Big Tanking Buffs, New Crafting Item, Whirlwind Changes, Fixes

NEW

New Crafting Item - Divine Will: Randomly rerolls the implicit mod of an item. Can include mods exclusive to other item types. New mod is guaranteed to be Legendary. Available from the Item Merchant for 10,000 gold.
TANKING CHANGES

Shield Charge
  • Damage increased from 15x to 20x your shield's implicit mod level.
  • Increased damage area.
  • Can now interrupt other abilities.
  • Now generates 500% threat.
  • Changed SFX to be less "ting" and more "crunch"
Shield Slam
  • Damage increased from 20x to 25x your shield's implicit mod level.
  • Increased damage area.
  • New, faster animation.
  • Threat generation increased from 200% to 300%.
Shield Melee
  • Now generates 300% threat.
  • Updated description to include that this attack has a 10% base chance to hitstun.
Shield Throw
  • Damage increased from 15x to 20x your shield's implicit mod level.
  • Now generates 1000% threat.
  • Cooldown reduced from 6 to 5 seconds.
  • Mana cost increased from 75 to 100
  • Fixed damage bonuses from Mighty Warrior and Precision Fighter not applying.
  • Shield Throw projectile speed increased by 50%
Block: Cooldown between block resets reduced from 0.75 to 0.3 seconds.

Orias
  • Menace Rework: Gain 50% of Max Stamina as Max Health. All damage received is reduced by 20%. All threat generated is doubled.
  • Wardship of Orias: Now continuously taunts all enemies within 2000 range. No longer applies Taunt when dealing damage.
  • Heavy Shielding: Damage reduction bonus while blocking increased from 10% to 15%.
  • Stamina Potion: Your potion also replenishes 1/3 of your Maximum Stamina, or 1/2 of your Maximum Stamina if Health is full.
[h2]OTHER BALANCE CHANGES[/h2]
Whirlwind
  • Reduced damage tick rate by 50% (slower hits)
  • Increased damage from 50% to 100% combined weapon damage per tick.
  • Experimental: Whirlwind now only procs On-Hit effects every other damage tick. This is to help mitigate issues with network saturation.

Dev Notes: Overall this is a big shift for Whirlwind. Poison effectiveness is down significantly, and bleed effectiveness is down a bit, but Whirlwind will generate significantly more hitstuns regardless of equipped weapons or skills due to the larger hits, which should provide more survivability for Whirlwind overall.

Undying Will: Boon Intensity Effectiveness increased from 85% to 100%.
Reduced the sell value of equipment by 20%
Avatar skills no longer have their mana cost increased by Heightened Spell talents.

  • Stash now opens to Tab 1 by default.
  • The active stash tab is now highlighted.
  • Boss special attacks and projectiles can now destroy destructibles.
  • Destroyed trees are now removed faster.
  • Mystic Arrow: New Icon
  • 2H Melee Attack: Updated description to include that this attack has a 10%, 15%, or 20% base chance to hitstun based on weapon type.

Invasion Loot Buffed, Support Rebalancing, Fixes

NEW
Talent tree buttons now show how many talent points have been invested in that tree.

BALANCE
  • Improved Invasion loot scaling (see before and after pics of loot from a single level 70 Invasion)
  • Improved Blink direction accuracy and fixed some scenarios where input direction would be ignored
  • Spellblade now applies to all targets hit by the spin attack from Orias: Weapons Training

MORE SUPPORT CHANGES
  • Boon Intensity mod per level scaling reduced from .4% to .25% per level
  • Boon Intensity passives increased from 2.5% to 4% per point
  • Single-Boon Entanglements: Intensity bonus increased from 1.3x to 1.5x
  • Glorious Entanglement: Intensity bonus increased from 1.1x to 1.15x
  • Undying Will: Max Resist gained increased from 1% to 1.5% of Boon Intensity

Updated Benefactor's description to include Entanglements.

FIXED
  • Fixed Entanglements not consuming mana in Town for clients
  • Fixed some networking wonkiness with Wrath of Ehtiras

4 New Support Skills, Dying Wish and Course Correction Changes

Dying Wish and Course Correction can now be used on Crescendo'd items. (Dev Note: I want you to be able to experiment with new skills and change your loadout as needed without being forced to reroll entirely new gear.)
The Skill Merchant now has text search.

New Support Skills - Entanglements
Entangle with an allied player you target. While Entangled and within 1500 range, the Entangled ally gains the specified Boon. Mana is not consumed while out of range or out of combat (Mana is still consumed while in Town to allow experimentation). Activate again to disentangle.

A target can be affected by any number of Entanglements at a time.

It is possible to Entangle two targets with the same Boon by using two Focuses with the same Entangle skill to create two instances of the ability.

Entanglements require an ally in order to be used, so to prevent situations where solo players are stuck with a skill they can't possibly use, the following new skills are available exclusively from the shop and will not roll randomly on gear:

Empowering Entanglement - Applies at 130% strength, 40 mana/second
Undying Entanglement - Applies at 130% strength, 40 mana/second
Quickening Entanglement - Applies at 130% strength, 40 mana/second
Glorious Entanglement - Applies Empowering, Undying, and Quickening at 110% strength, 60 mana/second

Shout Duration Buff

Empowered Shout, Quicken Shout, and Undying Shout durations increased from 4 to 6 seconds.

Shield and Support Update

SHIELD CHANGES
  • Shields now roll a Block % between 15-26%. Higher values are rarer: Roughly 45% of shields will roll 15-16%, and about 5% of shields will roll a base of 26%. Enhanced Shields gain +3% Block per enhancement level.
  • Existing shields will randomly roll a new Block % value.
  • Shields from the shop can roll a maximum of 18% Block.

Orias
  • New T2 Talent - Shatterwall: Enemies shatter upon your defenses. Blocked and Parried hits inflict 1 stack of Shattering on the attacker, causing them to take 3% more damage from all sources for 5 seconds. At 5 stacks of Shattering, the target becomes Shattered, and receives 30% more damage from all sources for 5 seconds.
  • Heavy Shielding Rework: Blocking reduces damage received by an additional 10%. Attack Speed reduced by 15% while blocking.
  • Inspiring Defense removed.
[h2]SKILLS[/h2]
New Skill - Shield Charge: Charge forward with your shield. On colliding with an enemy, bash all targets in range with your shield to hitstun them and deal damage equal to 15x your shield's implicit mod level.

Shield Slam
  • Can now hit multiple targets.
  • Bonus resistance reduced from 25% to 20%.
  • Now increases all Max Resistances to 80% for 4 seconds.
  • Duration reduced from 5 to 4 seconds.
  • Now applies its own unique buff and can be used alongside Undying Will.
  • Fixed Shield Slam not receiving the damage bonus from Mighty Warrior or Precision Fighter.

Riposte
  • Cooldown increased from 1 to 4 seconds (This was not intended.)
  • Now reduces damage by 50%, up from 20%.
  • Damage increased from 150% to 200% combined weapon damage.
[h2]OTHER[/h2]
Blockbreaker attacks now inflict twice as much stamina damage as a normal hit and cancel your block. They no longer ignore a blocking target's resistances.

SUPPORT CHANGES

All shouts are now instant cast.

  • Boon Intensity mod per level scaling reduced from .5% to .4% per level
  • Boon Intensity passives reduced from 5% to 2.5% per point

Undying Will
  • Now increases Max Resistances to 80% + 1% of Boon Intensity (This keeps Undying Will relevant for builds not focused on Boon Intensity)
  • Boon Intensity Effectiveness reduced from 100% to 85%

Sendatu
  • New T2 Talent - Benefactor: Auras and Shouts consume 25% more mana. Boon Intensity increased by 25%.
  • Mystic Palm Technique Rework: Gain 20% Boon Intensity. Gain an additional 40% Boon Intensity for each open hand.
  • Gift of Wisdom moved to T1.
  • Silvertongue removed.
MISC CHANGES
  • Volatile Minions: Now deals 15% of the minion's current health in damage, up from 10%.
  • Increased the amount of time between spider charges.
FIXED
  • Fixed overlapping Consecrations causing issues with the effect of The Ordained
  • Fixed Ravager's hitstun animation placing him in the floor
