Respawn begin unbanning various Apex Legends Linux and Steam Deck players

It's been a bit of a saga for Apex Legends players using the Proton compatibility tool to play it on Steam Deck and Linux desktop but it seems Respawn continue their ban investigation.

Respawn now properly looking into Apex Legends bans on Linux & Steam Deck

Around five days ago I reported on Apex Legends doing a ban wave which for the second time hit a bunch of players on Linux and Steam Deck playing it with Proton. Now at least the developer Respawn is looking into it.

Apex Legends Asia Festival to Kick off in Macau

Apex Legends Asia Festival will feature 20 elite teams, including 10 teams from Greater China, 5 teams from Japan and 5 teams from South Korea, a total of 60 well-known Cross-game creators and renowned Apex Legends professional players and top streamers will gather in Macau and bring a two-day top-notch visual feast for all!

The festival will include formal matches and entertainment matches, guaranteeing a thrilling and entertaining experience for all. The formal matches are further categorized into Main Track (i.e., Battle Royale) and Side Track (i.e., Team Death Match, or TDM). The entertainment matches (including Gun Run, Fight Night, and Random Mode) are interspersed between the formal matches on each match day.



The match schedule is as follows:



The competition rules are as follows:

· Battle Royale
Team Composition:
There are 20 teams in total, each composed of 3 participants including 1 cross-game creator and 2 specialized Apex Legends streamers.
Gameplay:
All the teams will compete in 12 matches for 2 days in total, with 6 point-based matches each day. The champion will be determined by the total points.

· TDM Mode
Team Composition:
There are 3 teams in total, one for each country. Each team is composed of 6 specialized Apex Legends streamers.
Gameplay:
The 3 teams will compete in 6 matches for 2 days in total, with 3 single round-robin matches each day (if 2 teams are tied, 1 tiebreaker match will be added; if 3 teams are tied, 2 tiebreaker matches will be added). The champion will be determined by the total points.

· Entertainment Mode
In addition to the intense competing in formal matches, players from three countries will also participate in entertainment matches.

Gun Run
Team Composition:
There are 4 teams in total, each composed of 1 participant from each country.
Gameplay:
The 4 teams compete in Gun Run mode.

Fight Night
Team Composition:
A total of 10 participants are selected to compete at the designated place on the designated map.
Gameplay:
All the 10 competitors arrive at the place of Fight Night in Olympus within a limited time and fight against each other in the boxing ring. Only the props provided by loot rollers are allowed to use. The last standing player wins.

Random Mode
Team Composition:
There are 20 teams in total, each composed of 3 participants including 1 cross-game creator and 2 specialized Apex Legends streamers.
Gameplay:
Maps, characters, and weapons are determined in a match according to the result of random throwing; other items can be used freely. The champion team wins.

Apex Legends is trying to "slow down" the development of new legends

For Apex Legends players, the introduction of new characters in each seasonal update was something of a staple until recently. In Season 16, we saw a complete rework to Apex Legends' classes dominate discourse. Now, in Season 18, we're seeing a similar situation with Apex Legends' Revenant rework. If you're hoping that this was all just a short break from an otherwise regular release schedule for new Apex Legends characters, we have some bad news for you. Respawn Entertainment is actively trying to slow down the rate at which it releases new legends.
