Neverwinter: Storm King's Thunder is Live!

Greetings, adventurers!

Storm King’s Thunder calls heroes to Icewind Dale to solve a deadly mystery and recover an ancient artifact of immense power: the famed ring of winter. The ring has been seized by the fierce frost giant Jarl Storvald, who is attempting to control its powers and use it to freeze the oceans, blanketing the world with snow and ice. Orcs, goblins, barbarians, trolls, and other monsters are gathering in the north, ready to pledge fealty to Jarl Storvald should he succeed. This of course is causing havoc in the northern settlements of Ten-Towns.

There are other reasons to venture into the cold. The frozen lands of the north, once the center of the ancient Ostorian Empire, is littered with relics from that long-forgotten time. Those Ostorian relics now lie in dangerous places. They are well worth the risk of acquiring, for they are infused with Voninblod, the ancient power of the giants of old.

This exciting expansion introduces a new campaign that has heroes adventuring in three new wilderness zones, Bryn Shander, Lonelywood and Cold Run, culminating in our most challenging dungeon yet, Fangbreaker Island.

In addition to the new content we’ve listening to you and have been working hard to make changes in Neverwinter, in particular this time around with Class Reviews for the Hunter Ranger, Scourge Warlock, and Guardian Fighter. We made quite a few changes before the Class Reviews went to the Preview server, and then had lots of back and forth discussions on the preview forums, making additional changes and bug fixes with the support and assistance of our awesome preview player base!

Here's a list of some of the major features:
Three new zones: Bryn Shander, Lonelywood, and Cold Run
Ostorian relics system
New Dungeon
Class Balance updates for three classes: Hunter Ranger, Guardian Fighter, and Scourge Warlock
Runic Lockbox

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to adventuring with you in the Storm King’s Thunder! I’ll be the one wearing a big scarf!

Storm King's Thunder Coming August 16

We’re proud to announce Neverwinter: Storm King’s Thunder is coming to PC on August 16! In just under one month, adventurers will be able to investigate the sudden return of giants to the Sword Coast in our tenth expansion, which coincides with Wizards of the Coast’s new adventure.

In order to fight off these colossal invaders, adventurers must return to Icewind Dale and team up with characters from Dungeons & Dragons lore, including Catti-brie and Wulfgar, characters created by acclaimed author, R.A. Salvatore.

Storm King’s Thunder introduces three new adventure zones for high-leveled players where the story missions will take place – Bryn Shander, The Lonelywood and Cold Run. After completion of the new campaign, a new dungeon by the name of Fangbreaker Island will be available to delve into, offering a challenge unlike any other.

Our first step into the much-anticipated class balance arrives with this expansion where the Hunter Ranger, Scourge Warlock, Guardian Fighter and Great Weapon Fighter will undergo overhauls to make different paths more viable. These changes are currently on Preview if you’d like to check them out.

We have more information coming soon in our series of developer blogs leading up to August 16. Keep an eye out on our social channels and news page to stay up to date on all things Storm King’s Thunder.

The Maze Engine: Guild Alliances is Live!

Gather your allies!

Hey folks! We’ve been listening to your feedback and working hard to improve the overall Neverwinter experience. With our new update, we’re doing a number of things to improve the quality of life. This ranges from giving guilds the tools they need to band and grow together, to helping guide players through their overall journey across the Sword Coast.

We’re also continuing to work on class balance (which is going through internal testing right now, but will be out on our preview shard in the near future) and general bug fixes.

But that’s not all! We’re also working hard on a number of upcoming events, including Neverwinter’s third anniversary and our ever-popular summer event. We’ll have more on both of those soon, so be sure to check back regularly!

Thanks for reading and I can’t wait to see you in game!

Announcing Neverwinter: Storm King's Thunder

Giants will return to the Sword Coast when Neverwinter: Storm King’s Thunder strikes on to PC in August 2016! In Neverwinter’s tenth expansion, adventurers will experience an uprising of giants, which follows the upcoming tabletop expansion from Wizards of the Coast.

Adventurers will travel north to Bryn Shander - capital of Icewind Dale - to investigate the sudden presence of frost giants in the region. No visit to Icewind Dale would be complete without the help of Catti-brie and Wulfgar - characters from R.A. Salvatore’s novels - who will aid adventurers in their quest to stop the invading giants.

High-level adventurers will also experience a new campaign, which will take them across three new adventure zones and story content for Neverwinter: Storm King’s Thunder. In addition, our newest expansion will introduce a new tier of Dungeon for adventurers seeking a challenge.

We’ll reveal more detailed information in the future, so stay tuned. Make sure to follow us on Twitter, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube channel.

Neverwinter: Storm King’s Thunder will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation®4 at a later date.

Announcing The Maze Engine: Guild Alliances!

In our continued effort to improve the quality of life for Neverwinter, we’re releasing a new update on June 7. The Maze Engine: Guild Alliances will contain several improvements to existing systems or content, which we’ll reveal as we approach the update’s release.

As the name states one of the major system changes will be guilds and strongholds. Previously, smaller guilds had a rough time donating to their coffer and keeping up with larger guilds who would unlock boons and gear at an accelerated pace due to their membership. We’re introducing alliances as a way for more adventurers to play together, organize events and to strengthen their stronghold. More information on alliances will be released in the near future!

A second major change coming will be Sword Coast Chronicles: a campaign of campaigns, if you will. This storybook-like interface will seamlessly mesh all campaigns together so adventurers won’t be intimidated when they hit level 70. Sword Coast Chronicles will guide new adventurers through the recommended order of post-70 content and will contain unique rewards.

Much like The Maze Engine, there’s much more around every corner and will be revealed soon!
