No doubt you've heard of that grand 0.10 update, coming to Learning Factory next week.

Do you want to check out the new content, like, right now?

We'll, we've got news for you:

[h3]Learning Factory 0.10 update is available in a Beta branch on Steam[/h3]
Simply right-click the game in your library, then go to 'Properties -> Betas' and select the 'unstable' beta option.

(Currently, only Windows and Linux versions are available for testing)

Play some Learning Factory, generate some data, help us create a more polished experience for the rest of the players! Totally a win-win situation.

And if you don't have opportunity for playtesting, well, there're always other ways for you to help us make this game awesome:

Hey there, incredible engineers!

We're very busy at the moment, as the release of next big (and we mean BIG, in bold!) update for Learning Factory is just around the corner, and we're happy to share some awesome WIP pictures with you!

But let's get the only peice of bad news out of the way first:

[h2]Your saves from v0.9.32 and under won't work after the update next week[/h2]
We'll try and create a separate branch of the game for those of you who want to continue playing with your current Faactories. We also sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but that's Early Access life...

Ok, back to cool stuff! As you probably know by now, the biggest change about the upcoming update is a bunch of new resources, craftable goods and, naturally, wicked machinery for producing stuff for cats on Mars. What will KOTOVOD have to offer, come the update? How about a Microchip Maker:

It will be very useful for crafting computer stuff!

Or maybe you'd like to make some anti-gravitational hammocks:

We've got you!

What does this thing do? Well, it extracts gold from under the water:

It's name is William Seaward Burrows, in case you were wondering.

These things are all a work in progress, so let's don't rush things... Or shall we? Do you want to check (most of) the new stuff, like, right now? We'll, if you insist,

feel free to check it out! There will be bugs, there will be translation shennanigans, but all in all we encourage our bravest players to play it and generate some data so we could fix potential bugs and provide a more polished experience to our players by September 23.

Hey there, handsome engineers!

We hope you're doing fine, because we have awesome news for you (as we usually do!).

That big Learning Factory update you've all been waiting for -- is coming into it's final form, slowly, but steadily. As you might already know, it's aimed to bring your way a whole bunch of new research projects, new machinery to build, and new awesome goods to treat your catty customers!

We have freshly squeezed juice:



We have our own juice brewing machines:



We haave blings!



And we have not one, but TWO machines for mining gold -- both on the land and in the sea:





We call these machines William Burrows and William Seaward Burrows, respectively.

As usual, we must remind, that all this art is a work in progress: because the final, animated versions of it will look much more beautiful (as it always does!).

As game devs around our 30s, we remember times when returning back to school promised a lot of boring pastimes. For many modern school children, it remains this way as of today.

But hey, as game devs around our 30s, we are also very much certain that learning new stuff is awesome, furthermore, it's a necessary condition of survival in the modern world.

As game devs, we also believe that learning should in no way be boring.



For us, this summer was an exciting journey to creating Learning Factory EDU, a free version of Learning Factory, designed and packed to help improve problem solving skills for middle school learners - while introducing them to engineering practices along the way. If you haven't seen it yet, you're very welcome to download it for free from our website.

But it was not only about developing the product itself: for us the most important was the possibility to meet with all kinds of exciting thinkers, transforming the world into its better state with help from video games! We have met teachers, non profit miracle workers and ed tech entrepreneurs in our video series



Please share a link to Learning Factory EDU to anyone interested in applying video games in education, as we're looking for teachers and parents, willing to play it along with their learners and share feedback. This will help us turn LF EDU into a razor-sharp tool carving a way towards new knowledge!
