Hades, Left 4 Dead 2, Warcraft 3, and more hit the AGDQ 2021 schedule

A new year is coming around the bend, and while it still remains to be seen if the new calendar's symbolic light of hope is justified, we do have at least one unequivocal positive for January: the return of Awesome Games Done Quick, the annual charity speedrunning event. The organisers of GDQ have unveiled the full list of games for January's event, and as always there's some very fun stuff.

AGDQ 2021 will start on January 3 and run through January 10, and as always will support the Prevent Cancer Foundation. As with SGDQ 2020, this will be an online event hosted remotely, as each runner broadcasts their streams from home. Despite the format change, SGDQ 2020 was still quite successful - the second-biggest funding number in the summer event's history - so hopefully AGDQ will follow suit.

The current games list includes things like an all weapons run of Hades, Last Stand and main campaign runs of Left 4 Dead 2, and a Night Elf run through proper, original Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos. We're also going to get a full co-op run of Diablo 3, which should be great at making the wait for the Diablo 4 release date even more insufferable.

Post-Launch Patch - October 27, 2020

This small patch contains assorted balance changes, fixes, and improvements, following our v1.0 Launch Update. We should have another patch in the coming weeks. Thanks very much for playing!!

Infernal Arms, Aspects, & Abilities

• Eternal Spear (Guan Yu Aspect): increased attack damage; improved attack input buffering (you now can Dash between strikes)
📢 Twin Fists (Talos Aspect): increased duration of Magnetized effect
📢 Twin Fists (Gilgamesh Aspect): improved input buffering after Dash-Strike
• Adamant Rail (Lucifer Aspect): increased Bombard special bomb travel speed and detonation speed

Boons & Blessings

• Thunder Dash (Zeus): increased scaling from Poms
• Second Wave (Poseidon): adjusted requirements for this to be offered
• Parting Shot (Athena x Aphrodite): no longer offered while using the Shield's Beowulf Aspect
• Calculated Risk (Athena x Dionysus): increased power level
• Crush Shot (Aphrodite): increased scaling from Poms
• Passion Dash (Aphrodite): increased area of effect and scaling from Poms

Daedalus Hammer Upgrades

• Dash Nova (Blade): now offered while using Aspect of Arthur
• Twin Shot (Bow): reduced penalty to max. range
📢 Draining Cutter (Fists): life-drain effect now activates from Aspect of Gilgamesh Maim damage
• Heavy Knuckle (Fists): increased damage

Foes & Encounters

• 'Trial of the Gods': slightly reduced encounter difficulty in Tartarus
• Wretched Thug: slightly reduced appearance rate
📢 Theseus: improved hitbox of his Zeus lightning enchantment on his spear throw

Voice & Narrative

• Adjusted requirements for several miscellaneous Hermes events that were never playing

Miscellaneous

• Steam: Added choice of rendering configurations when starting the game, including a new Vulkan renderer option, which may lead to better performance and stability on some systems (you can also run this version of Hades.exe directly from the x64Vk folder in your install directory)
📢 Slightly increased chance to find Fishing Points in Chaos
📢 Adjusted timing of when gameplay timer pauses while opening the Codex
