Fallout 76 unveils packed roadmap up to March's playable ghouls update

Fallout 76 is in a fantastic spot these days. It's tough to define it as the best RPG in the long-running series, between the narrative chops of New Vegas, the vast breadth of Fallout 4, and the mechanical spectacle of the original Interplay games. But put aside the more serious undertones and it might be the most fun Fallout game - and almost certainly my favorite. Having come a long, long way since its rocky launch, Bethesda now unveils its next chapter in full, and we're in for quite possibly the most exciting new season we've ever seen.

Season 19 and Gleaming Depths coming December 3, 2024!

Season 19: The Scientific Forge begins December 3, releasing alongside the Gleaming Depths update.

The Scientific Forge is themed around the para-military organization the Enclave, once known as a deep-state faction of the United States government, comprised mostly of our favorite artificially intelligent supercomputer, M.O.D.U.S. The Enclave’s mission? The revitalization of America through the power of science!

Invaders from Beyond

Take back Appalachia from the extraterrestrials. Starting today, aliens have landed in Fallout 76 and they’re trying to steal your brainwaves. It’s going to take all your brainpower and firepower to keep them from taking over Appalachia.

At the top of every hour, a UFO will be sighted over one of several important locations in Appalachia. The aliens are beaming down Siphons to steal your brainwaves and the brainwaves of your fellow vault-dwellers. Take down these mind-sucking Siphons before the meter fills to complete the event and reap the extra-planetary rewards. It won’t be easy, because the siphons are protected by all kinds of Toxic and Cryogenic aliens, including Captain and Invader Aliens who mean business.

Invaders from Beyond will be active from November 12 to 26, so get out there and foil their nefarious alien plans.

Completing the Invaders from Beyond event gives you a chance to earn some truly out-of-this-world new rewards, including these colorful Nuka Cola Rockets in a few different flavors, from Nuka Grape and Cherry to Nuka Twist. You can also earn this pink Hazmat Suit, a Futuristic Globe and the Alien Couch and Alien Settee, hand-crafted by aliens.

Fallout 76's endgame is being overhauled by a new raid and the biggest boss ever

A new Fallout 76 raid is set to transform the survival shooter dramatically in December, as Bethesda continues to build out the endgame variety. The new MMO-style dungeon has been revealed as part of the Fallout Day celebrations, and it's got me more excited to come back to the Appalachian wasteland than I've been in some time. Offering a series of encounters including a final showdown against the game's biggest boss yet, the Gleaming Depths will also unlock a new tier of legendary weapons to completely transform your best builds.

Happy Fallout Day!

Today is the day that Americans went underground into the vaults to survive the apocalypse all thanks to the fine folks at Vault-Tec, and it’s time to celebrate. This year, we’re kicking off the celebrations with a very S.P.E.C.I.A.L. show.

From Bethesda Game Studios in Austin, it’s the Fallout Day Broadcast. During the broadcast, you’ll hear about all the exciting new content coming to Fallout 76 from Jon Rush, Bill LaCoste and other Bethesda Game Studios developers.

After the broadcast, Kenneth Vigue from Fallout for Hope continues the festivities in the post-show celebration. The Fallout for Hope Charity Initiative will be live presenting an over 4-hour community showcase to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Celebrating the history of Fallout through the lens of those who played the games, tune in for original fan films, animation, music and an in-game parade. You can read more about Fallout for Hope in our community spotlight. The post-show will only be streaming on Twitch.

Tune into the Fallout Day Broadcast later today at 3pm ET on Youtube or Twitch.
