Apex Legends players discover more ways to destroy Wraith portals

Apex Legends players have been aware for a while now that Loba's ultimate ability, Black Market Boutique, can be used to destroy a Wraith portal when placed directly on top of it. However, recently, players are discovering that she's not the only one with an unusual counter for a Wraith portal in Apex Legends. Both Revenant and Maggie can also use their abilities to get rid of Wraith's Dimensional Rift.

Reddit user 'RossBobSquirrel', someone known for finding interesting mechanics and glitches in Apex Legends, reveals that Revenant's Death Totem can be used in the same way as Loba's Black Market Boutique to destroy a Wraith portal. All you need to do is use the ability and place the Death Totem on the same spot as the portal.

With the revelation that another legend can counter Wraith's portals, Redditors dove into the comments to share their findings when it comes to the rest of Apex Legends' roster.

Apex Legends dev says it has fixed broken mythic Bloodhound skin

February 23, 2022 Respawn has issued a fix for the Bloodhound prestige skin challenge reset. The headline and copy has been updated to reflect this.

Apex Legends' Anniversary collection event kicked off earlier this week, but it's not all happy celebrations for Bloodhound players - despite the fact that they have a new mythic-rarity skin to unlock. The skin's high value of around $160 is dividing fans on its own, but there are also reports that the skin's challenge tracking is broken. Thankfully, this issue has been quickly addressed by Respawn Entertainment.

Bloodhound's new Apex Hunter skin has three tiers of challenges for players to unlock, each offering a different take on the skin's core design. Tier 1 can be unlocked by completing the Anniversary collection event - the same way you would be able to unlock an heirloom item. Tier 2 and Tier 3, however, are unlocked through in-game challenges. This skin's challenges are all about dealing damage while playing as Bloodhound.

This sounds straightforward, but a lot of players are struggling to actually complete the challenge. There are multiple reports of the challenge tracking being broken. Cloud9's Paris 'StayNaughty' Gouzoulis tweeted their challenge tracker being stuck at "-1/-1" - a clear issue.

Shroud is "over" the Apex Legends battle pass

Former esports professional turned streamer Michael 'Shroud' Grzesiek has criticised Apex Legends' battle pass for making players feel like they're coerced into playing the battle royale.

In a video where he streamed Apex Legends - brought to our attention by Dot Esports - Shroud explains why he thinks battle passes are bad for Apex Legends, and why battle passes in games in general hinder the player's gameplay experience rather than enhance it.

"God, the battle pass meta is so ... I just don't like it anymore. I'm over it. I'm over the battle pass meta," Shroud says. "I want to go back to the days of just grinding and playing the game. You play and you see your tokens go up. Then you buy what you want. It's just easy."
