Apex Legends' new event stuffed with more free Apex Packs than usual

The next major Apex Legends title update is upon us and, with it, Respawn Entertainment is celebrating four years of this battle royale shooter with another Anniversary collection event. While this celebration is going to work in the same way as previous collection events, Respawn is being a lot more generous when it comes to Apex Packs in the reward tracker.

Starting on February 14, the Apex Legends Anniversary collection event sees a full set of recolours and community-created cosmetics available in the in-game store and select Event Apex Packs. There have been some minor cosmetic changes introduced to these skins - so, they're not completely recycled content - but it's still not quite as fresh as you'd like.

Still, completing the collection event will bag you 150 Heirloom Shards - and a set of slick legend skins. So, if you want to get a headstart on that, you'll be pleased to know that the Anniversary collection event reward tracker doesn't just contain five Apex Packs, it contains two Event Apex Packs - something we haven't seen available in a reward track for quite some time.

Apex Legends Season 16 release time nears as we gear up for Revelry

The Apex Legends Season 16 release time is finally upon us, and we can't wait to dig into everything developer Respawn has been cooking up for the new update - Revelry. As we celebrate the battle royale game's fourth birthday, the studio has been hard at work preparing all sorts of goodies to make up for the fact that there won't be a new legend this time around.

If you're wondering what Respawn's been cooking up, then let us clue you in on what you can expect to find in the Apex Legends patch notes. The Apex Legends tier list is going to be shaken up thanks to buffs to the likes of Lifeline and Mirage, and nerfs to Seer and Horizon. Meanwhile, the Apex Legends classes have been completely revamped. Oh, and there may not be a new legend, but there is a shiny new Nemesis AR to add to your locker.

So what is the exact time you can expect the content to drop? While Respawn has yet to confirm the time, it is most like that the Apex Legends Season 16 release time is 10:00 PT / 13:00 ET / 18:00 GMT on February 14. This is when updates have historically dropped, though of course there's always a chance it could differ by an hour or two should there be issues with the patch.

TSM's Apex Legends coach Raven wants to make esports history

Between collapsing on the floor embracing Phillip 'ImperialHal' Dosen and his emotional on-stage interview in front of the trophy he just lifted, there was no doubt that TSM's Apex Legends Global Series win in London meant a lot to the team's coach, 'Raven'.

TSM's players have been beyond complimentary of Raven's impact on the team, never more so than in a pre-ALGS Split 1 Playoffs interview with TheGamer. ImperialHal was equally full of praise for TSM's coach when I spoke with him after the team's victory.

Despite the backing of his team, Raven is a self-confessed "controversial" figure in the competitive Apex community. His alternative opinions on how the battle royale should be played at the highest level have meant that many have questioned his methods.

Apex Legends' Season 16 update might actually make scan meta worse

It's safe to say that Respawn Entertainment's battle royale shooter Apex Legends is undergoing quite a few major changes in Season 16. From a completely new Apex Legends classes to Apex Legends' Ranked playlist joining the map rotation, a lot of these changes seem like they're going to make quite a positive difference to battle royale fans' day-to-day gameplay. However, Respawn Entertainment is also tackling Apex Legends' infamous scan meta in Season 16 and we're just not totally sure the changes on the way are going to result in the undeniable improvement the developers are hoping to achieve.

As you might expect given the sheer dominance of the scan meta in Apex Legends' latest season, Respawn Entertainment is nerfing both Seer and Bloodhound in the Season 16 update.

Saving all the specific details for the next set of Apex Legends patch notes, lead legend designer Devan McGuire has shared that Respawn Entertainment's nerf is "aimed at reducing the overall frequency of scans in the game" without compromising each legends' identity.
