Apex Legends' Season 15 Ranked Split 2 start time, next map, and more

We know it might feel like Apex Legends' Eclipse update dropped yesterday, but ranked players are more than ready to say goodbye to Broken Moon - the battle royale's new map. Whether you're a fan of this new locale or not, you're going to want to know when the Apex Legends Season 15 Ranked Split 2 start time is set for; this is when the map changes. So, keep reading and we'll let you know what to expect and when to expect it.

If you're still trying to climb Apex Legends' ranks and you want to put yourself in a good position ahead of the next soft reset, you don't have long to earn more RP. The Apex Legends Season 15 Ranked Split 2 start time is 10:00 PST / 13:00 EST / 18:00 GMT on January 17; this is a little later than initially expected, giving players only one month until the next major update.

Whether you're someone who lives and dies by an Apex Legends tier list or not, you'll be pleased to know that the Apex Legends Season 15 Ranked Split 2 map is Olympus. This information was revealed to The Loadout during an interview with lead level designer Jeff Shaw about Apex Legends' Broken Moon during the launch of Apex Legends' Eclipse update.

Apex Legends Horizon pick rate returning to Earth after sneaky nerf

If you were one of the Apex Legends players who said the hidden Apex Legends Horizon nerf wouldn't have an impact on the character's popularity, we have some news for you: Horizon's pick rate is starting to drop - and it's quite a dramatic turn for the eccentric astrophysicist. We don't know about you, but we certainly think Horizon herself Elle Newlands would have something to say about this.

Several days ago, Respawn Entertainment introduced the Spellbound Collection Event - and a title update with a fresh set of Apex Legends patch notes - to the battle royale shooter. For the most part, this was a welcome update. In spite of continual criticisms from the community on the BR's monetisation, the Spellbound Collection Event saw the ever-popular Control LTM return alongside Seer's heirloom item and quite a few interesting cosmetics.

One thing the aforementioned patch notes failed to mention among the minor weapon balancing changes and bug fixes, however, was a rather secret Horizon nerf. Not only did Respawn Entertainment reduce weapon accuracy while ascending in Horizon's tactical ability Gravity Lift, it also reduced the affect of her Black Hole ultimate ability through walls and obstacles.

Apex Legends' reactive weapon skins are being broken by latest update

Apex Legends' reactive weapon skins are being broken by latest update

When it comes to the latest Apex Legends update from Respawn Entertainment, there's a lot to talk about - like always. However, also like always, the things we need to talk about aren't universally positive. We might only have good things to say when it comes to the return of the Control LTM, or the new Apex Legends Spellbound skins, but it seems like this update has broken just as much as it has fixed. Alongside the hidden Apex Legends Horizon nerf and the resurgence of this battle royale's server issues, it's looking like reactive weapon skins are being broken in Apex Legends.

At the time of writing, reports are starting to emerge that a number of reactive weapon skins in Apex Legends are simply not working. Take this Reddit post from disgruntled fan 'CreeperOpsReddit' shows a rather unreactive Spitfire reactive weapon skin alongside one for the Triple Take and Devotion.

While there are complaints that Apex Legends' reactive weapon skins aren't as impressive as they could be when it comes to the "reactions" they offer, this isn't the only instance of a player complaining their reactive weapon skins aren't working. Several players have taken to Twitter to voice their concerns and we expect many more to follow suit.

Hidden Apex Legends Horizon nerf changes more than just Gravity Lift

Hidden Apex Legends Horizon nerf changes more than just Gravity Lift

Apex Legends' new Spellbound Collection Event has finally started and Respawn Entertainment's latest title update has changed more than the recent set of Apex Legends patch notes let on; it looks like a Horizon nerf has finally arrived. For hardcore battle royale players, this has been a long time coming. However, this will feel like being blindsided for Horizon mains; the popular legend wasn't mentioned at all in Respawn Entertainment's blog post.

But, we all know that doesn't mean anything when it comes to supposed balancing changes. Respawn Entertainment has made some alterations to Horizon's kit and they're undeniably nerfs.

The first - and likely the most impactful - change made was to Horizon's Gravity Lift tactical ability. When using the Gravity Lift to get a vertical advantage in a firefight, as shown by Apex Legends content creator Jacob 'HisWattson' McMillin, Horizon now suffers from exponentially decreased accuracy. If you check out his tweet (linked above), you'll see that the ADS bullet spread from an R-301 gets progressively worse the higher the Gravity Lift takes him.
