Maintaining discipline
DISCIPLINE

It's a must-have in every army.
Every war movie fan has watched "Saving Private Ryan" or "The Bridge on the River Kwai" or many other iconic films.

They probably think maintaining discipline is easy. You give orders, soldiers obey and perform them with a smile on their faces.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Look at these bunch!! Get to work!

Living in a bunker it's not sunbathing on a beach (well maybe... if you compare it to OMAHA!). We need a ton of supplies, wood, guns, ammo, food. Look at our storage - its' basically empty.

Well, I don't want to tell you that I was right... but I Was.
German soldiers were extremely organized and hardworking. Now they have ammo for guns, full bellies and fuel for tanks and aircraft...

and we?

Well we still have our machine gun and panzerfaust taken... "borrowed":) from Germans. We can make it.

SARGE! If we make it... we promise to fulfill all your commands in a flash but... GET US OUT OF HERE !!

We had a few days of clear skies.

While we were waiting for the big supply drop, we needed to get out of the bunker first.

I was really unlucky as a plane that dropped last night has buried me alive.
Or maybe it was an insanely motivated kamikaze dive bomber... fuel is so cheap these days, he could actually fly all from Japan...

I must be losing my mind... not much oxygen left over here. Dig dig dig...

Uff... I'm outside. Look, we've got some artillery just for us!

That's more than enough but we've got something else...

Ok, that needs to be either some kind of radio, a decoding machine or... a piano.

Hopefully its a piano. Let the enemies just listen to my 5th symphony... I wouldn't even need ammo to defend the bunker.

After a hard and uneven fight we came out victorious… but not unharmed. It’s good that the last supply drop was generous so we can patch up.

Now when enemy soldiers are regrouping for another attack we have some time… Lumberjack time… so chop chop chop to keep the bunker hot.

Mmm.. peace at last. I know we are not English tea maniacs… but we don’t have coke in the bunker.

The night has finally come.

We at last have some time to recover before morning. Even super soldiers of Wermacht can’t attack at night… they are not Owls to see in the dark.
And their scientists still haven’t researched night-vision equipment

Hmm but why I am naked… sleeping without the blanket on?

That damn English tea…

The enemy is advancing. Everyone is panicking. They have left you alone.

Now it is just you and your gun and hundreds of fearless enemy soldiers to fight off.

You must hold… Maybe you can beat Audie Murphy’s record?

Tanks are no match for your AT gun.

And another „mighty” tank bites the dust.

Well it wasn’t easy, got some scratches… but the food is running low.

Ok.. while I made my last stand out there… you were preparing coffee?

Well they say… if you know how to count… count on yourself.

Still...that’s a nice coffee.
