v1.6.1 Gameplay Update

Added a new option after bosses: "Prepare". Allows a non-Basic, non-Misfortune card to be removed.
This can be used to remove cards that for example, work well enough in Acts 1 & 2 but falter against the Act 3 Bosses.

5 new achievements have been added.

Cards in the Collection can now be sorted by Illustator and Seen/Unseen status, and filters can be adjusted by Ascending or Descending order.

When sorting cards based on Seen status, added a tooltip stating that seeing a card in-game is enough for it to count as seen, regardless if it's selected or purchased.
This is only a reminder, not a change to an existing mechhanic.

Thanks to the community's contributions, the following two languages are up to date:
Added Ukrainan translation.
Major update to the Russsian translation.

Maximum Life Cards:

Only one copy of Shapeshift Academy can increase maximum life per combat.
Receive Guidance reworked, no longer provides maximumm life.

New Colorless Neutral card added:"Power of the Ordinary".
Instant Bodhi now provides maximum life. The previous effect was moved to Power of the Ordinary.

Reimu:

Added a new status effect: "Divine Favor".
Cleansing Ritual and Sake Offering have been reworked as Divine Favor cards.
Added a new Rare card:"Hakurei's Providence".

"Maiden's Aerial Dance" has been removed.
Tiny Hitbox is now Common instead of Uncommon.
Homing Amulet now provides mana next turn instead of providing mana based on having Temporary Firepower.
Dance of Sacred Sakura cost loosened: RR→1R。
Hakurei Temple Fair cost loosened: WW→1W。
"Fantasy Seal -Blink-" is now Mono-Red, cost loosened:3WR→4R.

Koishi:

Added several new cards.

Embryo's Dream and Ancestral Dreams now trigger the first Follow-Up card to be discarded by the Dream effect. Their values have been adjusted to compensate.

The amount of Inspiration needed to enter Fugue is now 4.
Epiphany Upgraded cost increased: 1→2.
Kokoro, Awoken Persona no longer reduces cost on Upgrade, Upgraded base Unity and Fugue Active Skill cost increased, 5→6.

Talk Through the Hat cost loosened, G→1,loses Exile on Upgrade.
Hartmann's Youkai Girl now plays the top card of the draw pile on use, and the auto-play effect happens before the draw step.
Embers of Love reworked, now places a high-cost card on the top of the draw pile.
Unleashed Potential reworked, now allows a card from the draw pile to be played twice.
The Butterfly Dream now places its cards on top of the draw pile on use and at the start of turn.

Self-Control reworked
DNA Transcript damage per hit increased by 1
DNA's Flaw cost reduced:2GG→2G.
Perfect Crime now steals Barrier.
Imaginary Danmaku cost increased: 1BB→3B.

Neutral:

Heart Excerpt Slash damage decreased:10/15→8/12.

Summon Take-Minakata now grants 5 Divine Favor on use.
"Bucket Apparition" has been removed.


[h3] Bugfixes [/h3]

Fixed Emotional Surge spawned from Imaginary Danmaku not hitting twice.
Additionaly, relaxed conditional effects so they can trigger either when the card is played or the effect is resolved.

"Fantasy Seal -Silence-" now properly triggers exhibits like Roukanken.

Embrace the Darkness worked by setting the base cost of the card to 0 and didn't account for temporary cost increases. Now it takes them into account.
e.g.: Left-Fan copying a 0 cost card will set its cost to 1, and Embrace the Darkness can now set that copy's cost to 0.


[h3] Modder Relevant Notes [/h3]

Follow-Up cards now support the "play twice" parameter.
Cards can be called as Follow-Ups from most areas in the stack.(Except for PlayArea).

[h3] The 5th Playable Character: Koishi Komeiji [/h3]

Koishi Komeiji has gone out to resolve the incident!
She can switch between three different Mental States, each with a distinct advantage, as well as attack her enemies with Follow-Up Attacks.
She's available on Unlock Level 8.



Right click the game on the Library and go to Properties->Betas->Beta version to try Koishi out early.
As she's currently on the the Beta Branch, her attacks and design are subject to change.
In the meantime, we will continue to optimize her perfomance.

The game has been updated to ver. 1.6.0.9971 . Changes in the last number of the version number will not result in ongoing runs to be discarded.

Added Koishi's boss theme:随心。
Added theme songs for the Act 3 Elites.

Implemented animations for Kappas, Ghost Girls (Sick/Drowned/Lovesick Girl) and Wolf Tengus.

Redid the character starter exhibit sprites.
Updated artwork on several cards.
Various graphical effect tweaks.


[h3] Enemies [/h3]

Added Koishi Komeiji as a boss in Act 1. Currently, three playable characters besides the currently chosen one will be present as options when choosing the boss for Act 1.

Some enemy encounters may now have random enemies, e.g. the Tanuki in 3-1 can transform into either Kanako or Suwako.
Affected encounters:1-2's Poison Doll,、1-3's Five Kedama、2-3's Divine Spirit、3-1's Tanuki、3-2 Kappa (2 Terminators, 1 Kappa)

The final boss's Exhibits now appear in the collection and are unlocked when seen in her combat.

Final boss Exhibit adjustments:
Shining Longbow and Overdecorated Gold Cup have switched groups.
Shining Longbow's Status cards are now split as one in draw pile and one in discard pile.

In a previous version, players fouund Shining Longbow too powerful as a first Exhibit and was swapped with Overdecorated Gold Cup from the second group.
However, Overdecorated Gold Cup's exhibit removal was also seen too unfair in that spot, so the swap was reverted and Shining Longbow was nerfed to compensate.

New order of Final Boss exhibits, listed from earliest to latest.
First:Teapot with Long Spout, Pendants That Emit Evil Spirits. Shining Longbow.
Second:Overdecorated Gold Cup, Pyramid-Shaped Puzzle
Third:Gem-Encrusted Gloves. Winged Key
Sixth(Final):Starred Crystalline Ball


[h3] Other Gameplay Changes [/h3]

Kaguya's Secret Treasures now add one Philosopher's Mana to the mana base.

As part of the Koishi update, we've introduced Follow-Up cards and a special form of them: playing cards twice.
Some cards were adjusted accordingly:
The Reimu card Evil Exterminate now plays attack cards twice.
The Kaguya Treasure Buddha's Stone Bowl causes defense cards to be played twice.
New Neutral card added: Devil's Recitation. Plays Ability cards twice.
The neutral Century's Doppelgangers now causes the first card of each turn to be played twice.
Its original effect as a Super Extra Turn was moved to a new three-colored neutral card:"End of Imperishable Night".
As "End of Imperishable Night" has Shivering Nightmare's colors, the latter was changed into a Blue/Black Neutral card, and its values were adjusted.

The Koishi update has also introduced the keyword: "Dream".
New Neutral card added: Dream Express. An Ability card with a Dream effect each turn.


The less notable changes below were meant for ver.1.5.2 back in July.
Then we felt focusing on rolling out Koishi was more important than messing with some numbers, so they're also applied here.

Propelling Silver was reworked into an Ability that increases the damage output of Throwing Knives.
The Neutral card "Mito no Mitsukuni" has been removed, and Trick Bullets now has a similar optional discard and draw effect

Lunar Cycle Block increased by 1.
Dazzling Dash base cost increased, 2WW→3WW.
Watermelon Knife Firepower decreased by 1
Entrench Body & Counter Danmaku Upgraded values increased, 13→14
Noctilucae's Nest damage decreased 20→18。
Midsummer Flowers Upgraded damage increase value decreased, 5→4.
Garden of the Sun Block decreased by 2.
Beauties of Nature now adds 1 Midsummer Flowers before Upgrade, after Upgrade it adds 2 instead of reducing its cost.
Grudge Returning cost loosened,BG→1H:BG.
Four of a Kind is now Uncommon, damage decreased, 14→12.


[h3] Bugfixes [/h3]

Fixed a softlock caused by Heart Excerpt Slash defeating a Rabbit Trickers when Funds Transfer is Exiled by its effect.
This also fixes an issue caused by a card getting Exiled as another effect attempts to Exile the same card.

Fixed "Fantasy Seal -Silence-"'s Upgrade not increasing its value to or by 25.

All Hands on Deck now correctly Star, Showering Starlight's Lock On if applicable.
The Moon Rabbits now behave like other enemies when attacking the player and triggering a counter effect (Subsequent attacks are cancelled if the counter ends the combat.

Fixed a freeze caused by using Trace On with less than 5 mana in the mana base.
(The fifth card will not appear in this case, and in this scenario Marble Phantasm can only produce cards with total costs of 4 or less)

When both the Upgraded version of Impregnable! and Amulet are present, the latter will not decrement if Lock On is to be applied.

Fixed Remove Impurity and Filthless World not prioritzing cards with Hybrid Costs.

Ibuki Gourd now also checks for cards beiing Exiled or removed, such as a drawn Shining Sword on an empty hand.


[h3] Future Plans [/h3]

We plan to spend the next couple of months on optimizing Koishi's mechanics, values and effects.

Afterwards, we'll be rebalancing the game in general as we also work on Story Mode.
The Final Act will be reworked once again, with new music and and ending sequences for both victory and defeat.

We also plan to implement Steam Community items as much as possible, then we'll proceed to the full release.
There will be content updates past the full release, such as Alice, the sixth playable character.

Time Domination reverted to Uncommon, Time Pulse gain reduced by 1.

Dazzling Dash Reworked: Now a Rare Ability that adds a 0-cost attack card to the hand when a Throwing Knife is played (Time Stop Detective now fills its previous niche as a Firepower booster)
My Knife's Recursions cost loosened 2WW→3W.

Icicle Dance effect standardized: 1/2→2, cost adjusted:UU→1UU/1U.
Wingbeats Flight no longer increases Block gain on Upgrade.

Sculpture - Square (The multiple hits Sculpture) cost reduced by 1
Dreadful Raging Waves damage increased:7→8。
Flash of Spring condition changed to "When the current mana total is greater than the base mana total." Both values will be displayed on the card during combat.
Instant Bodhi now adds a Vitality to the hand instead increasing Temporary Firepower output on Upgrade.
Four of a Kind now provides 1 Firepower, other stats on the card are altered to compensate.


[h3] Bugfixes [/h3]

Boss Marisa is no longer affected by Firepower Down and Temporary Firepower Down to match the description from her Might Makes Right! status effect.
Blossoming Fantasy Seal no longer has its cost affected by Beauties of Nature. (A holdover from a previous version of the latter)
Fixed a rare softlock caused by the final boss's Liberator of Items.

Fixed a softlock caused by Trick of Wicked Hermit attempting to Upgrade a card that was temoporarily Upgraded mid-combat, is present in the hand, and isn't Upgraded in the Library.

Fixed an issue where due to outdated interfaces, Spell Card attacks did not trigger Freeze Shot or Meiling, Neglectful Gatekeeper's effects.
Affected bosses: Sakuya, Cirno, Tenshi, Yuyuko.

Fixed a bug during the Reisen:Assistance From Eientei event, where pressing the 3 key would reward both exhibits even without the High-Grade Handbag.

v.1.5.0 Main Branch Update

With the new updates to card art, v.1.5.0 has been moved to the main branch.

A minor gameplay update patch, v.1.5.1, will be released in the next few days.
Afterwards, we will release the fifth playable character, Koishi Komeiji. We hope she will be released in the main branch before the Early Access Anniversary on August 18th.

[h3] Hybrid Mana Costs [/h3]

Lost Branch of Legend has always had a problem with the context of two-colored cards with odd numbered costs, especially 1-cost two-colors that always end up with a generic cost.
Our solution to that problem is introducing Hybrid Mana Costs.

It's worth noting that while MtG has cards with multiple types of Hybrid Mana on their cards, such Leyline of the Guildpact with its 4 types,
LBoL only allows for one type of Hybrid Cost on its cards, mostly due to a lack of need for multiple types on the same card and to not complicate automatically spending mana on these cards.
In plaintext notation, we'll be using "H" followed by the letters of the colors in that Hybrid cost.
E.g.: H:WR refers to a cost that can be paid with either one White Mana or one Red Mana. 2HH:WG refers to a cost of 2 generic mana and 2 mana that can be paid in any combination of White and Green.

A large number of two-colored cards had their costs changed to Hybrid (In most cases, this is a buff)

New White/Green Neutral Card added: Half-Human, Half-Phantom.
Maiden's Waltz now provides Barrier pre-Upgrade, Barrier output decreased:5→3, Upgraded cost decreased: WR→H:WR.
Around 30 total cards have had their costs changed to Hybrid, check in-game for further details.




[h3] Cirno Rework [/h3]

Cirno's Blue cards have been completely reworked. While she retains her Cold status, her damage output has increased.
Some of her more experimental cards have been removed, while cards that synergise more with Blue's color identity of strong card draw have been added.
The changes are too numerous to list here, check in-game for further details.

The Neutral Card Yuki-Onna Visitation has been removed.

Other Green cards had their values and rarities adjusted.

New Red/Green Neutral Card added: Wind God Girl.
New Three Colored Neutral Cards added:Hell's Animal Realm Road, Magic of the Mallet, Runaway Seasons.

Added a new keyword trait: Gadget. Cards with this trait can only appear in the main eight slots of the shop and have an appearance weight of 2.
New Colorless Neutral Cards added: Cucmber Missile, Clean Energy, Private Radar.




[h3] Other Gameplay Adjustments [/h3]

Reimu Hakurei's Spell Card Omnidirectional Demon Binding Circle no longer produces a Yin-Yang Orb.

After Boss Marisa uses her spell card, on top of increasing its next damage by 5, her other attacks deal 1 more damage.
Reduced the damage on most of Boss Cirno's attacks.
Reduced Fox Youkai's life by 4.
Reduced the initial and additional levels of Poison Death from Dolls of Nerium and Belladona.
The final boss's Pyramid-Shaped Puzzle now also adds a card that allows cards to be drawn past its limit at the cost of life.

Adjusted most Mana Gain cards (For the most part they've been buffed)
Examples include: Sunlight Prayer,Ship's Phantom,News Fabrication.
Other noteworthy changes on Mana Gain cards:
Spring-Colored Path cost increased, 0→1.
"Borrow" Materials now costs 0, only adds one Rainbow.
Short Break now costs 0, adds a Radiance instead of a Rainbow.
Sure Gamble now has Retain by default, Upgraded cost decreased:4U→2U.


Most beneficial effects that trigger when a given card is drawn now occur when such cards enter the hand, such as Forest Adventure and Sight of Distant Blade.

Buffs to X cost cards:
Watermelon Knife reworked to not be an X cost card, now gives Firepower after the attack.
Propelling Silver & Gensokyo's Blossoming damage per mana increased, 6/8→7/9. Propelling Silver also has the target change capabilities of pre-rework Watermelon Knife.

Miscellaneous card changes:
Secret Border Upgraded cost reduced,4W→3W, damage is now the same in both versions, 16/20→18.
Faithful Meditation cost reverted, 1WWW→WWW.
Spread Amulet base version damage increased, 12/14→13/14.
One's Last Home Upgraded cost reduced, 2B→2, Upgrade doesn't increase Block gain.

Mushroom Feast now Common and has Exile, life gain increased: 4/5→5/7.
Hand Warmer now Uncommon, reworked to Exile cards for Concentration equal to cards Exiled, Upgrade adds Innate.
Danmaku Notes Upgraded cost loosened1R→2.
Rocket Broom Upgraded cost loosened:RR→1R.
Red Star Explosion cost loosened:1RR→2R.
Shoot the Moon's Overdrive cost is always 2, Upgrade increases damage and adds Accurate.
Emergency Defense Block increased, 20→21.
Starlight Typhoon base hits increased, 1/2→2/3, Upgraded Starlight Convergence no longer Upgrades its Starlight Typhoon, instead increases its damage. (Still places it on the top of the draw pile)
Replenish Fuel now costs 0 by default, has Exile which is lost on Upgrade.

Purchase Materials Upgraded cost loosened, W→1.
Frozen Time's Upgrade no longer increases retained mana.
Quantum Tunneling cost removed, R→0, damage reduced by 4.

Lost Raiment (Token from The Fallen Moon-Rabbit) cost removed:W→0, now has Replenish.
Bass of Taiko damage increased by 1, Upgraded cost loosened:1R→2.
And Then Will There Be None? Upgraded cost increased, 1R→2R.
Grimoire Study life loss increased, 2→3.
Dance of Empty Masks now applies 3/4 Temporary Firepower Down on use
Faith of Native God life loss increased, 1→2.
Waves of Reversed Scale now has Exile
Century's Doppelgangers now has Ethereal, Upgrade removes Ethereal instead of increasing the card limit on its extra turn.
Water Gun damage increased,25→30.


[h3] Miscellaneous [/h3]

Instances of 10 or more colored mana in text will now display as 10x followed by the mana icon.
Tooltip size now also affects enemy intent size.
It's no longer possible to interact with the hand outside of the player's turn. (This is to prevent softlocks from attempting to play cards outside of the player's turn)

If there are more than five Innate cards (Including the Smart Speaker card) in the library, they will all be drawn on the first turn (this does not ignore the maximum hand size).
Tanuki Suwako's Jinx doesn't trigger on Extra turns, similar to Apex Speedster.
The first choice of the "Miyoi: The Solitary Sommelier" now directly draws from enemy pool with 3-3. If the player makes it there afterward, different enemies than those from the event will be prioritized.
Fixed an issue with the Perfect Elegance bonus being invalidated by entering the Final Act. Now it and the Elegance bonus only check for Acts 1-3.
Fixed cards getting stuck in a 3D rotated state.


[h2] 5/21 Hotfix [/h2]

Overall buff for the new 0-cost cards.
Reduced the costs or otherwise buffed some of the other new cards, such as Wind God Girl.
Memories of the Divine Age cost increased, 0→U, now reduces the cost the cards it draws.

Fixed Melancholy Eruption still discarding cards as per its previous effect.
Fixed Meltdown softlock when targeting a card with a Hybrid Cost. Such cards now produce Philosopher's Mana when Exiled this way.
Fixed issues with conditional triggers like Poison Raze's.
Tao Fetal Movement now also discards Unplayable cards.

The following change was part of the initial patch, but wasn't mentioned in the changelog:
Boundary of Life and Death now has a Growth effect increasing its damage.

[h2] 5/28 Hotfix [/h2]

CirnoA (Blue) complexity level increased from 2 to 3
Ice Lance is now Accurate before Upgrade.
Frosty Garden is now Blue/Green
Ice-Forged Blade reverted to a multihit attack
Flash of Spring damage increased to 24/32, mana requirement reduced, 8/7→6。
Yukari Tips Bag's Extra Danmaku added Shoots increased: 3→5.
Fixed Embrace The Darkness not interacting correctly with cards with Hybrid Costs.
Updated card art.

Cards not in the Card Reward Pool are now indicated as such via a tooltip.

Card Pool Advanced Rule adjustment:
"For cards with mana value 5 or greater that have a generic mana cost component (1, 2, etc.), only their non-generic mana cost will count toward rule 1. These cards' mana costs can be reduced through effects."
For this, "5 or greater" was changed to "greater than 5", and the in-game logic was adjusted accordingly. This is closer to how it was intended to be implemented, and doesn't affect a large number of expensive cards.


[h2] 6/7 Update [/h2]

Implemented animations for Rabbit Tricksters.

Danmaku Deflection, Cucumber Missile, Clean Energy values increased.
Frosty Garden is reverted back to its original version.
Beauties of Nature is now an Uncommon.
Moonlit Lotus has Retain, and one of its mana gain is changed from G to P.
Haniwa Front now has 1/1 initial values.
Runaway Seasons has a cost of 4, and Upgraded Runaway Seasons gives 3 extra Firepower.
Updated card art.

Bug fixed: Spirit and similar status effects cannot increase Defense cards' Block/Barrier value if it has already been decreased to 0 (for example, from 5 Temporary Spirit Down).
Sculpture - Circle and its series of card was unaffected by Echo, now fixed.
The timeframe of Echo-generated card adding to hand is now slightly earlier than when the original card goes to the Discard Pile/is Exiled. This change is an attempt to handle edge cases of when Echo has failed to resolve.

New Cirno card added: Garden Gathering.
Updated card art. Most of the new card now have their art completed, and ver. 1.5.0. will be moved to the main branch.

Pressing F4 can view the BattleLog even in the main branch.
This is only a testing tool used to resolve bugs, and will not have its UI updated.
