Apex Legends' Catalyst buff is a step in the right direction

Following the revelation that Crypto isn't Apex Legends' least popular character anymore, thanks to his viability against newcomer Catalyst, Respawn Entertainment has actually buffed the aforementioned Techno Witch. Following Apex Legends' November 14 patch, Seer's Heart Seeker passive ability will no-longer track through Catalyst's Dark Veil ultimate ability. Not only this, but Catalyst's ability audio has been reduced and should be "less noisy for those nearby".

With complaints that Apex Legends' Catalyst is a "liability" when countering scans, this change is a step in the right direction. After all, we all thought Apex Legends' Catalyst is Seer's worst nightmare - and that hasn't exactly been the case. Since the Eclipse season's launch, Apex Legends has even been accused of releasing "misleading" Catalyst trailers that misrepresent the effectiveness of her tactical and ultimate abilities.

But, following the common experience in finding Apex Legends' lack of legend changes for Season 15 "frustrating", it looks like Respawn Entertainment are starting to tweak things. With any luck, these changes are just the start of improving Catalyst's ability to counter the scan meta effectively.

Post Malone порадовал фаната Apex Legends

Respawn Entertainment.

Crypto isn't Apex Legends' least popular character anymore

We don't know who needs to hear this, but Apex Legends' Crypto is no-longer the least popular character in Respawn Entertainment's battle royale. If there was any doubt about Apex Legends being one of the best competitive FPS games on the market right now, this should surely clear things up. Despite no mention whatsoever in the latest Apex Legends patch notes, Crypto has seen a 14.6% usage increase over the last few days and now sits joint least-popular with Newcastle - who has seen a usage rate drop of 1.2% - according to Apex Legends Status.

If you're sitting there wondering where this unusual spike of Crypto popularity has come from, it's hard to say given his lack of technical changes. However, Catalyst could very well be a catalyst for this.

We know Gibraltar and Newcastle are Catalyst's kryptonite in Apex Legends, but his pick rate has been in decline for some time now. When you couple this with the fact that Catalyst is a "liability" when countering scans, her popularity could actually be influencing the viability of Crypto in the battle royale at the moment.

This Apex Legends passive ability concept could spice up the meta

In Respawn Entertainment's battle royale shooter Apex Legends, there is currently only one class-based passive ability that players can take advantage of. With the FPS game's legends being sorted into multiple classes, should this really be the case? Well, one Apex Legends fan has suggested otherwise and we're not alone in thinking that the new class-based passive abilities they proposed would make an excellent addition to the game.

We know Gibraltar and Newcastle are Catalyst's kryptonite in Apex Legends, but Redditor 'CreamOfMeme420' has proposed that all Defence class legends should be able to stack two Ultimate Accelerant items per inventory slot. This proposed Defence class passive ability would allow legends like Caustic, Wattson, and Rampart (as well as the three mentioned above) to use their ultimate abilities much more frequently - which, we suppose, would make them worth picking a little more if you're trying to climb the Apex Legends ranks.

In addition to this, they suggest an Assault class passive ability that improves tactical ability cooldown for legends like Ash, Bangalore, and Mirage when they get a knockdown. This passive ability, that would also stretch to Fuse, Maggie, and Revenant, would encourage more aggressive plays when using these legends - and reward players who win gunfights with faster tacticals.
