR development, we could not be more excited to bring one of our games to a new set of players!

Hello everyone!!

We revealed some super duper exciting news at the Wholesome Direct this weekend: Garden of the Sea is getting a non-VR version!!

We know some folks have been eyeing our game, which was originally released in 2019, but don’t play in VR, or have wanted to share this game with friends who don’t have VR. We also know that we’ve gotten such a lovely reception on our cozy farming sim that it felt like a waste of an opportunity to not try making it playable for way more people. So behold: later this year, we’re releasing Garden of the Sea, with all of its original features and charms, on Steam! It will have mainstream controller support, and SteamDeck compatibility, so you can just sit back and relax while fishing, watering your plants, or petting the native creatures that live on your island.

We hope you’ve enjoyed a look at our game that’s chock full of fun things to do and relaxing vibes (which we could all certainly use more of during these times)! Please feel free to wishlist it if you like what you see (it helps indies out a lot) and follow us on our socials!

[h2]Hi Gardeners! Here's a small update that fixes some of the newfound bugs in the Adventure Update![/h2]



[h3]Full Patch Notes:[/h3]

• Fixed a bug that caused multiple assets to spawn instead of the bird bath received from rafts upon loading a saved game
  
• Updated some incorrectly assigned assets store prices and sellable properties
  
• Fixed collision issue with certain colliders
  
• Whale should now look at-follow food held by the player
  
• Whale can no longer be interrupted when trying to dive
  
• Whale hunger increment should no longer ramp up as fast
  
• Whale sound and effects should now change based on growth
  
• Dragonsheep should now be able to move around on its own at the new island
  
• Added a fix to reactivate tools that somehow was saved as inactive
  
• Fixed a bug that could in some rare cases cause excatavable totemheads to not be activated when opening their map's mission beacon
