Quote of the Patch
'My son, my son, the unluckiest man alive! This is no deception sent by Queen Persephone, this is just the way of mortals when we die.' ~The Odyssey (Homer; R. Fagles translation)

Hades players aren't petting Cerberus enough

Did you know you can pet the dog in Hades? You can give Cerberus a lovely rub for being such a good, three-headed boy. We presume you might not have known, because according to Steam stats, very few players are doing it regularly.

The revelation comes from the Can You Pet The Dog? Twitter account. From statistics on Steam achievements, 12.1% of players have earned the trophy for petting Cerberus ten times, and frankly, we have questions. Is it because he's so large that some of you are intimidated? Are you just too consumed on obtaining victory in the action-adventure game that you don't think of giving him a wee pat? He might be guarding the Temple of Styx, but earlier he's always there in the House, quietly cheering you on, y'know.

Hades came out of Early Access after nearly two years earlier this month. We gave it a strong review, to say the least, Diego Arguello writing that the RPG game is "perhaps the first roguelike I'd recommend to everyone, regardless of their experience in the genre". It's the latest hit indie game from developer Supergiant Games, who also made Bastion, Transistor, and Pyre.

About the Hades Original Soundtrack

To accompany our v1.0 Launch, we're pleased to offer the complete Hades Original Soundtrack, featuring two and a half hours of stunning music created for the game by our composer and audio director, Darren Korb:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1206340/Hades_Original_Soundtrack/
Even if you've heard the blood-pumping tracks we have released thus far in Early Access, we can confidently say we've saved some of the best for last in this full release! The soundtrack is available digitally here on Steam, and we also offer a physical version on CD or vinyl at our online store.

About the Game
Hades combines the best aspects of our critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you'll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

We designed Hades for Early Access from the ground up to see just what we could create in partnership with our community. After three years in development, the result is by far the biggest, most feature-rich game we've ever made. We hope it captures your imagination right away with its fast-paced action and detailed world, and keeps you discovering new events and possibilities for dozens or even hundreds of hours. For more information, visit the Hades FAQ on our web site.

What's Next?

We put everything we've got into v1.0 of Hades! As always around our game launches or Major Updates, we'll be monitoring this launch closely to ensure it's as problem-free as possible for all players, deploying patches as needed to address any issues. Once we're sure things are in a good spot, our small team will be taking a break to recharge, and plan what's next. Looking further ahead to 2021 and beyond, we'll be excited to say more about what's in store for us just as soon as we're ready.

Thank You!!
Hades was made possible through the 10+ years of experience we've gained working together as a team, and the generous support and enthusiastic feedback provided by our player community during the course of development. Thanks to you, this game grew bigger than we ever expected, and we loved creating it in every detail.
