Respawn раньше времени раскрыла нового персонажа Apex Legends

Студия Respawn случайно загрузила в сеть раньше времени очередной ролик из серии "Историй из Внешних земель", который позволяет игрокам ознакомиться с небольшой предысторией Vantage — новой героиней королевской битвы Apex Legends.

Respawn accidentally revealed its next Apex Legends character

Respawn Entertainment seems to have accidentally shown off the next Apex Legends character joining the roster.

You might remember that back in March there was quite a big Apex Legends leak showing nine potential new characters, including the most recent addition Newcastle. Now it seems that Respawn itself has accidentally shown a brief preview of the next character joining the game, advertising a potential upcoming Stories from the Outlands. If you want to wait for the official reveal though, maybe skip this one.

As reported by Dot Esports, one fan spotted this preview in the Apex client yesterday (July 23), inviting players to watch a Stories from the Outland episode titled Survive. "There's a new installment of the Stories from the Outlands!" reads the description. "Watch survive and meet the new Legend joining the Games in Apex Legends: Hunted, coming August 9!"

Apex Legends fans convinced they know who's being teased for Season 14

We know it shouldn't be taken for granted, but it feels like a given that Respawn Entertainment is going to release one new playable legend for Apex Legends per season. With that in mind, Apex Legends' Season 14 update is on the way and Respawn Entertainment's latest teaser has everyone online thinking the same thing: 'Vantage' is coming to the battle royale shooter next.

At 13:38 PST / 16:38 EST / 21:38 BST on July 21, the official Apex Legends social media account shared an image of four hand-written diary entries with the following caption: " You've got to keep yourself busy when you're one of the only two people on the planet."

The diary entries themselves include comments on a person's "grand-mom", their experience with saving a small bird from a "tangle of brambles" (and then shooting and eating said bird), and their boredom. While it's a clear reference to some new character being introduced into the Apex Legends universe - hopefully the new playable legend - it might not be as clear as to why people think this is a reference to 'Vantage', who we found out about in some Apex Legends character leaks earlier in the year.

Apex Legends goes full-on anime for July’s Gaiden event

Anime is an acquired taste, so you might not be a fan of stylised fights, speed lines and wacky costumes. Apex Legends is hoping you are though, because the Gaiden event has kicked off to bring some cosmetics influenced by One Piece, My Hero Academia and, possibly, Attack On Titan into the sci-fi battle royale for a limited time. Watch the surprisingly authentic anime-style trailer below.

ALGS divides Apex Legends fans with Nickmercs Pro League invite

Well, there it is. Nicholas 'Nickmercs' Kolcheff is going to be an Apex Legends pro - it's not something we thought we'd ever see, but it's something the popular streamer and FaZe Clan co-owner has been working towards for some time with his Apex Legends team Tripods. Following a string of decent results in the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Challenger Circuit throughout Year 2, Respawn Entertainment has invited the team to compete in Split 1 of the ALGS Pro League next year.

Competing at the top isn't going to be easy, but Nickmercs and his teammates - 'Lewda' and 'Deeds' - have been hard at work putting in the hours getting some fairly decent Top 20 results in the numerous qualifying tournaments held in the build up to next years' Pro League. And, as we now know, it's all paid off.

Sharing the invitation with the world, Nickmercs had his own graphic made up using the official wording of the invite and tweeted it with the following comments: "Tripods in the league now b*tch [Flame Emoji] They said it would never happen! Shouts go out to them".
