Patch Notes - Season 14 - (2.0.2.0)

- New Maps: Mountain Pass 2, Tundra Tumble 2, On Thin Ice 2, Frozen 2, Slippery Slopes 2
- New Season Skins and Modifiers have been added
- New: You can now select community maps for a Grand Prix
- New Season Challenges have been added
- Streamer Season XP Changes:
  • - 1 Bonus race is awarded per hour (120 cap)
  • - Earn 2x XP for bonus races
  • - Earn Bonus XP when viewers complete energy tiers

- Viewer Energy Changes:
  • - Energy is reset to 50 at 3a.m. EST each day
  • - Earn energy back from completing bonus tiers in unique streams
  • - You cannot earn energy back or earn points if you have reached 0 energy for the day
  • - Tier progress can be seen at the end of race screen in the Bonus column
  • - Energy earned can be seen at the end of race screen to the right

- Shop Revamp:
  • - Items in the shop are rotated daily and hourly
  • - An inspection panel has been added to give more detailed information about each item and item type
  • - You can now get a more detailed view of skins and modifiers using the marble preview inside the inspection panel. Click and drag the previewmarble to rotate the model
  • - Streamer Skins now have their own section and have an input field for searching

- Merchandise button added to the main menu
- Added home button now visible in the main menu
- The podium level at the end of a grand prix has been updated
- Added animations for notifying a claimable challenge reward, shop rotations, and when items are added for customization
- Added challenge progress UI/animations that display at the end of a race if season xp was earned
- Top Streamers has been added to the home screen
- The Main Menu world has been updated
- Updated the Energy column at the end race screen
- Season leaderboard ranks are now updated as they were in previous seasons (every 5-10 minutes)

Track Builder:
- Test Marbles now load with Equipped Everyone Skins
- Map Boundaries no longer interfere with testing
- UI Cleanup
- New Straight Piece Variant
- Bingo Ball Geometry Updates
- Many minor geometry updates
- Removed old end buckets
- Added 3 new end buckets without center protrusion
- Added Cannon functionaltiy to Rock Blaster
- Fixed bug with track piece count not updating on load
- New ending drop track piece
- 4 New Map Textures
- Fixed a bug where snap spheres would not update on flipped piece
- Fixed a bug where you could select destructible objects and delete them
- New starting pieces have been added
- Slow motion can now be used in test marble mode
- Physics objects now work during test marble mode
- Hover and click logic for components that light up has been updated
- Updated my maps (open) menu to be more visually friendly
- Added new names to choose from when uploading maps

Bugs Fixes:
- Marble data for ghost marbles should no longer be recorded when playing custom maps (was causing the game to hang on very long tracks for some users)
- Fixed an issue where streamer bonus xp was not showing in the profile widget on login
- Fixed an issue in Tilted where toggling the settings button at the end of a run showed the incorrect screen
- Fixed an issue where the tilted leaderboard was populating twice
- Fixed an issue with tips not showing in certain areas of the main menu

MOS Mobile patch notes: (Update on Android only, iOS should be updated soon)
- New Spawn Effects: Snowman, Snowflake Swirl, Santa Sled
- New Trail Effects: Top Hat, Santa Hat, Deer Antlers
- New Finish Effects: Snowflake Finish, Ice Finish

Is Marbles Chugging along for you? (Possible Fix)

Possible fix to help Marbles on Stream run smoother

Something Pixel noticed was that moving the installation location for your Steam Games out of the "Program Files" folder. Steam defaults installs to this folder but if you move it to it's own folder it might help things run smoother. This was noticed when Pixel was playing Marbles and other games.

Mainly uninstall all of Steam and your games (

Season 14 has launched TODAY 18 Dec 2019

Marbles on Stream Season 14 is now live!!! This update marks a few milestones for Marbles on Stream. We have completed our first full season on Steam and this will be the last major update of 2019 and the Decade! So go forth, enjoy the Holidays, and get those wins!

If you are not seeing the update please try shutting down Steam and restarting it. It should process the update then!

- Now you may be wondering what is Marbles on Stream?
MoS is a stream interactive game designed to involve a Twitch Streamers viewers in a fun Marble racing game. All the viewer needs is to type !play in the respective streamers chat they would like to join. Simple and easy for all.

- Where were we before Steam?
We were tucked away in our little Discord server and that is how it was downloaded before as we developed out the game season by season. If you are interested in joining feel free as we use Discord as our gathering space for the community. Discord.gg/pixelbypixelstudios.

- How to play Marbles on Stream?
Streamers - Download marbles, log in with your Twitch Crendentials so the game can connect to your Twitch chat and begin reading typed commands. Play in picked Game Tracks, Community Tracks, Marble Royale or our newest mode Tilted. All modes are viewer implemented so you can involve your viewers in all the game modes and just have fun.

Viewers/Racers - Join any stream on Twitch.tv streaming Marbles on Stream, be sure to greet the streamer, and get invovled in their races simply by typing !play in their chat.

- Seasons?? Why?
We introduced seasons in May 2018 and each season brings new content to the game. It also resets the leaderboards and deletes all the community tracks from the global system.

Leaderboard points are global which means it does not matter where you race, you are earning points towards your total. We also delete all the community tracks from our system so each season brings fresh tracks in, and gives the builders the chance to reflect on the votes and possibly make changes to their existing tracks.

Streamers get a unique experience with Marbles. Streamers earn XP by conducting races. We use a very complex mathematical system to calculate how much each race earns them. At the end of the season we take the top 10 Streamers and host a fun little collection of events and the streamer who earns the most points during the last day of the season events will earn their emote in the game for the next 2 seasons. Their emote will load their own custom marble into the race for that time.

- Emotes?
Our game includes the functionality of certain emotes on Twitch.tv that will load specific skins into the game for the viewer who uses them. Its a fun little community thing we do.
Whos emotes work in the game?
Our channel emotes work PixelbyPixelStudios on Twitch, our community managers, Spooo and StandardDamage and the previous 2 season winners.

Season 14 Energy and Points System Update

With the launch of Season 14 we are changing up the way the Racer Energy and Streamer Points systems work. Moving forward we are working to have the Marbles XP and Point system coincide along with the new changes Twitch has been making for viewers and streamers to have better alignment with our Marbles Racers and Streamers.

Below is a breakdown of how the new Season 14 system will work:

Racer System
  • Start each day 3am EST (12am PST) Racers will reset to have 50 Energy.
  • 1 Energy Spent per race participated in (Energy only spent on race completion)
  • Earn Energy from completing bonus tiers in unique streams (meaning 5, 10, 20, etc in one individuals stream.)
    -Tier 1 = 5 total Races -> 5 Energy returned
    -Tier 2 = 10 total Races -> 6 Energy returned
    -Tier 3 = 20 total Races -> 12 Energy returned
    -Tier 4 = 40 total Races -> 20 Energy returned
    -Tier 5 = 60 total Races -> 20 Energy returned
    -Tier 6 = 100 total Races -> 40 Energy returned
0 Energy = 0 Season points distributed (Does effect Grand Prix, Does NOT effect local leaderboards)

Streamer System
  • 1 Bonus bonus races awarded per hour caps at 120
  • Earn 2x XP for Bonus Races (1 Bonus race spent per race)
  • Max Bonus XP for time in race 3 Mins (reduced from 6 Min)
  • Earn Bonus XP for completing viewer tiers. Tier = XP rewarded

Season 13 has left Earth's Orbit!

Today (Sunday December 15th, 2019) Season 13 ended and has left Earth's Orbit!

First of all we want to thank everyone for being a part of such a great first season on Steam!

We are hoping to have Season 14 updated and launched on Wednesday December 18th, 2019 sometime in the afternoon. This is our goal but as always things might change depending on if any bug show up!

From now until we launch Season 14 global points will not be calculated. You can still keep using local leaderboards, stream, and participate in races.

Also until the launch of Season 14 the Track Builder Pass is FREE! So if you have been wanting to try building some tracks but have hesitated... Now is the perfect chance to give Track Building a try!
