Morels: The Hunt News

Morels The Hunt UPDATE!

We are super excited to announce our latest update for Morels: The Hunt. It is our biggest update yet.

HORSE

-You can now ride a horse in Morels!
-There will always be a horse for you to ride around on in the Texas Ranch map.
-You can also purchase a horse from the shop to ride around on in other maps.
-You can switch between first person and third person views while you are riding a horse.

NEW PICKUP METHOD

-We created this method to pick up mushrooms on slopes, but you can pick up any mushroom with it.
-If you are close enough you can look directly at a mushroom and hit the pickup button to pick it up.
-You can also enable a CROSSHAIRS PICKUP GUIDE in Settings under Gameplay. This will put a little crosshairs on your screen that will turn green when you can pick up the mushroom.
-Many players have also mentioned that it should not play the pickup animations unless there was something to pick up. It has now been changed to only playing pickup animations if the green circle is lit up showing you can pick up.
-There are a couple of sceenshots on our Morels Support page on our website.

POISON IVY MECHANIC

-You can now use your camera when you have poison ivy. It will close when you stop to scratch though.
-Increased the amount of time in between stopping and scratching from 10 seconds to a 15-25 seconds.
-Lowered the price of first aid kits.
-Poison Ivy had to still be a little punishing or there would be no point in trying to avoid it.

MORELS

-Morels will now grow in all maps for your entire season.
-Previously they would eventually die out around 35 days after the map was unlocked.
The number of morels will eventually decrease a little after a map has been unlocked for so many days but they will never completely die out now.

TEXAS RANCH

-Added a horse to ride around on.
-Increased the number of animals.
-Increased the number of mushrooms.

BUG FIXES

-Fixed clock after midnight bug. Between 12AM and 1AM the clock would display weird combinations of numbers.
-Fixed mushrooms on slopes not being possible to pick up. You can now use the New Pickup Method to pick up mushrooms on slopes.
-Fixed being able to get stuck in the pig pen in Indiana Country.
-We have changed the method on how the game detects animals that are being photographed. Hopefully this will finally fix that pesky bug that sometimes will detect the wrong animal.

If we did not get to something in this update it will hopefully be in the next update. Thank you to everyone for all of the great feedback. We really appreciate all your support and we will continue to work to make Morels the best game that we can. Happy Hunting!

Morels: The Hunt Minor Update and Bug Fixes

Bug Fixes 11-24

-Added an option to switch to Metric System in settings under gameplay.

-Fixed the bug that caused edible mushrooms to sometimes lower energy instead of raising it.

- We are still looking into this the “Photography issue - green circle + this animal is dead” bug. We cannot reproduce this on our end, but are continuing to do things to help prevent it from happening.

- Gamepad control bug. We believe we have fixed this bug. Sometimes when you would exit out of the game menu the gamepad would not work correctly anymore. There was an issue with being able to open the camera when the menu was open. We believe these two were tied together and both should be fixed. If anyone else runs into this bug and can reproduce it please let us know.

FUTURE UPDATES

Thank you for all of your suggestions for future updates. Keep them coming! They have all been great suggestions and you should see some of them implemented in updates coming soon.

Again, thank you to everyone who has purchased Morels and has been spending time playing it. Feedback, reviews, and tweets are all super helpful. It really means a lot to us.

- Added a message when your energy is low informing you that you can go back inside your home base to restore energy and remove any ticks or poison ivy.

- Fixed getting stuck in Indiana Country behind hay bales.

- Fixed Misplaced trees in Indiana Country.

- Fixed the bug where you would you could fall through the map while changing shapes in exploration mode.

- Looked into “Photography issue - green circle + this animal is dead” bug. We could not reproduce this on our end, but did some things to help prevent it from happening. We will continue looking into it.

FUTURE UPDATES

We are going to be adding some new animals and mushrooms types in future updates. We would love to get your feedback on which animals or mushrooms you would like added to the game. We feel like the forests could use a bigger variety of birds. We are looking at possibly adding wrens, pigeons, and sparrows.
