Urgent Patch V1.0.2

Hi All,

We have realized that most of you have run into the random spike lag issue, therefore we have worked whole weekend to come out with this urgent patch (PC only at the moment):

-Fixed random spike lag issue so the game can run smoothly now.

-Fixed controller re-map not saving issue.

-Fixed dragon gate vendor that he can now charge correctly.


Sorry to mac users,
Due to a small issue, we need a bit more time to update the mac version, will update as soon as it’s done.

V1.01 Patch

Hi All,

Just an urgent patch update notes:

  • Improved loading speed.
  • Fixed the Sewer door so you can enter as long as you have acquired the key.

Dark Light V1.0 Out Now

Dark Light V1.0 Has Arrived!

We are excited to announce we have completed the early access development of Sci Fi-horror Metroidvania, Dark Light, and officially launched v1.0 of the game.

We want to take the opportunity to thanks every one who supported us during the EA stage. We appreciated constructive feedback, which helped us to shape the game. We have finally made it after
4 years of hard work.

We are a small team of 3 based in Australia and Belgium. Dark light is the first game we developed together. We made many mistakes at early access stage, which we learned it the hard way.

On top of that, we have utilized the these couple of days to achieve below:

-Added 45 steam achievements, improved icon designs
-Cloud save
-Reduce Alpache’s flame trap damage
-End game CGI cinematics
-Updated Gem descriptions for best use against enemies
-Updated Gem smith map Baller trap, it no longer continues to push the player.
-Display map names on mini map UI
-Added UI Sounds
-Added execution attack sound
-Added extra ambiance sound to maps
-Fixed background music stopped playing after portal in
-Added Player death location on the minimap
-Fixed Quest side panel repeating and appearing at the wrong location
-Fixed issue with instant turning during an air combo

What's next:

We will be monitoring this launch closely and patching any issues that arise.

Meanwhile, we will also continue work on:

-Adding a couple of more weapons and enemies.

-Extra game modes, for instance: hard-core mode with scoreboards.

-Variable run / walk control

-system refining optimize gameplay.

In the background, we will also start working on porting to other consoles.

We are self-publishing Dark Light, which means we do not have extra time and resources for marketing effort. Therefore, we are relying on players who enjoyed Dark Light to help us build word of mouth marketing about the game. Following us on twitter or leaving a review will help us grow.

Dark Light Full Release Date is Set!


We are super excited and pleased to announce that our full release date is finally set!
The time will vary a little depending on which time zone you are in.

The Price:
As we have previously mentioned, we adjusted the price from USD14.99 to USD 16.99 in the latest major update. The final price will remain the same.


About Dark Light 1.0 – Content Update
In the 2.5 years long journey since our first EA release in 2020, we have delivered three major content updates. With this final content update, our world is now 5 times bigger than the original. The estimated play time for normal players should be around 20 to 30 hours.
The New World: The Host Towner of Celestial





On top of our existing 5 worlds:
Under city
The Sewer
City of Flesh
The Old Ruin
The Lost Kingdom

We finally can deliver the last world- “The Host Tower of Celestial” to make Dark Light a solid and completed game.

We now have 6 unique worlds, each of them is a biome. The last world will be the most challenging one. There will be more to explore and you will encounter stronger enemies.

New Bosses



Old players, please be expected stronger faction bosses and a fierce final boss.
For new players, we now have 14 major bosses and a number of elite enemies waiting for you to challenge.

New Enemies





We will introduce 2 more categories of enemies, and there will be normal and elite versions of each category, so we now have more than 23 types of enemies.

New Weapons
We will introduce 2 more powerful weapons in the final release.





We now have 7 Range weapons, 8 Melee weapons and 3 throwable weapons.
Player can upgrade the weapons and customize the weapons elementally.

Factions and Skills
In the early stage of the game, players can gain temporary skills from variable totems from different factions. After you are familiar with the skills, you can decide which faction you would like to join and develop their skills by completing quests.
We have 40+ powerful skills in total for players to develop.


Dark Hunter’s Origin & Multiple endings
In the process of exploring the new world, you will be able to discover Dark Hunter’s origin.
During the interaction with the faction leaders, derive different endings, which means every decision you make matters. We have 8 different ending titles for you to unveil.

More Achievements:
We have added 8 more steam achievements.

Other Improvement
On top of the final content, we have also tried our best to accomplish some of the tasks on the refine list, which include:

-Added high light to interactive objects like doors, breakable objects and informative objects.

-Added currency exchange and vault access on portals.

-Enabled trade for health and skill fuel orb with gems (you need to find Gem Smith)

-Improved navigation maps, added more signs.

-Added interactive sound for navigating world map.

After full release, we will be continues working on our refined list.
