Teardown's wild west expansion will arrive next week

Teardown's first DLC will launch on November 15th. It's called Time Campers, and it seems to be about taking a time travelling caravan back to the wild west so you can dynamite your way through saloons, bridges, and steam trains. Also there's a horse. Find all of the above in the release date trailer below.

Future of Teardown

Hello everyone,

It’s time we talk more about the future of Teardown.

First things first: we want Teardown to be more accessible to people around the world. Not only is our upcoming console launch on November 15th going to help with that, but on that same day we will be releasing an update that contains localization for French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Polish, Russian and Simplified Chinese. We have also been doing a ton of optimization work and are adding support for DirectX 12, which will make the game run smoother on a wider set of hardware. You’ll probably see this update hit our experimental branch sometime in October.

When it comes to more content, while our community makes a ton of awesome content through modding (more than we could have ever hoped for), sometimes we’ve got our own ideas about cool stuff that could be added. To that end, part of our team has been working on expanding official game content that we plan on releasing as DLC packs. Our goal is to release four of them by the end of 2024, the first two of which we can share some information on today:

First up will be Time Campers, a campaign expansion set in the Wild West. You’ll travel back in time and experience a collection of missions in a similar format to the current Teardown campaign, but with old-timey tools and architecture. Much of this new content will also be available in Sandbox Mode. Time Campers will be available on November 15th as part of a Season Pass which will grant access to all four upcoming DLCs, or as a stand-alone purchase.

Then, in the first half of 2024, we’ll be releasing Folkrace. This DLC also expands the campaign in Teardown, but rather than following our current campaign format, instead introduces a ton of new vehicles and a series of destructive racing game modes. You’ll be challenged against AI drivers and expand your car collection as you win. It will feel like a brand new game in Teardown's voxel world.

If this new type of content isn’t for you, don’t worry. Our community continues to make amazing mod content while the rest of our team remains hard at work trying to expand the functionality, systems, and ways that we hope you are able to play Teardown in the future.
