Peaceful Days Progression (July 2024 Report)

Hi everyone,

It's time again for the July progression report. I've made tons of progress this month, and I'm happy to show you what I've achieved. It's crazy to see how much has been done in just one month.

First of all, I've revamped the decorating system to enable precise placement.

Secondly, I added weather effects. Here is a video to show how a thunderstorm looks in the game. WARNING: Flashing.

lso, I've implemented a message system that allows NPCs to express their emotions better.

Last but not least, I've reworked Aurora Town. It's now much easier to navigate and looks much better visually. Let's take a look at some changes and compare!

Here is a comparison between the old and new buildings.

Here are some screenshots to show how they look in-game.

And that's all for this month. I also added a lot of minor improvements, but it's easier to let you explore them in the future. Thank you again for reading. Have a great day, and see you again next month!

Peaceful Days Progression (June 2024 Report)

Hi everyone,

I've been working diligently on the game every day and I'm excited to share the progress I've made this June.

This month, I focused heavily on enhancing the farming and foraging systems. I’ve redrawn almost all the sprites for crops, trees, and forageables, and added some exciting new features like shiny variants of crops and forageables.

Here’s a screenshot from the current build:

Additionally, I’ve created a video to showcase the updated foraging system. Check it out here:

I’ve carefully considered all the feedback you’ve provided over the years to make these improvements, and I believe it will be worth the wait. Thank you for your continued support and patience.

I post weekly updates there.

Have a great day,

Peaceful Days Progression (May 2024 Report)

Hi,

I just want to announce that I'm still working hard on the game. My game dev lifestyle has been so bad that I had to spend a few weeks in the hospital. But I came back stronger and healthier than ever before.

I have officially switched to using Godot as the main engine. I'm also learning while remaking the game, so it will take longer, but I think it will be much better in the long run. I have implemented a lot of core features and revamped the main story. All we need now is a playable demo, which I'm focusing on.

Here is a screenshot of the latest build:

I will let you know more next time. Thank you for your patience!

Current state of the development.

Hello, it's me, the dev of Peaceful Days.
I'm truly sorry for have been disappearing for a long while since I last announced the state of project. The past year, I've been struggled between continuing my solo game dev dream and trying to earn enough money through freelance work for surviving and for a big comeback later. I appreciated all the support I got from all of you these past years. The ideas I got from you guys will be saved for improvement, so don't worry.
I'm sorry again, I am just a little man who has big dream but all of suddenly has to carry a lot on my back.
I hope you guys will understand my situation and know how passionate I am when I first released Peaceful Days 4 years ago. and I never stopped the development entirely. The progress is slow but I'm enjoying everything that I learned to make Peaceful Days better.
Hope you all have a great day!

Peaceful Days is still alive!

Hi, it's me again. Long time no see!
I'm on my final week at my company. Will be back to work on Peaceful Days full-time on March 16th.
Again, I'm sorry again for no update to the game. I have been working hard for 2 years to earn enough to continue my indie game dev dream. The dream where I could deliver a game that I could be proud of. It might not be the best, but I've put so much into it.
I've learnt a lot since my 2 years at Ubisoft. So I'm looking forward to apply my new knowledge to the game.

Thanks again for still supporting the game,
Nhat
