Update v0.4 - Gamepad Support and Art Style Improvements

Hey innkeepers!

You can now play the latest update of Travellers Rest!

This new update adds gamepad support, a new control system so that the game can be played exactly the same with a gamepad or a keyboard, a total UI redesign with better resolution and it also adds a new artistic style for the majority of the interior of the tavern.

This update has taken longer than normal due to the wealth of changes to the base code that we’ve had to make in order to adapt the new gamepad control system and the enormous amount of work that went into the artistic style. We are grateful for your patience and hope you like the direction that this game’s development is taking.

As you know, our idea is to remake the artistic style of the game completely. In this version the old and new styles are coexisting, so you might notice abrupt changes in style between zones, objects, people or decorations. In the next few updates, we will change the characters and adapt them to the new artistic style, replace objects that need to be adapted, and will remake the graphical assets for the exterior completely. Once done, the game will have a much more solid and uniform look, and we will expand the content and gameplay mechanics. We ask for your patience and forgiveness for any issues this may cause during the transitional period in advance.

Progress Update for the next patch

Hello Tavern Keepers!

We wanted to take a moment to give you the heads-up on what’s been going on behind the scenes.
We are still a few weeks away from launching the update, but everything looks quite promising indeed.

One of the game’s most requested features, gamepad support, is almost wrapped up, and we are steadily advancing towards a very stable situation wherein you can play both with mouse and keyboard or with a gamepad without having to sacrifice anything. We’re building it from the ground up and with that comes a new and fancy UI which we’re sure many of you will love!

We’re also keeping our art team busy, they are currently in the process of swapping over much of the original art of the interior of the tavern to a higher quality shift, with their work expected to be done In time for when gamepad support wraps up.

After this update our art team will change the player characters and NPC's, as well as the tavern exterior.
