Next Fall Guys patch will address the top five most frequent crashes

After a busy launch month, Fall Guys is getting a major patch next week that will bring a selection of tweaks to the battle royale game, as well as remedy some of the more common glitches and bugs.

Developer Mediatonic preemptively released the patch notes on Twitter, listing all the changes coming to the multiplayer game. To start, the algorithm will now only select team games if there's an even number of players. A gameplay exploit in Jump Showdown will be stopped, and some of the surfaces in Slime Climb altered so players can't grab them. Text is being changed in the in-game store to prevent accidental purchases, and some outfits are getting visual fixes.

Depending on your experience, the most exciting entry is likely that the top five most frequent crashes are being addressed. Being an online game that's only been available to the public a few weeks, it's an unfortunate reality that some unforeseen, major bugs can emerge, crashing the game for some players. From next week, there'll be significantly less of the more common ones to worry about.

Fall Guys has added a Portal 2 P-Body skin, available now

As of right now, if you have Fall Guys on PS4 or Steam, you can get an adorable skin of Portal 2's P-Body for your jelly bean.

The skin was revealed be developer Mediatonic on the official Twitter the same day it became available to purchase in the store of the battle royale game. No price is specified, so be cautious you might need to win a couple of rounds to make up the crowns or currency. This is just the latest piece of cosmetic content that's come to the multiplayer game in collaboration with Valve. There was a Gordon Freeman skin for everyone who pre-ordered, and a Team Fortress 2 skin is on the way.

Valve was well ahead of the curve getting some items onto Fall Guys. The game became a surefire hit before it even properly launched, taking Twitch by storm two weekends running as part of the beta, before then jumping to the number one and number two spots of the Steam top-sellers list. Demand is now high among the industry at large to get a squidgy skin of their own, Konami, CD Projekt, and Digital Extremes all expressing genuine interest.

Fall Guys season 2 will be revealed at Gamescom

Fall Guys is here to stay, and as with all modern multiplayer games, that means a regular array of seasonal content to keep players hooked. The game show battle royale isn't even a month old yet, and developer Mediatonic is already preparing to lift the veil on Fall Guys season 2, as part of the Gamescom Opening Night Live presentation.

We'll get a "world premiere sneak peek" trailer at Fall Guys season 2 on Thursday, August 27, during Gamescom Opening Night Live, which starts at 11:00 PDT / 14:00 EDT / 19:00 BST. The Geoff Keighley-hosted presentation will basically be an E3-style press conference featuring a variety of developers and publishers.

The in-game countdown clock puts the Fall Guys season 1 end date at October 6, so that's when season 2 should get underway. It might seem a little soon for developer Mediatonic to be talking about season 2, but given how little we know of the plans for future Fall Guys content - and how successful the game's already been - it'll be good to get a clearer picture of those future plans sooner rather than later.

Fall Guys publisher is sorry for revoking legit Steam keys while fighting scammers

Fall Guys publisher Devolver Digital has issued an apology after accidentally revoking and refunding some players' legit Steam keys for the multiplayer game. The publisher was trying to crack down on scammers who picked up Fall Guys codes for cheap by exploiting regional prices in Argentina. Unfortunately, however, this somehow led to some innocent players getting their new PC game taken off them.

"We made a mistake which resulted in the cancellation of legitimate keys purchased by our community, and we apologise unreservedly for our unfortunate error," the publisher says in a post on its website. "Our team also recently adjusted the price in Argentina independent of this issue as the price Fall Guys launched at within the region was incorrect, leaving those who had their game revoked unable to re-purchase at its original price."

If you have been affected, you should be able to recover your copy of Fall Guys by emailing support[@]devolverdigital.com, according to Devolver. You'll need your details and the email address you used to buy the quirky battle royale game, however.

Fall Guys has started a Twitter brand battle for charity and Warframe wants in

Oh, those naughty Fall Guys! Now they've gone and started an all-out bidding war, pitting clout-hungry Twitter brand accounts against each other for a chance at a coveted Fall Guys skin. The winner will be the brand who pledges the most money toward a UK-based charity that helps players with disabilities.

Ever since Fall Guys launched, official brand accounts on Twitter have been after developer Mediatonic to create crossover skins for the quirky little battle royale game. PC component manufacturer AOROUS, G Fuel energy drink, Chuck E. Cheese, KontrolFreek... even the likes of KFC has been pitching designs to Fall Guys. Today, the Fall Guys official account announced that Mediatonic will accept a pitch from the company that makes the largest monetary pledge to SpecialEffect, the UK not-for-profit that helps gamers with physical disabilities by providing equipment like adaptive controllers and eye control systems.

There's already a pretty intense bidding war underway, and it's produced some designs that are actually cool. Rivals of Aether, a Smash Bros. style fighting game, pledged $10,000 and offered a Fall Guys Ranno outfit. Warframe got in on the action too, upping the ante with a $20,000 pledge and a Lotus outfit.
