Picture this: Foals - Update 1.15

Hi everyone,

The latest Update for Rival Stars Horse Racing: Desktop Edition is here!

This update is all about photo mode and the incredible editions that have been added, so let's get into it.

Photo mode is now available in more places than before, including foal stalls, the pasture, and of course Free Roam. While you still have the ability to take stills using the provided backgrounds and poses, this takes in-game photography to a whole new level.
Photo mode!
From the get-go, this new photo mode has a lot more features than the previous edition, these include, depth of field, lighting adjustments, filters, overlays, and appearance.

Once you have the desired shot lined up, you have the ability to hide the interface and snap the perfect shot using the f12 button. This will save your image to both your steam library and your default photo folder on your PC.

That's not all though.

While in photo mode, using a combination of the mouse and “W, A, S, D” on the keyboard, or the thumbsticks on the controller, players have full control of the camera meaning they can capture images at all new angles and distances.
Accessing Photo mode
To access photo mode in the Pasture and Foaling Stalls, head to the desired feature you wish to take photos from and hit the “Photo Mode” button.

Accessing Free Roam’s photo mode is a little different from the Pasture and Faoling stalls, once you are ready to take the photo hit the “Q” key to bring up the Photo Mode menu.

We are excited to see the exciting and wonderful moments you capture with the new and improved photo mode.

Rankings, Runnings & Results - Update 1.14.1
Hey everyone!
We are back with another exciting update for you all!

You have been honing your Cross Country skills for a few weeks and now it's time to put it to the ultimate test with the introduction of Cross Country Leaderboards!

For those who have played the mobile edition of Rival Stars Horse Racing, this will work differently from the leaderboards and Live events you have all grown to know and love
How does it work?
Leaderboards work in seasons with each season lasting for 2 weeks. New seasons kick off on Thursdays at 12:00 PM EST, giving every player the chance to prepare and train their horses to become Cross Country Champions.

Each Cross Country Course has its own Leaderboard, with Pro mode being integrated into its respective related course. To get to the top of the leaderboard, players need to not only beat the optimal time set for the course but also make sure they are completing the course faster than others. Scores/Times are connected to your steam ID, meaning you can only register one time for each course.
Leaderboard
There are a few different ways to interact with the leaderboard.

The leaderboard will show the “world” leaderboard by default.

Selecting the friend button next to the leaderboard will shift the leaderboard view from the world leaderboards to a friends-only view showing you how you are doing in the current season vs your friends.

To view the leaderboard for the current season or take a look at the past season's winners you’ll want to click the “Trophy” Icon at the top of the leaderboard.

In the meantime, players will be competing for bragging rights. However, we are collecting feedback and will be evaluating the best way to reward the season winners

We can't wait to see everyone compete and start climbing the leaderboard!

Don’t forget to check out the community to keep up to date with the recent news, and competitions. Until next time, happy Racing/Riding everyone.

Cross Country - Update 1.14

Welcome to Cross Country

We are proud to announce the latest game mode in Rival Stars Horse Racing: Desktop Edition — Cross Country!

That’s right! You've been training your Jump and Agility stats for a few months now and it's finally time to put them to use!
Let's get into it!
What is Cross Country?

You've already had a small taste of Cross Country with the addition of jumps in the free roam area, but now it's time for a true challenge. Cross Country is the ultimate test for your horse’s speed, endurance, and jumping skills. Scoring is kept true to real life, which means to land the medal you are after, you have to navigate your way through the tracks, execute those perfect jumps, and complete the track as close to the set time as possible!

Nail all these elements and you’ll be well on your way to being a Cross Country champion.

Accessing Cross Country can be done in the Race and Ride menu once you have reached Prestige 4. From there, you need to select your course and the horse you wish to compete with.
By completing each event within a certain time frame, you will begin to unlock new tracks. Every track has eligibility criteria that are dictated by the horse's level, meaning the higher you train your horse the more tracks it can compete on.
Pro difficulty
Pro is a second difficulty level for those who really want to challenge their Cross Country abilities.

You can access Pro difficulty by changing the difficulty toggle on the Cross Country course select screen, but it will only become available once you have unlocked and completed all the tracks on Normal difficulty.
What’s coming up?
We are continuing to expand and develop Rival Stars Horse Racing: Desktop Edition and today we are excited to share a sneak peek at some of the updates we have coming soon.

These updates are scheduled to be available very soon, with version 1.14.1 arriving in a few week’s time and 1.15 releasing in late October/early November.

In the meantime, we'll let you discuss what these new updates might include.

Don’t forget to check out the community to keep up to date with the recent news, and competitions. Until next time, happy Racing/Riding everyone.

Green Pasture - Update 1.13

Hello, and welcome to the Rival Stars Horse Racing: Desktop Edition, Greener Pastures Update!

Welcome to your brand new Pasture!

The Pasture is a brand new beautiful plot of land you have recently acquired allowing you to transport and store your horses. You can move your horses from your stables and into the Pasture for retirement reasons, or maybe you just need to free up space in your stalls.

The Pasture is not just a storage box for your horses! Starting from Prestige 6, you can move your horses to and from the pasture! This can be done by clicking on the Pasture button in your stables, here you have the opportunity to view your horses interacting with each other and enjoying their time rolling in the grass, but that's not all, the Pasture allows you to have full camera control to get the best angles on your horses.

It is important to remember that If your horse is placed in the pasture you will not be able to race, train or breed with it until you return the horse to your stables, However, you are still able to take your horse out on a Free Roam adventure!

How do I place a horse in the Pasture?

Moving your horses to and from the Pasture is simple! Start by selecting the horse you wish to move from your stable and click the “manage horse button” on the top right of your screen (this appears as a horse/gear icon) From here you will see the option to “Move To Pasture” button, clicking this will successfully move your selected horse to the Pasture.

Bringing a horse back from the Pasture is much the same. First head to the Pasture from the stables, Select the horse you wish to return, select “Manage Horse” and confirm the transfer back to the stable by selecting “Move To Stables”

How many horses can I have?

No longer do you need to consider how many stalls you have available when breeding or purchasing a new horse because your Pasture space is able to hold up to a massive 60 horses at one time.

Looking to the Future

We have some exciting features making their way to the Desktop Edition later in quarter 3 that we can’t wait to share with you. Shortly we will release a Roadmap covering the remainder of the updates for 2022.

We are constantly working to improve and expand the world of Rival Stars Horse Racing, so please keep leaving your feedback so we can continue to build on and help make Rival Stars Horse Racing: Desktop Edition the best Horse Racing Game, not just on Steam but in the world!

Change List

 • Players can send horses to pastures starting at prestige level 6
 • All 60 pasture slots are unlocked by default!
