Apex Legends' deadliest one-shot weapon is not what you'd expect

When it boils down to choosing which weapon is the deadliest in Respawn Entertainment's battle royale shooter Apex Legends, there's - more often than not - more than one answer. For players with keen eyes and steady hands, the Kraber is easily the deadliest weapon. Although, if you're someone who's much more effective in a tight spot, you would argue that the R-99 is the deadliest weapon in the game - right? Well, you'll be pleased to know that we're here to settle this little debate once and for all with something that's been available in Apex Legends right from the start. The deadliest weapon in Apex Legends is, of course, the Cargo Bot supply drop.

Now, we know what you're thinking, and you have every right to think it. We must be joking when we say the Cargo Bot supply drop, right? Well, yes - but, actually no. No matter who you're playing as when it comes to our Apex Legends tier list, it looks like - at least for now - that there are Cargo Bot supply drops that will kill you on sight.

Of course, what we're talking about is an Apex Legends bug - at least, we're fairly certain this is a bug and not an intentional feature - that is instantly killing players trying to melee recently dropped Cargo Bot supply drops. It's not something we expect to see fixed in the next set of Apex Legends patch notes, but it's certainly something that needs to be fixed.

Apex Legends' meta shouldn't be dictated by pick rates and pro players

Discussing the Apex Legends meta can be something of a tiresome topic for battle royale fans. Despite Respawn Entertainment making constant balancing changes and tweaks, there are always calls for buffs and nerfs from the game's community. It's a case where you really can't please everyone - and that's okay. But, where does that leave the game's meta? It's all too easy to turn to pick rates, win stats, and rank distributions to dictate this - but, there are quite a few reasons why this only makes things worse.

When you think about why people choose the Apex Legends character they play as most, there are a multitude of reasons that shouldn't really influence any sort of Apex Legends tier list. Even players trying desperately to climb the Apex Legends ranks choose who they're using next game based on arbitray factors like which character's voice lines they like hearing the most, or which character they unlocked a cosmetic for most recently.

These factors, while important to each and every one of our personal experiences with a game like Apex Legends, have absolutely no bearing on how good one character is compared to another. Yet, as we have seen with each new season of Apex Legends (thanks to statistics from Apex Legends Status), it can influence pick rates. This, in turn, influences which Apex Legends characters people play as - especially if you're just looking online to find out who's the best - and misinforms the meta further.

Cloud9 releases its Apex Legends roster a month into new ALGS season

Esports organisation Cloud9 has released its North American Apex Legends roster just a few weeks after the 2023 Apex Legends Global Series Pro League began.

Announced through a series of TwitLonger posts by its players Paris 'StayNauhgty' Gouzoulis, Zach 'Zach' Mazer, and Aidan 'rocker' Grodin, Cloud9 will be dropping its support for the trio after they mutually agreed to terminate their contracts. All three are now unrestricted free agents.

According to Zach and StayNaughty's posts, the current economic situation has seen some of Cloud9's sponsors "cut back" on spending and support, which in turn has led to a lack of funding for the Apex Legends division of the organisation. Zach also says that "I feel 100% confident [that] without org problems we would be sticking together". This is despite a rocky start to Year 3 of the ALGS performance-wise, which sees the team sitting dangerously close to the Pro League relegation zone in the North America region.

Apex Legends' Christmas event coming with Winter Express LTM teaser

This Apex Legends update would make Prestige skins worth unlocking

We know there are quite a few people less-than-pleased with Respawn Entertainment's approach to monetisation in Apex Legends, but it's hard to deny that quite a few of the legend skins are pretty slick. One thing that's leaving fans a little disappointed, though, when it comes to these cosmetics is the Prestige skins Respawn Entertainment are starting to pepper into the battle royale's Collection Event rewards - instead of Heirloom items. While these skins are far from bad cosmetics, they cost Apex Legends players a lot to unlock and they're not quite as customisable as they could be, given that this is something of a unique selling point for these items. We know this is one of the best battle royale games, and the best competitive FPS games out there, but it's disappointing. So, one Apex Legends content creator has suggested one small - but very effective - change to make it all worthwhile.

Apex Legends content creator and leaker 'KralRindo' has taken to the Apex Legends subreddit to share his conceptual colour picker for Apex Legends' Prestige skins.

As you'll be able to see for yourself below, KralRindo has introduced a simple colour grid where players can choose the primary, secondary, and emmissive colours for any Prestige skin they unlock. If you're not sure what "emmissive" means, in this context it's referring to any sorts of lights on a skin.
