New Apex Legends Saviors trailer introduces Newcastle as the 21st Legend

A new cinematic trailer has been released, showing off the upcoming Apex Legends season, alongside our first look at the game’s newest character. The new season, titled Saviors, seems to be coming with monstrous changes to Storm Point as that’s where the events of the trailer takes place.

However, while an altered map is in the background, Newcastle takes centre stage as the star of the video and the 21st character to join the Apex Legends roster. While we don’t know exactly what the character can do in game at this point, certain info can be ascertained from the trailer which we’ve embedded below.

We’ll start by focusing on what we can see Newcastle doing combat-wise, rather than the narrative info revealed. Newcastle seems to be able to throw out a front-facing barrier in front of him, which provides additional cover for his teammates. In fact, much of what they do in this trailer revolves around blocking attacks, be it shots from nearby robots or giant laser beams. It’s hard to differentiate cinematic flavour from actual abilities, but it’s clear that they’ll be a defensive Legend.

Apex Legends "reworked ranked system" coming in Season 13

Apex Legends has just teed up what is to come in Season 13, and as well as its newest legend Newcastle and a massive sea monster, Respawn has teased that a rework to the battle royale's ranked mode is on the way.

On the official Apex Legends website, Respawn gives a brief overview of what is to come in Season 13. Among this information is a section called "Ranked Reloaded", and while exact details are thin, it appears the battle royale is going to encourage teamwork in its competitive mode.

"Rise and fall through the ranks together in a reworked Ranked system that rewards teamwork and skill," Respawn says. While this is not much to go on, and ranked tweaks are regularly made at the start of new seasons and even throughout seasons as well, to package this up as its own "Ranked Reloaded" suggests that the changes coming in Season 13 will be significant.

On April 25, Respawn Entertainment released the Saviors Launch Trailer - the official name of Season 13 - and offered fans an exciting first look at Newcastle in action. It was also revealed that, as expected, Newcastle is indeed Bangalore's long lost brother: Jackson Williams.

Apex Legends Revenant glitch causing chaos in Flashpoint LTM

Apex Legends' Unshackled Event has seen Flashpoint return to Olympus as an LTM. This mode isn't easy, replacing all healing items with several healing zones at fixed points across the map. If you're struggling with the lack of healing on offer, we suggest switching out to Revenant for a while. Why? One Reddit user has discovered an Apex Legends Revenant glitch that allows him to heal, while being invulnerable, in Flashpoint.

'RossBobSquirrel', a Redditor known for uncovering exploits and Easter eggs in Apex Legends, has shared a clip confirming that Revenant can heal in a Flashpoint Zone during a match of Flashpoint while benefiting from the Death Protection bonus you get from using his Death Totem ultimate ability.

Why is this a big deal? Well, usually, players with this Death Protection buff active can't use any healing items and, when they die, they are returned to the Death Totem with a maximum of 50 health. With the constant healing of a Flashpoint Zone, it's clear to see why this would make winning a fight with a Revenant and his squad with Death Protection near-impossible.
