Apex Legends' latest Pathfinder buff still missing one key ingredient

We know Respawn Entertainment isn't introducing a new character to Apex Legends in the latest seasonal update (for the first time ever), but that doesn't mean there isn't anything to get excited about. Apex Legends' Season 16 update is going to have an impact on every single existing legend in this battle royale shooter - including everyone's favourite MRVN Pathfinder. But, however positive the latest set of Apex Legends patch notes looks to you Pathfinder mains out there, this new Apex Legends Pathfinder buff is still missing one key ingredient.

In what we can imagine is an effort from Respawn Entertainment to help Pathfinder find his feet in the updated Apex Legends classes, of which he is a Skirmisher, this character's ultimate ability is being buffed a lot going into Season 16.

As explained by Apex Legends' lead level designer Devan McGuire in a pre-season preview event attended by The Loadout, "Pathfinder's zipline range and riding speed have been increased significantly". This is going to allow players, Pathfinder included, to travel a lot further and a lot faster than before - something that should make him an effective asset to teams looking to rotate quickly or readily escape danger.

Apex Legends' new Bloodhound passive plays more into their hunter lore

Apex Legends' Revelry update might not be introducing a new map to this battle royale's rotation or a new legend to this FPS game's roster, but that doesn't mean it isn't going to be huge for the players. From Apex Legends sunsetting Arenas to add a highly requested feature, to completely overhauled Apex Legends classes, the latest set of Apex Legends patch notes are packed with alterations and improvements that you need to know about. One of the most important of those is the change to Bloodhound's passive ability.

We don't have the specifics right now, but Apex Legends' lead legend designer Devan McGuire has explained what Bloodhound mains can expect to see from this Recon legend's passive ability in Season 16 and beyond - and it's something that's going to feed back into the "tracking fantasy" that was in the developer's minds when they created them.

"For Bloodhound, we're shifting power away from their scan... through this White Raven concept," McGuire begins. "Bloodhound's ultimate will no-longer refresh or speed up their tactical charge. Instead, they will now find ethereal white ravens around the world that, when interacted with or scanned, will fly in the direction of the closest enemy, guiding them into battle."

New Apex Legends Lifeline changes buff more than just her healing

All the Legend and weapon changes coming to Apex Legends Season 16

Apex Legends is going to look a little different in a week's time. Respawn have broken the mould a little bit with Apex Legends Revelry and the game's four year anniversary - instead of adding a new Legend as usual, they've spent their time elsewhere to bring a host of Legend meta and weapon meta changes, alongside the new Team Deathmatch game mode and improving player onboarding that we reported on earlier in the week.

Apex Legends Season 16 is going to break a surprising number of targeted adjustments to various different guns, Legends, and abilities. And all that on top of the entirely revamped Legend class system, which gives every Legend a brand new perk (or in some cases two!) to play with. Read on for a full list of all the major changes that are coming to Legends and weapons with Apex Legends Revelry.

New Apex Legends Lifeline changes buff more than just her healing

Apex Legends Season 16 is certainly a season of massive change for the battle royale, with seven popular legends getting balancing sweeps alongside that all-important class rework. One thing that definitely won't change though is launch legend Lifeline still being the game's only healer - however, she is one of the special seven getting tweaked and will receive some nice buffs to her kit.

As you'd expect, Lifeline will remain a Support legend in the newly reworked Apex Legends classes, and will be joined in that class by Loba, Newcastle, and Gibraltar. Lifeline's old ability of being able to access additional loot in blue supply bins has now been extended to the entire Support class, so what is Respawn doing to make sure Apex's only healer is still a viable pick?

Well, for a start the slow penalty applied when activating her revive will be "greatly reduced" in Season 16, according to Devan McGuire, Apex Legends' lead legend designer.

Apex Legends Season 16 Wraith buff is potentially meta-breaking

If there's one thing Apex Legends' interdimensional skirmisher Wraith doesn't need in Respawn Entertainment's Season 16 update, it's a nerf. However, that isn't stopping the team behind this battle royale introducing one. In addition to benefitting from a new class perk, thanks to Respawn Entertainment's refreshing of Apex Legends' classes, Wraith is also getting a ridiculous buff in the Revelry update; we can't help but think this is going to help her dominate the game next season.

While the exact details of this incredible buff are hidden away in the latest set of Apex Legends patch notes, lead level designer Devan McGuire has explained just what we can expect to see from the update - and, well, it's quite exciting if you're a Wraith main.

Not only will "Wraith be able to place her portal twice as far as before", says McGuire, but she will also "speed up as she travels that extra distance". This should mean that she can help her team rotate - or escape - quicker. We don't know if this will match the time it takes for Wraith to make use of her portal at the moment, or be faster, but it's certainly still an alteration that can be considered a buff.
