Better photo mode and adjustable difficulty

Hello everyone! We've just released Teardown version 0.7.4 on the main branch. This is a minor release with some small additions that we wanted to get out to you before we leave for summer vacation.

New in this release:
  • More options to the photo mode. You can now move, rotate, tilt, and zoom the camera in photo mode.
  • A new "game" tab on the options menu where you can adjust the difficulty through toggles for alarm time, ammo, and health. You can also enable/disable the option to skip missions and unlock all tools and levels in sandbox mode.
  • Some minor bug fixes

During July we will be off on summer vacation, so communications will be very sporadic. We'll be back working on Teardown on August 2.

Have a great July!

Teardown's relentless robot is like Baymax crossed with a T-1000

"Sorry about the programmer art," ends a recent tweet from Teardown developer Dennis Gustafsson. He needn't apologise. His tweet contains a video of a pathfinding robot navigating the destructible, constantly-changing world of one of last year's best games, and the robot is simultaneously terrifying and cute.

I'm terrified of Teardown's unrelenting robots

Teardown is a smashing good time, a shockingly smart heist game framed by some proper impressive voxel destruction tech. But for all the hours I've put into planning capers and tearing down its brittle maps, I've never once thought the experience could be improved via relentless pursuit from a tireless, fearless, unstoppable Terminator...

Version 0.7.2 live on main branch

Hello everyone!
Teardown build 0.7.2 has left the experimental branch and is now available on the main branch.
This is a pretty huge update with a lot of news all over the board:

New map and missions
The Eventides mall map has been integrated into Part one with a new mission. We also have a brand new challenge, Fetch. In Fetch the maps are littered with targets, and your job is to try to take as many as you can before the time runs out.

Massively improved destruction and physics performance
We put a lot of effort into improving the physics and destruction performance. The new algorithms also allow large buildings to fall properly when disconnected.

Photo mode
We've added a brand new photo mode which can be accessed from the in-game pause menu. Here you can take beautiful pictures of Teardown with adjustable depth of field, exposure, and bloom.

Gamepad and keybinding support
Finally you can remap the keys in the game, and you can properly play it with a gamepad though Steam Input.

Quality of life improvements
There is a new variable vsync option, which should make the game run smoother. The particle system has been reworked and looks a lot better, and has updated API support.

And we have updated the Teardown logo, which we are really happy about :)

Have fun!
