Community Patch #4

Greetings travelers!
We're excited to share the latest Community Patch, number #4. This update has lots of improvements, changes, and fixes to make your gaming experience better. But before we dive into the details, we want to say as always a big THANK YOU dear Beast community! Your daily feedback and support means a lot to us, and we couldn't have done this without you.
Graphics
  • Visual Update to Camp After Verchovne:
  • Changed visuals on Cemetery map and moved enemy introduction accordingly
UX/UI
  • Added new companion responses to completing or failing their side objectives
Animation:
  • Improved characters rotations in place - turning between 90 - 180 degrees rotation are faster (characters doing one step instead of two)
Balance:
  • Ferocious Strike ability nerf - increased cooldown and reduced hit chance in order to reduce its efficiency when combined with Rampage, Rush and Key Moment abilities
  • Characters encountered on Cemetery map are present during combat instead of recruiting them after the mission
Fixes:
  • Optimized AI planning phase
  • Fixed a potential blocker with game soft locking during enemy turn
  • Fixed an issue with camera not working properly in Ruined Tower: Rescue
  • Fixed an issue with objective requirements during side quest in Verchovne
  • Fixed an issue with some enemy abilities during the Adrianople part of the game not showing properly
  • Fixed an issue with not being able to attack an enemy after it was attacked by another character who get downed during attack
  • Fixed an issue with Stress counter still being visible on the portraits of dead companions
  • Fixed an issue with Accelerate ability reducing Insanity twice
  • Fixed an issue with critical hits from Devil’s Claws ability not finishing off the enemy instantly (if enough damage has been dealt)
  • Fixed an issue with the bottom toolbar disappearing after selecting Options in pause menu
  • Fixed an issue with Defender’s Distractor ability not working properly
  • Fixed multiple issues with attacking a companion inside a burning area
  • Fixed some issues with UI scaling
  • Fixed a discrepancy between Ritual dagger description and actual use effects
  • Fixed a potential issue with Anton dying during ending cutscene of the first bossfight
  • Minor ability descriptions updates

Our Community Patch #3, packed with a host of improvements and bug fixes based on your valuable feedback, is officially live now!

We'd like to express our gratitude to the BEAST community for your continued support and feedback. Your input really helps us make all this a possibility.

  • Visual updates to most cutscenes

  • Visual improvements for Ruined Tower: Carriage
  • Visual improvements for Camp Chase Wagon
  • Updated high Insanity and Beast Mode environment for Plague Town: Hopeless map
  • Updated lighting on most maps

  • Updated armor names from “+1/+2” to “Reinforced/Masterwork”
Animation
  • Minor animation updates and fixes
Balance
  • Stress actions should now properly reduce Action Points for the affected companion’s next turn
  • Removed Stress and Insanity features from Prince and his companions (he’s not the insane one!)
  • It’s no longer possible to stack multiple armor in the character’s equipment
Fixes
  • Fixed a potential blocker with auto leveling characters feature after Plague Town: Market
  • Fixed a potential blocker with a main objective not completing properly during Plague Town: Hopeless mission
  • Fixed a potential blocker with the game soft locking after Townsfolk enemy triggers an Ambush attack
  • Fixed an issue with characters not staying in cover properly after crouching
  • Fixed an issue with Prince party and Igor’s XP level not being displayed properly on the Result Screen
  • Fixed an issue with Christoff and Alfred only leaving footprints with their left feet
  • Fixed an issue with the sound of horse wagon still being heard in the Result Screen
  • Fixed a potential issue with enemies running up to close to player characters when attacking
  • Fixed a typo with Increased Defense status name

BEAST Community Patch #2 is officialy live now! We'd like to express our gratitude to the BEAST community for your continued support and feedback. Your input has been invaluable in making this game even better.
We're excited to announce the upcoming release of our Community Patch #2, packed with a host of improvements, bug fixes, and new content based on your valuable feedback. This patch is a collaborative effort between the development team and the dedicated BEAST community, and we're thrilled to share the details with you.

Community-Requested Features: We've listened to your suggestions and we are implementing several features requested by the community! Do you have any idea how we could upgrade your gaming experience? Feel free to post your thoughts on Steam Forum or join our amazing community on Discord and connect with other players and BEAST Dev Team!

Skip tutorial: We understand that most of players will catch up quite fast what button does what and even if, after you played the tutorial once - who would want to play the tutorial maps each time you make a play-through, am I right?

Now you don't have if you don't want to! Ready to dive into the deep waters from the start? We got you covered!

Here is a little GIF with explanation on how to skip the tutorial and start the game from the creation of your main character! Simply in the difficulty settings mark that you want to skip tutorial and press play!
Do you like challenges? Try to play the BEAST without the tutorial and try to discover how mechanics work without any help! We will throw you into the not so shallow waters from the start! Just create your main character and you will be ready to unleash your inner beast without any delays! On the other hand if you would like to have more chill game? TURN OFF PERMADEATH MODE!

Bug Fixes: Addressed numerous issues reported by the community, including crashes, graphical glitches, and AI behavior problems
Cool feature intro: Igor has learned how to properly make an over watch! Surprise your enemy by being prepared for the attack! Igor can now defend a lot better with this feature added. Now you have an additional tactic in your arsenal!

We are just past the opening of the Early Access and we would like to thank you for being the most amazing community!
We have received a lot of constructive feedback along with congratulations and words of encouragement. Thanks to your amazing activity we have already managed to squash some nasty bugs that have been reported by you!


In this first community patch, we managed to squash some bugs and improve things in cutscenes, SFX/Audio, and UX/UI along with other fixes and implementation of new features. See the full list of updates here:

    Added difficulty options when starting a new campaign
    3 difficulty options: Easy, Normal, Hard
    Added an Ironman mode option when starting a new campaign
    In Ironman mode you only have one autosave slot
    Added a Hardcore mode option when starting a new campaign
    In Hardcore mode allied characters don't go into downed state when their Health reaches 0 but die instantly
    Added Overwatch ability for Igor the Coachman

  • Updated visuals for most cutscenes

  • Changed the character level icon background to yellow, for it to be more easily distinguished from Action Points icon

  • Replaced the generic Unreal Engine application icon with our custom BEAST one
  • Fixed an issue with Health bars not showing for all characters targeted by area of effect abilities
  • Fixed an issue with the player not being able to close Options or Load Game menus while in Pause Menu
  • Fixed a potential issue with Overwatch being triggered by characters behind the attacker (outside of the visible cone)
  • Fixed a potential issue with VFX not being displayed when applying various bonuses to characters via abilities


When starting a new campaign you can now select between 3 difficulty options: Easy, Normal, Hard and even Ironman mode.

In Ironman mode you only have one autosave slot so take great care or you'll need a new keyboard in no time 😉

In Hardcore mode allied characters don't go into the downed state when their Health reaches 0 but they die instantly instead.
